Different Dimension Halloween 2016 Poe. Collection Swatch & Review

Hey there folks! I have an awesome quartet of polishes from indie brand Different Dimension to show you today. It's the Poe. collection, inspired by the gothic literary stylings of Edgar Allan Poe, someone who I've been a fan of since I was a wee lass.

Once Upon a Midnight Dreary is a black jelly polish with hex glitters in orange, blue, purple, and green. I love the formula of these type of polishes from Different Dimension, they all apply easily, not too thin or thick. This is three coats. Perfect shade for the Halloween season!
Different Dimension Once Upon a Midnight Dreary

...Dream Within a Dream is a full coverage Halloween glitterbomb! Holographic silver microglitter with added tones of orange and black glitter in various shades and sizes. This is loaded UP with glitter, a little chunky but surprisingly easy to handle. I used three coats here to make it opaque, but you could also layer this one over a silver, orange, or black for an equally cool look. May require extra layer of top coat for a smooth finish.
Different Dimension ...Dream Within a Dream

Nevermore is a charcoal black linear holographic with added orange shimmers and orange microglitter bits. This was incredible, easy to apply and super opaque. The microglitter pieces can poke through a bit so I used two layers of top coat on this one. I've worn this twice since I got it!
Different Dimension Nevermore

And All I Loved, I Loved Alone is an orange jelly with holographic flakes. Love this type of formula, even, opaque and sparkly finish in a jelly! Such a great pumpkin-y shade for the season!
Different Dimension And All I Loved, I Loved Alone

New cuticle oil scents coming soon too! They will come in both pen (2.7 mL) and dropper (15mL) sizes, as well as new sample sizes, which are great for testing scent/fragrance sensitivities. This is the first time I've tried Different Dimension's cuticle oil and I am really pleased with them! I'm totally diggin the long lasting moisturizing qualities and scents.
Image via Different Dimension website

New cuticle oil scents are: Explore - Fresh pumpkin blended with orange peel, sweet carrot, ground cinnamon, clove bud, nutmeg and vanilla cream; Discover - A fresh and feminine fruity blend of mango and strawberries with grapefruit, freesia and amber and tonka bean; Journey - Notes of pink amber and vanilla wrap around blushed orchid and jasmine petals; and Drift - Ripe black raspberries are mixed with dark plum and warm vanilla.

The polishes and oils will be available on Friday 9/23 at 9pm EST on the Different Dimension website. Polishes will be priced at $12 each, except for Once Upon a Midnight Dreary which is specially priced at $5. There will be special discount pricing on the full collection for the first 24 hours of release, so mark your calendar! Let me know what you think of these new shades! I've got more Different Dimension for you very soon so keep your eyes peeled for them!

Glam Polish Ready...Set... GO! Collection [Partial] Swatches & Review

Mario Kart is literally the only video game I ever want to play. But I don't own it or a way to play it sadly. I've honestly considered buying a gaming console just to play Mario Kart, haha! Needless to say, I was SO down with the theme of Glam Polish's latest collection when I heard what it was. Ready...Set...GO! is a collection of twelve glitter polishes (well, one is actually a holo) inspired by the characters from the Mario Kart game and I have six of them to show you today!
Image via Glam Polish

All of these shades had the same formula, great and easy to apply like almost every Glam glitter polish I've tried. They are all opaque in two coats and dry slightly textured, like glitters do, so you'll want two layers of top coat for a smooth surface. Some of them have star shaped glitter, but they were pretty sparse so you may have to fish a bit to get them on the nail.

Mario Time! (inspired by Mario) has "cherry, blueberry, neon blue, white, red, micro and shaped glitters with ultra holo glitter in a holo base."
Glam Polish Mario Time!

Yeah Baby! (inspired by Lemmy Koopa) has "rainbow and yellow, micro and shaped glitters with ultra holo glitter in a holo base."
Glam Polish Yeah Baby!

Luigi Number One! (inspired by Luigi) has "blue, green, white, yellow, silver holo, micro and shaped glitters with ultra holo glitter in a holo base."
Glam Polish Luigi Number One!

Wario Always Win! (inspired by Wario) has "pink, magenta, yellow, white, micro and shaped glitters with ultra holo glitter in a holo base."
Glam Polish Wario Always Win!

Watch Out! (inspired by Yoshi) has "neon green, neon orange, green, orange, white, micro and shaped glitters with ultra holo glitter in a holo base."
Glam Polish Watch Out!

