Glam Polish Forever After Collection [Partial] Swatches & Review

Hellooooo polish enthusiasts! Today I have an upcoming Glam Polish collection to show you, called Forever After! This is a massive collection, the biggest I've seen from them I think, at 12 shades. I have six of them for you today, and they're all amazing! “Adventure through an Enchanted Kingdom with our twelve bright and sparkly shades inspired by the Magic of Fairytales.”

Someday My Prince Will Come is a bright blue scattered holographic with ultra holo glitter. This had a good formula, thick in a good way, not too thick. Opaque in two coats. Dries slightly bumpy from the glitter, but just one layer of top coat smoothed them all out for me.
Glam Polish Someday My Prince Will Come

A Little Bit Of Magic is a bright lemon chartreuse scattered holographic with ultra holo glitter. This one was a tiny bit streaky, due to the neon shade I'm sure, but I still only needed two coats.

Happily Ever After is a bright watermelon coral scattered holographic with ultra holo glitter. This was a little less thick than the blue, and applied super easily. The almost neon, coral/pink/orange base shade is my favorite color ever and I'm so happy to see it from one of my favorite indie brands. Two coats here as well.
Glam Polish Happily Ever After

Slay The Dragon is a bright lime green scattered holographic with ultra holo glitter. This guy applied similarly to the blue shade, thick but good, and opaque in two coats.
Glam Polish Slay The Dragon

Her Own Kingdom is a bright magenta pink scattered holographic with ultra holo glitter. This one was not as thick, like the coral shade, and was opaque on one coat! I did two however, as I always do.
Glam Polish Her Own Kingdom

Once Upon A Time is a bright amethyst purple scattered holographic with ultra holo glitter. Great formula, same as the blue shade, a little thicker but easy to apply. Two coats here.
Glam Polish Once Upon A Time

The other half of the collection includes: Never Grow Up - matte rainbow glitter bomb with holo base and ultra holo glitter; Love Always Finds A Way - bright lilac scattered holo with ultra holo glitter; True Love’s Kiss - bright pink scattered holo with ultra holo glitter; Fairest of Them All - bright periwinkle scattered holo with ultra holo glitter; Enchanted Forest - bright jade scattered holo with ultra holo glitter; and Far Far Away - bright orange scattered holo with ultra holo glitter. You can see bottle shots and swatches on the Glam Polish facebook and instagram pages.

I went a little crazy pants and did some nail art with the shades I received, insanity! I did a simple rainbow-ish vertical gradient using a latex-free makeup sponge and dabbing on the polish until it became opaque. My trusty latex skin barrier Liquid Palisade helped me keep the polish off my skin (though some green is still visible around my cuticle, ugh). I used a thicker topcoat, Glitter Glaze by Girly Bits, to help smooth the multiple glittery coats. Not perfect, but I'm pretty happy with it!
Glam Polish Forever After Collection #nailart

This collection will be available this Friday, July 1st at 2pm EST on the Glam Polish website. I'm pretty dang in love with these shades, they are so nice to put on, they're bright and summery, and they're sooo glittery without being super gritty. And they're themed for fairy tales which is adorable! Tell me what you think!

Powder Perfect Bermuda Triangle Trio Swatches & Review

Hi there :) Today I have three new polishes from Australian indie brand Powder Perfect to share, called the Bermuda Triangle trio! Three intense summer crèmes to flaunt on the beach, at the pool, or wherever you are living it up this season!

Bermuda is a super bright teal crème. It leans more green in real life but my camera couldn't deal. This was lovely to apply and opaque in two coats. This kind of color tends to stain, so I'd double up on your base coat just in case. However, I didn't notice any staining personally. I really enjoy the Powder Perfect bottle and brush, the design makes it very easy to polish with.
Powder Perfect Bermuda

Florida is a striking coral crème, kind of a mix between a neon and a pastel, but not really either one of those haha. This one was a touch on the streaky side, which I have noticed in a lot of coral polishes in this tone. It may be something to do with the pigment type? I used three coats here to cover the streaks but you may get away with two.
Powder Perfect Florida

Puerto Rico is a summery vibrant purple crème. This formula was really easy and smooth for me, no issues. Opaque in two coats. I am in love with this color! I need to put it on my toes right away!
Powder Perfect Puerto Rico

I was also able to try out their new glossy, quick dry top coat, Lightning Lady. It has a thinner consistency than I'm used to seeing from indies, but it dries pretty quickly and gives a really shiny and hard finish to a manicure. Most of my more plush top coats tend to dry faster, but they don't give me that rock hard surface that this does. Another plus to this gal was zero shrinkage! No matter what I do, with absolutely all my quick dry top coats for the last few years, I seem to experience shrinkage at my cuticles after a few hours of wear. Not the case with Lightning Lady! When I have a bit longer to wait for a perfectly tuned mani, I'll be using this!

