First up is Lei It Again, one of the seven tropical neon crèmes in this collection. Neons are very hard to photograph so please know these may look a little different from what you would see in person. It's hard to capture them totally accurately. These dry very quickly and with a matte finish, so use a top coat for shine. This faded electric pink was streaky on one coat but was relatively easy to even out with two.
This is going to be a beyond huge post so I'm going to put a jump link to the rest of the swatches here :)
Rum Me The Right Way is next in the neons, it's a bleached bright pineapple yellow. This one was slightly thicker than Lei It Again but not terrible. It took three coats to even this one out for me. This isn't as crazy bright as my photo infers, it just wanted to look that way on camera I guess :P
My favorite of the neons is Bahama Drama, a neon corally deep peach crème. This one had the same formula as Lei It Again, you could get away with two coats with a fast and steady hand but I needed three to fix the leveling. Not a deal breaker though, just look at that hawtness!
For Sail By Owner is the subdued neon lime green. This one was slightly more viscous and a bit easier to apply than the previous ones, I used two coats here.
This is Leggo My Mango, a perfect name for this! It's the most faded of the neons in my opinion, this is a pale creamsicle orange. Makes me look uber tan! Same formula as Rum Me The Right Way, kinda thick. This is three coats.
In Yacht Water is a gorgeous caribbean blue crème with the same great formula as For Sail By Owner. Two coats here.
And last of the crèmes is Sarong Place, Sarong Time. This is epic. It's a vibrant warm purple with an amazing formula. On the edgiest edge of almost being a one coater, but I used two for a richer color. YOU NEED THIS!
I layered on Precious Petals over that, a glitter top coat with pink, purple, white and aqua glitters with holographic dust in a clear base. Great glitter payoff, this is one coat!
This is Sterling Example, one of four silver flakes in varying sizes from the collection; this is the largest of them. It's great for layering or wearing alone. I've put one coat over For Sail By Owner. This applies like a regular glitter topper, not difficult at all. You get a lot out on one coat so that's awesome. This color combo makes me think of Doublemint gum!
Foiled is the smallest of their silver flakes, it's a super micro mini size! This is so smooth and easy to apply. You could probably use it for layering if you wipe your brush off a little first, but it's really full coverage. It's totally opaque in two coats, as I've shown you here.
Here we have Alloy Matey! I swear, KBShimmer has the best polish names. This is a dense silver holographic microglitter. It is meant for full coverage but you could layer it and get a really blingy top coat. I used two coats here by itself. This dries kinda matte and every so slightly textured so you'll want a top coat.
Sun & Games is a gold version of Alloy Matey, same formula. I used two coats here as well with a top coat. I love goooolllldddd!
Next is Shell Shock. This is a peachy tan crelly with holographic gold glitter, and reflective magenta purple and copper glitters. I've never seen anything quite like this before, it's really cool! I have to admit it seems kinda out of place with the rest of the colors, but oh well. Easy to apply with great coverage, this is two coats.
Home Surf is another cool one, it's a muted teal crelly with multi-sized holographic silver glitters. This reminds me of a surfy frothy tidepool! Two easy breezy coats.
This glitter is called Pink-a-Colada, it has a fuchsia pinky jelly base with lime, blue and pink metallic hex glitters in varying sizes. This one was a little sheer, I needed three coats.
Wave The Flag is a patriotic glitter topper with red white and blue matte hex glitters in varying sizes and some white star glitters. This is really great, it's not thick at all and you get a ton of glitter on one swipe. This is one coat over In Yacht Water.
Here is Vitamin Sea, an aqua teal jelly with metallic glitter in pink and silver with holographic glitter bits. This had an easy formula and was opaque in two coats. It does dry matte which I was surprised at, so you'll want a top coat for shine.
We Be Jammin' is a magenta purpley jelly polish with blue shimmer and special holographic shimmer. This is almost like a glass fleck polish but not quite, it's a different kind of finish I don't think I've seen before. I really like it! It's consistency is a little bit on the gummy side, but that doesn't affect application. This is two coats.
And finally, we have What Are You Wading For?, a deep periwinkle blue linear holographic with indigo shimmer bits. I don't think the shimmer bits are translating to my photo very well, but they are very apparent in person. Funny story, I actually emailed KBShimmer owner/maker Christy right before the press releases came out for this collection to mention how much I wanted to see a periwinkle holo from her. She emailed me back a photo of this guy and it was like she had read my mind! Ooh magic! This has a nice thin formula and great opacity at two coats.
The other 9 polishes in the summer collection not pictured here include two more sizes of silver flakes, a holographic silver dust glitter topper, and six multichrome metallic flakes in various color shifts.
This collection is available for purchase today on KBShimmer.com and their Etsy store. They range in price from $7.50 for the cremes, $8.75 for the glitters, and $10.75 for the flakes. I'm really loving all the ones that I got :) KBShimmer knocks another one outta the park! Soooo what do you think??
Adios friends!