Wheels Up! (inspired by Toadette) has "neon pink, magenta, pink holo, white, micro and shaped glitters with ultra holo glitter in a holo base."
Glam Polish Wheels Up!

The remaining shades in the collection that I did not receive are: Pink Gold Peach! (inspired by Pink Gold Peach) is a "rose gold holo with pink/gold shimmering flakies"; Peach has Got It! (inspired by Princess Peach) has "neon pink, orchid, coral, bubblegum, white, micro and shaped glitters with ultra holo glitter in a holo base"; I’ll Get You Next Time! (inspired by Bowser) has "yellow, neon green, neon orange, white micro and shaped glitters with ultra holo glitter in a holo base"; Take That Losers! (inspired by Donkey Kong) has "red holo, copper holo, yellow, micro and shaped glitters with ultra holo glitter in a holo base"; Wheeeeee! (inspired by Rosalina) has "aqua, turquoise, white, micro and shaped glitters with ultra holo glitter in a holo base"; and Waluigi Lose! Impossible! (inspired by Waluigi) has "purple, navy, white micro and shaped glitters with ultra holo glitter in a holo base."

This collection releases on Friday, August 5th at 2pm EST (USA) on the Glam Polish website. Be sure to check out the rest of the collection, Glam Polish always posts photos on their Facebook page. What do you think of this collection? Are you a Mario Kart fan?

Girly Bits Sweet Nothings Collection Swatches & Review

Hey folks, today I have the Girly Bits Sweet Nothings collection, a top coat, and one bonus shade to share with you today! I have only tried a few polishes from them in the past so I was really stoked to be able to review a full collection for you on my blog! This 7 piece collection was inspired by sweet French Macarons, and their delicate texture.

Mon Chéri is a mid tone blush pink crelly that leans slightly peach, with peach and gold shimmer and platinum silver shimmer. This applied easily and went on smooth and streak-free. I used two coats here for full opacity.
Girly Bits Mon Cheri

Mon ChouChou is a mid tone lilac crelly, with pink and blue shimmer, and platinum silver shimmer. This one seemed a bit sheer on one coat so depending on your application you may need three coats, as I did. Even though it was less opaque than Mon Cheri, it flowed onto the nail nicely and was not streaky.
Girly Bits Mon Chou Chou

Mon Petit Canard is a pastel yellow crelly, with copper and platinum silver shimmer. This one was a tad streaky, but really minimally. I used three coats on this guy for full coverage. I'm a sucker for soft yellows so this is so cute to me!
Girly Bits Mon Petit Canard

Bleu de tes Yeux is a sky blue crelly with blue and platinum silver shimmer. Same formula as Mon Cheri, no streaks and opaque in two coats. I love the little flecks of darker blue in this, it makes it very dimensional!
Girly Bits Bleu de tes Yeux

J’ai Besoin de Toi is a light, almost dusty, sage green crelly with platinum silver shimmer. This was similar to the yellow shade, slightly streaky, but I would still classify this as a having a good formula. I used two layers here, but it you do thinner coats, you may need three.
Girly Bits J’ai Besoin des Toi

Bonbon D’Amour is an opaque white crelly with a mix of neon circle glitter, smaller pastel glitter, and purple metallic flakes. The base of this had a lovely consistency, not too thick or thin with good pigmentation. I used two coats and needed some placement to get the glitters to lay in a pleasing way on my nail, which is pretty typical for these type of crelly glitters. You'll want a layer of thick top coat to get a smooth finish, but probably just one.
Girly Bits Bonbon D’Amour

Tarte au Sucre is a real stunner! It's a lilac microglitter accented with silver holographic, red shimmer and multi colored iridescent glitter pieces. I found this to have excellent coverage, needing only two coats for full opacity. Dries gritty so you will need one or two layers of a thick top coat for smoothness. The iridescent glitters really POP in lower lights, but I didn't get a good picture of it in the shade, unfortunately. Just take my word for it ;)
Girly Bits Tarte au Sucré

I used their Glitter Glaze top coat over Tarte au Sucre. This top coat is a quick drying glossy top coat with a slightly thicker viscosity than their regular top coat formula, What A Rush, and is designed for smoothing out glitter or textured polishes. This applied well and dried quickly. Upon full dry down over the glitter, I did still feel minimal "bumps" but they were not rough to the touch, if that makes sense. I would probably still layer one more coat to get a completely smooth surface, at least over the glitter I tried it with.
Girly Bits Glitter Glaze