You can purchase these at their Australian site http://www.powderperfect.com.au, or their US site http://www.powder-perfect.com. The polishes sell for $10.50 each and the top coat is $11. There is a sale right now where you can get the trio for $29.70 if purchased as a set. And as a special treat, I have a discount code for you (non-affiliate), if you put in KELLIE at checkout on http://www.powder-perfect.com, you can save 10% off your entire purchase! Valid through 7/31/16. Let me know what you think of these pretty bright shades!

China Glaze Summer 2016 Lite Brites Collection Swatches & Review

I'm back today with a summer collection from China Glaze, a "nod to the audacious spirit and outspoken style of the ‘80s" called Lite Brites! There are twelve vibrant shades in the collection, which I'm excited to show you! I was born in the late 80's but I can definitely appreciate the decade and it's bold style! Neons are notoriously difficult to capture accurately in photos, but I've tried to get my pictures as close as possible. Please make sure to consult multiple photo if you are concerned.

Lip Smackin' Good is a bubble gum neon pink with a smattering of subtle blue shimmer. This applied well and dried pretty quickly. It's a little thick, but that didn't hinder application but rather helped. Neons can be tricky to get in a good formula and these are good. This is two coats. Dries dull so you'll want a top coat.
China Glaze Lip Smackin' Good

Whip It Good is a brilliant banana yellow crème. This is almost but not quite a neon, more bright pastel. This one was a little thin, a little streaky at first, but leveled out nicely in three coats.

Let's Jam is an orchid purple with a strong blue shimmer flash. Fabulous formula, amazingly opaque in one coat. I did two here, as I normally do, but one is totally sufficient. Thin but very pigmented.
China Glaze Let's Jam

I'll Pink To That is a totally tubular neon fuchsia crelly. More jelly-like in formula than the other crèmes but very opaque, almost a one coater! I used two coats here. Very shiny!
China Glaze I'll Pink To That

Lime After Lime is a light bright neon lime crème. Another really great formula, a little thick but that makes it easy to get opaque and levels out really well. Two coats.
China Glaze Lime After Lime

Papa Don't Peach is a coral orange jelly filled with iridescent copper glitter. This is sheerer than I expected, I needed three coats for full opacity. It dries to a textured finish, not sure if that was intentional or not. One coat of Seche Vite top coat was enough to cover the glitter and make it smooth though. This isn't my favorite look, but I like they did something different with glitter.
China Glaze Papa Don't Peach

What I Like About Blue is a bright sky blue with tons of floating pale gold shimmer. This one was on the thin side and could pool if you have too much polish on your brush. I applied two thin coats. Dries quite dull so you'll want a top coat for shine. Also be careful with removal, this type of shimmer sticks to everything.
China Glaze What I Like About Blue

None Of Your Risky Business is an electric tangerine crème. Same formula as the green except a tiny bit thinner, basically a normal buttery crème. Excellent opacity in just two coats. Dries dull.
China Glaze None Of Your Risky Business

We Got The Beet is a warm vibrant grape purple jelly with iridescent copper glitter bits. Same formula and texture as Papa Don't Peach, three coats here with a thick top coat.
China Glaze We Got The Beet

Bite Me is a crazy fluorescent warm pink neon with a glaze of gold shimmer. This was probably the thickest formula out of the collection, but covers in one coat. I used two here. Also dries the most matte, probably because of how neon it is. This is blindingly bright!
China Glaze Bite Me

I Got A Blue Attitude is a deep blue-violet crème with the most subtle glimmer of shimmer. This has a great formula, another thicker one but that equals to being almost opaque in one coat. I used two here for full opacity. A difficult color to pin down, in some lights it looks more blue and in others looks more purple.
China Glaze I Got A Blue Attitude

Hot Flash is the last shade, a crimson celly. This has the same formula as I'll Pink To That, very opaque for this type of formula, almost a one coater. This is two and it dries very shiny.
China Glaze Hot Flash

The Lite Brites collection is available now at Ulta and Sally Beauty Supply for around $7.50 each. What are your thoughts on this rad collection of summer shades? I'm head over heels! My favorites are Whip It Good, Lime After Lime, Bite Me and Let's Jam. Which ones catch your eye?

