Barielle Karma Kollection: Swatches & Review

Hey folks, hope you're all doing well! I have a super fun review for you today, three colors from Barielle's summer shades the Karma Kollection. (Not gonna lie, it's my pet peeve when people turn words with a "c" into a "k" haha.) I haven't seen anything new from Barielle since last year so I was happy to see these.

Soul-er Powered is a warm sunny yellow with lots of silver and gold shimmer. It is really fabulous, maybe my favorite yellow shimmer ever! It is just so happy and bright, I love it. This is two coats, it was very nicely opaque and creamy.

Positive ZEN-ergy is a warm mossy green with silver shimmer. I love the shimmer in this shade, it makes me think of frosted glass shower doors haha. This one was super easy to apply too, a big plus. Sometimes these crème based shimmers can get thick but this was on point. Two coats.

I thought Positive ZEN-ergy looked familiar at first sight, and then I realized it is very close to a BB Couture polish I just reviewed! Sexy Centerfold is super similar in base color, but PZ has bigger shimmer particles.

Gotta Have Fate is a gorgeous orange coral, super creamy and opaque. This is also two coats. I swear I have a million corals, but I always want more! I think they look really nice on my skin tone. (The second photo of this looks a little muted, because the sun decided to hide and I only got one good sun picture.)

I usually love Barielle's polishes, glad they have new ones out. These are on sale at www.barielle.com for $8 each, and they are currently buy one get one 50% off. The three other polishes in this collection are really pretty too, Welcome-OHM is a crème plum, Do Unto Others is a blue/green jelly crème, and Buddha-ful is a beige with soft baby pink, blue, and light gray foil flakes. Check em out!

Polish Redemption: Barielle Elle's Spell

I had written off the red flakie polish that Barielle put out in their Holiday collection last year, Elle's Spell. It was just too thick and goopy and blech. But then I saw my girl Nailing It on tumblr layer it over a dark blurple, Orly's Wild Wisteria, on Tumblr. Um, WOWZA! I had to track it down again (I had foolishly swapped mine, 'doh!). Polish Pauper was gracious enough to trade with me and I got set layering this baby on everything I could get my hands on! Here is it is in it's original red splendor, one coat layered over two coats of Nubar Sateen.

Have a lovely day dearies :)

Barielle Elle's Spell

Everyone went crazy for this flaky red jelly polish when it came out for Holiday '10 from Barielle. Including me. Unfortunately, I found Elle's Spell to be glue-y and hard to apply, and rather boring on the nail. You may disagree but it just looks 1 billion times better in the bottle to me than actually on the nail. *sigh*
Have any nail lacquers you were lusting after caused you disappointment after you bought them? It doesn't happen to me often, and it's pretty sad times when it does.

Randoms

Love this brand :) From the UK, Barry M Strawberry Ice Cream.
Barielle's June Bug :) I adore unlikely color combos, especially when they include glitter!
Nicole by OPI Too Rich for You from the Gossip Girl collection. I don't watch the show, but my sister is pretty into it so she had to have the polishes. I had to swatch this one.
*Yawn* tired. Sleepy. I should hit the hay. Have a nice night sugar pies!

barielle high steppin' part 3

this is the last polish i have to show you from Barielle's High Steppin' collection 2010, electric boogie. it's my absolute favorite from the collection and definitely the star of the show. it's a metallic blue with teal glitter. i la la love when companies do polishes with contrast glitters! the formula on this one was a tad gloopey but i made it work. this is two coats.

i also wanted to wear it more than a day, and i had just found sally hansen's hidden treasure, a flakey iridescent polish, at walmart so i decided to see what electric boogie would look like w/ it layered on top. the results were fantastic! you can see so many colors come out of the flakes! you neeeeeed this polish. i've been putting hidden treasure over absolutely everything!
you can see part 1 here and part 2 here.

barielle high steppin' part 2

the next polish i have to show you in the high steppin' collection i got to share with AllYouDesire :) is called passion pirouette. it is a frosty purple metallic lacquer. the only reason i didn't love this completely was that it left heavy brush strokes. although, it is beautiful on AYD! maybe it is user error ;) this is two coats.

night moves is a metallic silver foil that has that uber sparkle factor. i was surprised at how easy it was to take off too, as it looks like it might have that dreaded glitter texture, but it glides on and off like a regular shimmer. love this!

slow motion is probably my least favorite from the collection. and i got really crappy pictures haha, so i apologize but i guess subconsciously my camera skills reflect my disdain for the polish. Barielle describes this as a light metallic lavender. i describe it as frosty ugly pinky lavender yuck. sorry, but i just did not like this at all. plus, brushstrokes = blech. this is two coats.

barielle high steppin' part 1

hello everyone! i hope that you all are having a wonderful tuesday :D i'm not exactly happy to be back to work after having a long weekend but what can you do. today i have a few swatches to show you all from Barielle's High Steppin' collection 2010. my lovely friend from AllYouDesire needed someone to relay the collection to her in the Czech Republic as Barielle couldn't send them to her directly so I was happy to oblige. She was generous enough to let me play with the collection before I sent them on to her so here are some pics of my fun with the goodies!

free style is a metallic minty-limey green with silver glitter. i used two coats. this color isn't my favorite, but it was surprisingly prettier than i had anticipated. and i honestly can say i've never seen anything quite like this!

belly dance is a nude taupe with slight shimmer. i think this is my second favorite out of the collection. very easy to wear and simple. this is two coats. this is very chic!