And the bonus shade, Razzle Dazzle 2.0, is a re-launch of the original, first release in 2011. It is a raspberry scattered holographic microglitter with pops of copper, blue and deep pink in a sheer fuchsia jelly base. This can be layered or used by itself. I built it up here in three coats. There is still slight "gaps" where you can see the base of your nail, so if that bothers you I would layer it over a similarly colored raspberry polish. This is very blingy!
Girly Bits Razzle Dazzle 2.0

The Sweet Nothings collection, top coat and Razzle Dazzle 2.0 are available on the Girly Bits website now for $12.91 USD each. Please be aware that they ship from Canada, in case you are located in another country. What do you think of these? My favorites are Mon Cheri, J'ai Besoin des Toi and Tarte au Sucré. But I really enjoyed all of them! Have you tried Girly Bits yet?

KBShimmer Spring 2016 and Mega Flame Collections Swatches & Review

Hey cookies! This has been another crazy week! Can a sista get a break or what? Hope your week has been well! I have the two new KBShimmer collections to show off today, the Spring 2016 collection and the Mega Flame collection.

KBShimmer Prints Charming is the first in the Spring collection. She has a white crelly base with multisized glitters in deep fuchsia, turquoise, and sapphire. Applies easily and I got this opaque in only two coats.
KBShimmer Prints Charming

KBShimmer Purr-fectly Paw-some is part of their Ultra Flair line up, which means it's crazy holographic! This is a pale, dusty moody blue linear holographic polish with steel gray and lavender undertones. It's a twist on a traditional periwinkle shade, created based on the Pantone 2016 Spring/Summer shade Serenity. Great application, but it's easy to overload your brush so be sure to watch that so you don't get pooling. Two coats.
KBShimmer Purr-fectly Paw-some

KBShimmer Hello Dahlia is a dusty orangey peach crelly with sparkly holographic microdust and golden micro flakes. This shade is based on the Pantone 2016 Spring/Summer shade Peach Echo. I found this lady to be a little thick but not overwhelming or difficult to apply. This is two coats.
KBShimmer Hello Dahlia

KBShimmer Pools Paradise is a lightened aqua crelly with little pops of neon pink, periwinkle and aqua glitters. This shade is based on the Pantone 2016 Spring/Summer shade Limpet Shell. I found the application on this to be lovely. I got nice coverage on two coats but if you tend to do thinner ones, you may need three.
KBShimmer Pools Paradise

KBShimmer Peony Pincher is another Ultra Flair, this time in a linear holographic pastel lavender. This had the same application as Purr-fectly Pawsome, except this covers completely one coat! I used two here anyway.
KBShimmer Peony Pincher

KBShimmer I Wet My Plants has a pastel muted periwinkle crelly base featuring a "garden full" of colorful glitters in dark pink, sapphire, silver and purple. This color is based on the Pantone 2016 Spring/Summer shade Serenity. This seemed a bit runny to me, so I would recommend not getting too much polish on your brush for easier application. Only two coats here!
KBShimmer I Wet My Plants

KBShimmer Upside Round is a special one! This is a glitter topper, filled with neon circle glitters in a rainbow of bright shades and tiny circles in red in a clear base. I used one coat, with some glitter placement, over Hello Dahlia. This combination reminds me of a clown at a summer birthday party!
KBShimmer Upside Round

Now on to the Mega Flame holo collection! These are the same type of formula as fan favorites Alloy Matey, I Feel Gourd-geous, and Sun and Games, featuring holographic microglitters in tinted bases. I found them to give full coverage in just 2 coats. They all apply really nice and evenly, not chunky like some ultra microglitters can get. I found them all to dry a bit textured, and they are very thirsty. They might appear smooth on one coat of top coat, but they suck it in fast so you'll need at least one more for a glassy, shiny finish.

KBShimmer Stalk Market is a near celery green yellow. I adore this soft citrine shade!
KBShimmer Stalk Market

KBShimmer Night Bright has a deep black base that makes the glitter look like stars in a faraway galaxy!
KBShimmer Night Bright

KBShimmer Ripe For The Pink-ing is a raspberry pink, a berry color with blue undertones. This makes me crave fruity desserts for some reason!
KBShimmer Ripe For The Pink-ing

KBShimmer Smells Like Green Spirit is a "twisted citrus" green, a shade of deep lime. We all know I'm crazy for greens, so yes I like this one too!
KBShimmer Smells Like Green Spirit

KBShimmer Things That Make You Go Bloom is a kind of soft greyed out lilac purple. The softest of the glitter shades, very demure while maintaining crazy sparkle!
KBShimmer Things That Make You Go Bloom

KBShimmer So Flamous is a copper leaning peach, a muted orange tone. I find this is too close to my skin tone to look super flattering but I do like the color.
KBShimmer So Flamous

KBShimmer Set In Ocean is a sparkling deep aqua blue. Very sea worthy and possibly my favorite of the mega flames!
KBShimmer Set In Ocean

All of these polishes are available on the KBShimmer website now for $9.25 each. Let me know which collection you like best of the two! I can't pick a favorite really, basically everything KBShimmer does fascinates me! Have a great Friday y'all!