Different Dimension Valentine's 2016 Serendipity Collection Swatches & Review

Ready for another Valentine's day collection? Well whether you are or not, I've got another to show you haha! This is a quartet of polishes from indie brand Different Dimension, inspired by the movie "Serendipity". I've never seen the film, but I love that creator Missi made this cute collection based on a movie that means a lot to her and her significant other. Adorbs!

Different Dimension Have Faith In Destiny is a pale silvery nude linear holographic. This formula was thin but easy to apply and dried very fast. I'm head over heels with this shade, so classy but still slightly edgy! This is two coats.
Different Dimension Have Faith In Destiny

Different Dimension Serendipity is a hot pink jelly with a slight magenta tone filled with scattered holo sparks, flake shimmer, and blue/violet iridescent shimmer. This is crazy bright, almost a neon! Excellent formula, no fuss. You could get away with two coats if you wanted, but I used three to completely cover the shadow of my nail line. Dries a bit bumpy so you'll want a thick top coat.
Different Dimension Serendipity

Different Dimension They Should Make Pills For This is a white based crelly with different shapes and sizes of shimmers and glitters in hot pink and silver. This one felt a tiny bit thick, but covers the nail completely with no streaks in two coats. There's a bit of a texture with the glitters, so again you'll want a thick top coat for smoothness. I like this a lot, so cute but not too cutesy ya know?
Different Dimension They Should Make Pills For This

Different Dimension Maybe The Absence of Signs is a Sign is a blood red jelly with the same scattered holo sparks that are in Serendipity. The darkness and slight dirtiness of the red shade takes it in a whole different direction (dimension?) than the pink though. This one was more sheer, I definitely needed the three coats on this one for full coverage. You could also layer this over an opaque color for a different look, but I love the depth the jelly gives with the holo bits, swoon!
Different Dimension Maybe The Absence of Signs is a Sign

These are available now at the Different Dimension website, individually priced at $12, except for They Should Make Pills For This which is specially priced at $5! You can get a discount if you purchase the entire set, it's being sold for $38. Let me know what you think of these pretties for V-day! Have you seen the movie Serendipity?

Orly Summer 2015 Adrenaline Rush Collection [Partial] Swatches & Review

Hi everyone! Today I have four minis from the Orly Adrenaline Rush collection to show you. This is their 2015 Summer collection, it has six shades in it but I opted for the mini set of four. I found this guy at my local discount store for a good price so I had to pick it up.

Fireball is a super vivid red with a touch of hidden shimmer. This had a good formula, on the thin side but I didn't have any issues with it. I had full opacity on two coats. It dried satiny matte so use a top coat for maximum shine. I don't think I have a dupe for this, it's so cool!
Orly Fireball

On The Edge is a blurple, more blue than purple but it's still there. This had a great formula, two coats. I never used to like blurple colors, but I have come around so I definitely appreciate this one. It also dries semi-matte.
Orly On the Edge

Push The Limit seems to be the popular favorite from this collection from what I've heard, and for good reason. It's a beautiful bright orangey coral crème with neon properties but not totally neon. It went on a little streaky for me, not terrible but not awesome. It also dries more matte.
Orly Push The Limit

Risky Behavior is the last in the mini bunch, a really bright gorgeous fuchsia pink, another almost neon crème. This one went on very easy and covered in two coats, almost opaque in one though. Also dries kinda satiny. This one is super flattering, I love it!
Orly Risky Behavior

The other two shades in the full collection are a highlighter yellow crème and a vivid purple crème, which I'm sure are lovely but I don't think I necessarily need them. I wasn't sure at first, but I think my favorite of these four is Fireball! That unexpected shimmer just really wowed me! Also, I enjoyed these mini bottles. Some mini sizes just don't work well for application, but these were nice and easy to use. They are .18 fl oz with nicely sized handles and brushes.

