Rescue Beauty Lounge Bloggers Collection 3.0 Swatches & Review

Today I'd like to show you the latest collection from Rescue Beauty Lounge, their third Bloggers collection! This time we have five shades created with the "newbie" bloggers that swatch & review for RBL. You may recall when I showed you the shade that I got to collaborate on a few years ago for the second bloggers collection, and the first collection with the original three bloggers from a few more years ago. These types of collections are always my favorites because they are colors from the brains of people who have experienced so many different types of polishes from lots of different brands and who know what they want down pat. Let's take a look!

MakeupWithdrawal is Mimi's color from the blog MakeupWithdrawal. She is gorgeous, has beautiful swatches and is an amazing photographer. Her pictures are seriously magazine worthy. This polish is a regal, decadent deep purple jelly with beautiful shimmer. I needed only two coats, but depending on your application you might need three due to the jelly finish.

Manicurator comes from Victoria over at the Manicurator blog. She's definitely a kindred spirit that I've come to know and adore through blogging and I am glad to call her a friend. Her nails and photos are flawless! This color totally makes me think of her, it's a blue-green crelly with soft blue flakies. This makes me think of an island vacation! It was a bit streaky on the first coat; I used two coats here but this is another one where you might need three.

Yukie, from the blog Yukie Loves and the YouTube channel WarmVanillaSugar0823, created Morning Light for her color. She is so adorable, I love her videos and seeing her posts on Instagram. She knows a lot about makeup and nails, and is so fun to watch! This polish was inspired by a painting her late father did, so it's in his honor. It's a light pale powder blue with angelic gold shimmer. This was almost a one coater, way more opaque than I expected. Two coats.

PeachyPolish.com was created by Valesha, from Peachy Polish of course. This chick is totally my long lost sister, we get along so well! I wish we lived close to each other so we could hang out :) Her skills are undeniable, she's one of the best bloggers on the planet. This color is so elegant and mysterious, it's a burgundy berry metallic microshimmer. It's got that finish where the brushstrokes just melt away and you're left with a gorgeous satiny surface. Super easy to paint with, opaque in 1 coat but I used two out of habit.

And last we have Lakeisha's color, Refined and Polished, from the blog of the same name. This gal is so friendly and wonderful, I am really glad to know her! She's about ready to have a baby too, yay! Her beautiful, long nail beds are swoon-worthy. This is a peachy coral crelly with gorgeous indigo blue glitter. It's very unique. This has a great application, you get a good amount of glitter out on each coat without even trying. Two coats, dries a bit satiny so use a top coat for maximum shine.

Make sure to check out the swatches from the other ladies, and read more about the inspirations from the collaborators on their blogs, as well as swatches from all the bloggers: Polish Police, Fashion Polish, Refined and Polished, Peachy Polish, Manicurator, Yukie Loves, and MakeupWithdrawal.

This collection will be available for pre-order starting 6/22 for 48 hours on www.rescuebeauty.com. Be sure to sign up for their newsletter to get the link to the pre-order. The polishes retail for $20 each. Let me know what you think of these colors! I think this is one of my favorite collections RBL has ever done, there is not a dud in the bunch!

Pretty Serious Cosmetics Stop Collaborate and Listen Collection Part 2 Swatches & Review

Hey there friends! Today I have a few new shades from Pretty Serious Cosmetics to add to their Stop Collaborate and Listen collection! This is a series made up of collaboration polishes the brand creates with nail polish bloggers, you can see the first installment here. I am always eager to see polish shades from the minds of bloggers, after all we know what's what in the polish world!

First is Kashmir, a shade created with Christine from Serenity Nails. That link goes to her blog post where she talks about her inspiration for the shade if you're interested. Christine's nails are amazing btw, you need to check her out! The polish is a red toned purple, leaning burgundy in some lights, with gold and copper flakes, color shifting shimmer in blue and purple and red opal flakes. This is a complex shade and I am in love with it! It was a little dense, but not thick. Perfectly opaque in two easy coats.

Iktsuarpok is "an Icelandic word that describes the feeling of anticipation of a visitor arriving imminently, thus leading you to keep looking outside to see if they’re there yet". It is the perfect name for this polish designed by Hannah of Polly Polish, though I can't pronounce it haha. Her blog is great, definitely swing by :) This polish is a medium grey, almost blue, jelly crème with silver glass fleck flakes. This has an incredible formula, thin but not runny and very opaque. This is two coats. It reminds me of a darker version of Illamasqua Raindrops. I love it!

And last is Herald of the Skeleton War designed by the inimitable Scrangie. If you don't know who she is, I don't even know what to say because she's the epitome of nail bloggers. I miss her posts like crazy, but you can still catch some swatches from her on Instagram. This is a blackened green jelly with iridescent blue flakes, golden green and purple microglitter and multi-sized purple hex glitter. This polish is kinda tricky and I got a little frustrated with it the first time I applied it. It wouldn't spread very easily on my nail the way I wanted it to, like I couldn't get a good line around my cuticle. And the second coat got sorta lumpy and dense. There is SO much glitter in it and the jelly base is really pigmented so it can get a little sludgy if you overwork it.

