OPI Pink of Hearts 2014 Duo Swatches & Review

Hello there! Today I wanted to show you the new OPI Pink of Hearts duo they have out for Breast Cancer Awareness. This is the eighth year they have put out this promotion to raise awareness!

The first polish in the duo is stark pastel pink Mod About You. This is a classic shade that was originally released in 2006. Unfortunately my bottle leaked a little during shipping so I lost a bit, but that's better than it being broken *phew*! It was a little streaky on the second coat, though mostly opaque, so I used three here.

This is The Power of Pink, a pale pink crelly with confetti-like hex glitters in dark pink and white. This is a little thick but pretty easy to manipulate on the nail. It's still a bit see-through at two coats but I love the squishy effect!

I decided to see how the two polishes look layered over one another so here is one coat of The Power of Pink over Mod About You. This is a more opaque look for sure.

The pack also came with a little pink glitter nail file with a breast cancer ribbon charm. Pink of Hearts 2014 will be available September and October 2014 at Professional Salons, including Beauty Brands, beautybrands.com, Beauty First, Chatters, Dillard’s, Pure Beauty, Regis, Trade Secret, ULTA and ulta.com for $16.95 ($21.50 CAN) suggested retail. What do you think of the Pink of Hearts duo this year? I quite enjoy it.

OPI Pink of Hearts 2013 Set

OPI has once again put out a limited edition Pink of Hearts set for the month of October to raise awareness and money for breast cancer research. 2013 is their 7th year promoting the cause and they have included a solid pink polish, a multicolored glitter polish, and some nail art adornments in the pack.

This is Pink-ing of You, a permanent color in the OPI line. It's a beautiful light barbie pink jelly crème. It applies amazingly, just like most jelly crèmes do for me. Very shiny and self-leveling. No streaks here. This is three thin coats.
OPI Pink-ing of You

Next is More Than a Glimmer, a mix of different sized kinda greyed-out rainbow hex glitters in a milky pinkish white base. It's a cousin to such glitters mixes as in OPI Rainbow Connection, but the glitter colors are softer and with the base it's easy to wear on it's own. I found this relatively easy to apply for a polish with so much glitter in it. This is three coats.

The set includes 10 rhinestones and 10 pink ribbon decals to use for nail art. I am a hopeless dope with nail art of any kind, but I decided to take the plunge and try them. They turned out to be so easy to use! I used tweezers to pick them off the paper and stick them on my nails. I clipped off the edge of one of the stickers on my first try though, so I would advise an easy grip on them haha. What do you think of my super easy nail art look? I love this!

Pink of Hearts 2013 will be available through the month of October in Professional Salons, including Beauty Brands, Beauty First, Chatters, Dillard’s, jcp Salons, Pure Beauty, Regis, Trade Secret, ULTA and ulta.com for $15.95 ($19.95 CAN) suggested retail. BB Couture - We Love the TaTas

Yay! I'm all healed and back to old tricks :) The polish I've got to show you today is one that benefits a great cause from a great company. BB Couture has put out a new pink nail polish called We Love the TaTas to support breast cancer research. 50% of all the proceeds from the sale of this polish will be donated.

The polish is a pretty pink jelly packed full of tiny light gold glitters. It's not super opaque but it builds on itself pretty well. This is three coats in full sunlight.

This is a 10th of an ounce bigger than normal BB Couture bottles so the price is a little higher at $14.95 each, but when half the money goes to charity it doesn't seem like that big of a deal haha. You can buy it at BB Nail Polish or Overall Beauty. This is a limited edition color so grab yours while you can!

China Glaze - United

I picked up one polish from China Glaze's United in Purpose collection, promoting breast cancer awareness, from last fall. It's called United and it is spectacular! It's a collection of deep rose, warm pale gold, and holo glitter bits that shine and twinkle and amaze. It is the same formula as the two glitters in China Glaze's On Safari collection, really dense but very easy to apply. This is two coats.

You can still find this online at multiple e-tailers if you look. How do you like this? I'm still swooning over it :)

OPI Pink of Hearts 2012

OPI has released a duo pack of nail polishes in support of Breast Cancer Awareness called Pink of Hearts 2012. They will donate $25,000  in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October) to Susan G. Komen for the Cure®. They will also donate $5,000 to Rethink Breast Cancer in Canada. I of course support this cause and am happy to bring this post to you highlighting the cause and these promotional polishes.

This is I Think In Pink. This is a sheerish milky pale pink jelly crème hybrid that has a ridiculous shine. This is three coats. This is quintessentially girly and I love it. Great formula.

The second polish in the pack is called You Glitter Be Good to Me, a cool pale pink small sequin glitter with lots of larger pinky purple hexes. It's a nice polish to layer with, seen here as one coat over I Think In Pink.

I really prefer it by itself layered to opacity. It's a beautiful blingy glitter bomb and the larger glitter pieces blend better into the base. When it's more sparse your eye goes to them immediately and this way both types of glitter really compliment each other rather than compete. This is three coats.

The Pink of Hearts 2012 duo pack will be available September and October 2012 at  Professional Salons, including Beauty Brands, Beauty First, Dillard’s, JCPenney, Pure  Beauty, Regis, Trade Secret, and ULTA, for $14.95 ($20.95 CAN) suggested retail.  For more information, please call 800-341-9999 or visit www.opi.com.

i have a thing for squishy pinks. how many do i have? probably more than i'll ever need. this is probably one of my favorites. opi's pink of hearts 2, debuted for breast cancer awareness in 2008. i got this from a blog sale and even though it takes about 4ish coats, ugh, to get the bottle color, and there is bubbles galore in this mani, i don't care! it's squish-a-rific and adorable :)
what's your favorite squishy pink?

fingerpaints BCA polishes

i told you all a couple posts ago (here) about two polishes that FingerPaints had come up with to bring awareness to Breast Cancer during the month of October. now i have them to show you "in person"!

i'm a survivor is a bright candy pink with a wash of silvery/white shimmer that shows *just* enough through the color to make it a fun and exciting polish. exactly what i would want to wear to declare my "womanhood"!  plus i had that Destiny's Child song "i'm a survivor" stuck in my head the entire day i wore this haha.  the formula on this was absolutely awesome, three coats, no fuss.

i pink i can looks like it has the same silvery/white shimmer but this time it's in a baby pink opaque base color and it's a bit more subtle. very appropo for the Breast Cancer foundation, i think, as the awareness ribbon is after all, a medium/light pink. i had a bit of trouble with the application of this one, it was a bit thick but after i worked with it a bit it was ok. just make sure to allow the layers of polish to dry a bit between coats, think of it as a pastel almost. i might thin it the next time i use it, to make it easier though i think.  this is 3 coats.
these should be available at sally beauty starting in october, which is Breast Cancer Awareness month, for about $4.99.