You can purchase Orly polishes from stores like Sally Beauty Supply and Ulta for around $8 for a 0.6 fl oz bottle. I got this set for around $5 at Marshalls. Did you pick up any colors from this collection?

Orly Hot Tropics Swatch & Review

Hey folks :) Today I wanted to show you a dope a$$ polish from Orly called Hot Tropics. It came out in their summer collection called Baked. I got this in the Nailbox Pre-Fall 2014 Trendbox. It contains four polishes, a matte top coat and a set of nail wraps, all curated by Chalkboard Nails! I won the box participating in a #NailGlossip chat on Twitter not too long ago.

Hot Tropics is a slightly pinky fuchsia purple almost neon with lots of flecky silverish gold shimmer. This is a seriously fabulous polish, really lovely on any skin tone and just fun. I love it for summer but it's a great transition shade too, as it's not super neon but still has a touch of that radiance. Two easy, dreamy coats.

You might still be able to pick this up at Sally Beauty or Ulta stores, or you can get it on Orly's website. It's also still available in the Trendbox I mentioned above. What do you think of this beauty? Is it your cup of tea? I'll see you soon darlings :)

China Glaze Summer 2014 Off Shore Collection Part 2 Swatches & Review

Hey guys n' dolls, today I have the second half of the China Glaze Off Shore collection, the Dune Our Thing set! I reviewed the first half HERE if you missed it. This set is more cool toned and the other ones are on the warmer side. Half of this collection I purchased and half were sent to me for review. So, let's dive in!

Dune Our Thing is a medium berry magenta crème. Beautiful shade, I love this and wouldn't reign it in as just a summer color. Wonderful formula, really buttery. This is two coats, but you might be able to get away with one.
China Glaze - Dune Our Thing // kelliegonzo.com

Here is Feel The Breeze, a baby pink neon crème. I knew I needed this color when I first saw pics of this collection, it is just meant for me! A little thick but manageable in two coats. This one dries satiny so use a top coat for shine.
China Glaze - Feel The Breeze // kelliegonzo.com

Now Wait N' Sea is a freaking fabulous color! It's an aqua turquoise slightly teal crème with an impeccable formula, dries shiny. Two coats. And no staining!
China Glaze - Wait N' Sea // kelliegonzo.com

X-Ta-Sea is a medium purple crème that is not really bright still manages to be radiant enough to fit in this collection. Thin formula and a little patchy, dries shiny. I used two coats here but I think I should've used three.
China Glaze - X-Ta-Sea // kelliegonzo.com

This is Float On, which is the name of one of my favorite songs, but also a really great polish! Neon pink, in my opinion, can't ever do ya wrong. Two easy breezy coats, dries satiny.
China Glaze - Float On // kelliegonzo.com

And last is I Sea the Point, a lovely bright cobalt blue crème. I swoon over blues like this, I can never have enough of them. Perfection in a bottle, two coats. Dries slightly satin.
China Glaze - I Sea the Point // kelliegonzo.com

This collection is a total must have to me, I think there's only one I could do without (X-Ta-Sea). Great, great collection. Sally Beauty stores might still have these in stock, but if not you can search for them online and probably will be able to get them easily. What do you think of this collection? Do you wear seasonal colors in the "correct" season or do you make your own rules? Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you have a great week :)

China Glaze Summer 2014 Off Shore Collection Part 1 Swatches & Review

I know it's not summer anymore (well I guess technically Fall starts on September 23 with the equinox?) but I am not through with summer collections! I don't have rules when it comes to what polishes I wear when, I will wear a neon yellow in the dead of winter if I get the urge! But of course we know we will most likely see brights and neons released during summer and I'm always eager to stock up on them.

One collection I was especially excited for this year is China Glaze Off Shore, 12 eye popping summer shades worthy of hanging ten on our tips and toes. I got six of these shades for review and I purchased the other six myself. Here is the first half, the Stoked to Be Soaked set.

