First is Aloha from OPI, an amazing bright coral red crème. This is exactly the type of shade I gravitate towards. Perfect for Spring, and it's quite Summery too. Excellent creamy formula, this is two coats.
Next is Do You Take Lei Away?, a fabulous pale beige crème that is thin, but very opaque. This is two coats. I have been loving neutrals lately and this is a really great one. It reminds me of the beige in the Coca-Cola collection, but this is more pink toned compared to the yellow tinge of that one.
Go With the Lava Flow is a super lovely orangey pinky reddish shimmer with silvery glass flecks and gold shimmer flakes. I am in love with this finish, it seems nicely different for OPI. I wasn't sure about the color at first, but it's really beautiful, much more so in real life. This one was a tad runny but I got it opaque in two coats.
This is called Hello Hawaii Ya?, which makes me smile each time I say/read it. It's a dusty greyed purple. I am smitten! It's easy to apply, thin but opaque in two coats.
Next we have Is Mai Tai Crooked? Hmm, what's with all the punctuation OPI :) This is a pale orange crème that reminds me of a smoothie. I love the color, oranges just seem to work on me, but the formula was on the streaky side. I managed it in two coats but I think I was lucky.
Just Lanai-ing Around is one of my surprise favorites, at first glance it may seem like a "grandma" mauve color, and maybe it is, but I just love how it looks on me. Almost marsala-esque, but more pinky. It has beautiful crystalline silver shimmer that really shows up on the nail. Great creamy formula, very opaque. This is two coats.
Here we have Lost My Bikini in Molokini, a cool medium grape purple crème. Perfect formula, just really wow! You need this. I used two coats.
My Gecko Does Tricks was one I was really looking forward to, but it ended up kinda meh for me. It was runny and sheer so that didn't make me happy, but then you can't even see the cool coppery gold duochrome you see in the bottle on the nail. Boo! I used three coats.
Pineapples Have Peelings Too! has gotten quite a reputation. And it's not good folks. And now I fully understand why. I'm a champion of "ugly pretty" colors, but this guy is just...ugly. It's got a frosty yellowy gold shimmer base with rainbow colored multi sized hex glitters. It just doesn't work. I really tried to like this. If the base wasn't so frosty, maybe it might've been salvageable, but I'm sorry, just no. This is two coats.
Next is Suzi Shops & Island Hops, a baby pink crème. I have a lot of polishes in this color range so it's not super exciting, but it is pretty. This unfortunately didn't have the greatest formula. It was thin and streaky and I had to use three coats to even it out.
Yay a pastel green! This is That's Hula-rious!, a pale minty pastel green with an almost crème but more crelly type of formula. I've heard some people had troubles getting this to apply without streaks and patching, but I didn't have any issues. This is two coats.
And last is This Color's Making Waves, a bluey turquoisey oceany shimmer with goldy pinky sparky bits. Same type of polish as Gecko, pretty sheer and kinda runny. My friend Karen aka ManiGeek swatched those two over black, which shows the color shift better. (She also posted a bunch of comparisons for this collection, so check her out.) I used three coats here. It looks better in person than in this photo, it's quite pretty.
So there you have it! You can purchase OPI polish in professional salons and stores like Ulta and Sally Beauty. They are usually around $9.50 per bottle. I really like a lot of these, but there were a few misses. It's a great Spring collection though and there are a few must haves. My favorites are Aloha from OPI, Just Lanai-ing Around, and That's Hula-rious!. Did you pick any up colors from this collection? What is your favorite shade?
Byeeee!
❤ Kellie