I talked to the brand maker and it's possible that I got a bum bottle with more glitter than normal and was offered a replacement, buuuut I decided to try it again before I completely wrote it off. I saw another blogger layer it over a dark green and I liked how that looked, so that's what I did here. This is one coat over OPI Christmas Gone Plaid and it's much better in my opinion, it looks like how I was hoping it would look like in the bottle. A thick top coat is a must because it dries kinda satin and not super smooth because of all the glitter. I love the uniqueness of this shade but just know it might take some extra care if you wear it by itself.

That last photo was taken a week later than the others and my nails have grown a ton! They tend to grow like weeds in the summer, which is kinda annoying unless I get a break because I have to file them so much more haha. #nailbloggerproblems

These are available now for $9.95 each at www.pretty-serious.com. They are based in Australia but they have a shipping location in the US so we do not have to pay international shipping, a major plus. What do you think of the newest installment of this collection? Props to all the collaborating bloggers, these are some dope shades!

Don't forget to enter my giveaway and I'll see you again soon!

Pretty Serious Stop! Collaborate and Listen Collection Swatches & Review

The collection I have to show you today is from Australian brand Pretty Serious called Stop! Collaborate and Listen!, three polishes they created with three awesome bloggers! I am an avid follower of all three of these ladies in the blog-o-sphere so it's exciting to see what awesome shades they came up with.

First in the collection is Swatch and Learn, a collaboration with Mary from the blog Swatch and Learn. It is a swampy green jelly with iridescent shifting rainbow glass fleck and copper & gold flakes. It's crazy awesome to see all the flakes shifting, you definitely need to see it in real life! It's a bit thick but not unworkable. This is three coats.

Next is Undercover Mermaid, a collaboration with Michelle from Lab Muffin. She wanted to create a work appropriate color with a secret bit of flash. This is a lilac taupe jelly with iridescent green flakies and subtle glass fleck shimmer that bounces out at you when you look up close. A tad sheer but it reached opacity for me with two coats.

And finally we have Stuck In the Middle, a collaboration with Kristy from The Polish Haven. It is a a bright fuchsia jelly with tons of iridescent glass fleck sparkle. This is really beautiful, a fabulous color with a great formula. Two coats here.

I was also able to try out one of Pretty Serious' new treatments, Crystal Coat quick dry top coat. I'm pretty picky when it comes to my top coats so this got a thorough testing. It dried pretty quickly to the touch but I was still able to scrunch up my polish if I pushed on it softly after 10 minutes. Also the brush made drag marks in my polish if I put it on while the polish was still very wet. I liked that it didn't shrink my polish at all, it dried very shiny, and it didn't have an offensive scent. I would use this when I have a little longer to wait for my polish to dry.

You can buy these from Pretty Serious for $9.95 each, or if you buy all three of the blogger colors at the same time you can get a 10% discount. The top coat is $8.95. What do you think of these blogger created shades? I think they're all super fun, and as a blogger who got to see my dream color come true, I totally relate to the awesomeness they must be feeling to see their shade come to life!

meeting gildedangel

i had a great saturday this weekend! so i am from utah, utah valley to be more specific, and i found out a while ago that me and gildedangel from Naive Nails blog and i live pretty close to each other! she lives a hop, skip, and a jump up north from me in the salt lake city area. how awesome is that?? so we of course had to plan a get together to meet and swap and go polish shopping.

it is way cool to finally get to talk to someone in person that you feel like you already kind of know thru blogging and twitter etc. although i did bring my (fellow polish fiend) friend mickelle with me just in case...haha :) we both had the best time with samantha (aka gildedangel)! we met up at Ulta, bought WAAAAY too much polish, then headed over to have lunch at Chipotle, mmmmm good, and then trekked to the closest mall to stake out their Trade Secret, Beauty Express, Icing, Claire's, and a bunch of other places. it was amazing and i love having a polish/blogger friend so close!

this is me and samantha in icing
mickelle buying waaaay too many earrings (she's so funny!)
this is samantha with the coolest most ridiculous "mink" muff thing on a chain we saw. i wanted it so bad, cuz it was so crazy haha!
this is me in forever 21 with a selection of their ugly hats and glasses, woo hawt!
samantha and i before we parted ways for the afternoon
samantha, me, and mickelle cheesing it up for the camera!
my haul from Ulta: ChG custom kicks, ChG sky high-top, ChG paper chasing, OPI in my back pocket, and essie st. lucia lilac
my swaps from samantha: sinful colors burgandy apple, OPI significant other color, OPI DS reflection, OPI bogota blackberry, and OPI fuchsia fling