First up is Sun Upon My Skin a bright sun bleached yellow crème. This one was thin and not super self leveling. After three coats it ended up looking pretty good. I love yellow polishes and this is a super pretty one.
China Glaze - Sun Upon My Skin // kelliegonzo.com

Next is Shore Enuff, a bright lime crème. The formula was on the thick side but it wasn't hard to make work in two coats. Dries kinda satiny, so use a top coat for maximum shine. LOVE!
China Glaze - Shore Enuff // kelliegonzo.com

Next is If In Doubt, Surf It Out, a soft sun bleached peachy orange crème. I usually love soft oranges so I figured I'd adore this, and I do! Another thin formula but it wasn't difficult, two coats here.
China Glaze - If In Doubt, Surf It Out // kelliegonzo.com

This is Sea's the Day, a berry red crème. I love this tone of red, kinda pinky rather than a straight blue red. Makes it more wearable to me. Nice formula and very shiny finish. Two coats.
China Glaze - Sea's the Day // kelliegonzo.com

I really love Be More Pacific, a sun bleached lime crème. This color seems pretty unique to my collection, which is a feat, and I like it with my skin tone. Same formula as Sun Upon My Skin, not the easiest. Three coats.
China Glaze - Be More Pacific // kelliegonzo.com

Last is Stoked to Be Soaked, a bright juicy medium orange. I've noticed on some blog reviews that some people have a version with shimmer. I bought this one, it wasn't a press sample so maybe that's why? I'm not sure, but either way, it's a great color with a great formula. Two coats.
China Glaze - Stoked to Be Soaked // kelliegonzo.com

Again, I know the sunny summer season is mostly over, but just know that you can wear "summer colors" any time you want! You might still be able to find these in Sally Beauty Supply stores, but can definitely still get them online at various e-tailers. What do you think of this half of the collection? Did you pick up any of them? How do you feel about wearing brighter colors outside of the warmer months? Stay tuned for the second part of the collection, coming soon!

**EDIT: Part 2 is located HERE  :)

KBShimmer 6th Anniversary Collection Swatches & Review

Howdy! Today I have to show you this awesome trio from KBShimmer that they put out for their 6th Anniversary as a company. A very impressive milestone and they deserve all the success they can get!

First is Beach Please which is a fabulous name and a fabulous polish. This baby is as close as you can possibly get to a neon without quite being one. It's a stunning vibrant pink crème with a purple undertone. Absolutely perfect formula, opaque in two coats.
KBShimmer - Beach Please // kelliegonzo.com

This is Hexy Bikini. If you only own one KBShimmer polish in your life, this should be it. And that's saying something because KBShimmer polishes rock. It's a textured silver glitter with holo, teal and dark pink bits. Really easy to use for a texture, this is two coats without top coat. You can put top coat on to make it smooth but I prefer it as a texture. This is seriously CRAZY blingy and you need it.
KBShimmer - Hexy Bikini // kelliegonzo.com

And to round out the trio here is Shore Thing, an aqua mint bluish green shade that just POPS off the nail and slaps you in the face! Another almost almost neon crème with a great formula. I used two coats. Dries just slightly matte so use a top coat.
KBShimmer - Shore Thing // kelliegonzo.com

You can purchase these from the KBShimmer website or on Harlow & Co. The crèmes are $7.50 each and the glitter is $8.75, or if you buy all three together you can save some bucks and get them for $21 (as of right now, price may be subject to change). So do these polishes just scream SUMMER to you or what? Tell me what you think about them in the comments. I want to go lay on the beach now please, we'll see ya later!

Mattese Elite Nail Polish

I have a new-to-me brand to show you called Mattese Elite. I was happy to find some shades that were really beautiful and wanted to show them to you!

Turks Blue is a green tinted turquoise blue crème that borders on neon, I love it! It's seriously beautiful. It's not super unique but who cares, I love colors like this :D This is three coats with topcoat.
This is Power Pink, a beautiful neon pink. This pink is a little softer and lighter than the other neon pinks that I have which makes it uncommon. These photos make it look a little brighter/more fluorescent than it actually is, but we all know cameras like to screw with neons. This is three coats with topcoat.
And finally today we have Attitude from their Ballet Colors collection. The color is so dreamy, a greyed out sky blue that reminds me of silky bedsheets. The formula is thin and squishy like Essie's jelly crèmes. This is three coats.
These polishes are sold for $5.99 each online at http://www.matteseelite.com/ or from http://www.rickysnyc.com.  They are of great quality and have a fabulous range of colors. I have a few more to show you soon so stay tuned!