Glam Polish Friendship is Sparkly Limited Edition Trio Swatches & Review

Good morning! I hope your day is going well so far :) I have a new trio from Glam Polish to show you today, yay! These shades are in a trio called Friendship is Sparkly, inspired by the animated tv show My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. I personally watch this show and I freaking love it! It's definitely not just for the kiddos haha. The three shades are all blingy holographic polishes with holo and circle glitters.

Glam Polish Cutie Pox has a holographic base tinted with a mix of silver ultra holo glitter and pastel rainbow of small and micro-sized dot glitter. This applied very easily, like most Glam Polish shades that I've tried. It did seem a little see-through on two coats though, so I used three. This is my favorite of the three!
Glam Polish Cutie Pox

Glam Polish Bridle Gossip has a holographic base tinted with turquoise glass flecks and a mix of ultra holo glitter, iridescent glitter and small dot glitter. This one felt a little thicker, almost a little gummy feeling. I only needed two coats on this one though.
Glam Polish Bridle Gossip

Glam Polish Pink Fluffy Unicorns Dancing on Rainbows also has a holographic base, this time tinted with slightly purpley pink glass flecks and a mix of ultra holo glitter, iridescent glitter and small dot glitter. This applied nicely, but was a little more sheer, much like Cutie Pox. I only used two coats here, and while it seemed pretty opaque indoors, in the bright light you can see through to my nail a bit. I would recommend three coats on this one.
Glam Polish Pink Fluffy Unicorns Dancing on Rainbows

These dry with a tiny bit of bumpiness due to the glitter, so you'll want a thick top coat to make them completely smooth. They will be available for purchase on Friday, March 4th at 1pm EST (US) on the Glam Polish website for $11.50 each or $33 for the trio. This is a limited edition set and could sell out quickly so don't hesitate to pick them up if you want them. What do you think of these three sparkly ponies? Do you like MLP??

Nine Zero Lacquer Holiday Collection Swatches & Review

I'm back again to show off the new Holiday collection from indie brand Nine Zero Lacquer! This is a set of six holiday shades, with a special duo of holographic glitter toppers thrown in! These will all go on sale tomorrow, so let's take a look at them today! :)

Twinkle Lights is a silver linear holographic with multisized semi-transparent multicolored glitters that pop against the bright base. This is a super unique polish, I don't think I've seen anything like this before. It was a little sheer on the first coat, but you might be able to get away with two as it build up nicely. I used three coats for full opacity on my nails. The holo was nice and strong on this, pictures don't do it justice.
Nine Zero Lacquer Twinkle Lights

Santa Suit is a lovely bright red jelly filled with teensy tiny holographic microglitters. Very seasonal and adorable! I had no trouble with this, great formula. It was opaque in two coats.
Nine Zero Lacquer Santa Suit

Cat In The Christmas Tree is a pine green jelly with holographic gold microglitter. The glitter in this is a little bigger than in Santa Suit, it's a little more in your face. I love greens in general, and when you add gold to it, you've got me head over heels! This was effortless to apply and was opaque in two coats.
Nine Zero Lacquer Cat In The Christmas Tree

Star On Top is a holographic gold microglitter in a clear base. This can be worn on its own or layered over another color. I used three coats to make it opaque by itself. It builds up well, making multiple coats easy. And it dries quickly which is nice. Gold has always been my preference over silver and this glitter is making me swoon!
Nine Zero Lacquer Star On Top

A Peculiar Star has a deep blue jelly base with holographic navy blue microglitter. The glitters pop out in turquoise and green at certain angles, making it look very multidimensional. It's a little thicker than the other glitters, maybe due to the slightly larger glitters. This was opaque in two coats for me.
Nine Zero Lacquer A Peculiar Star

Stocking Stuffer has a clear base filled with different sizes and shapes of red, matte white, green, gold, silver and iridescent glitters. This is a perfect holiday glitter, all the traditional colors in one! I layered one coat over Santa Suit. There was tons of glitter pay off with this and it only required a little bit of manipulation to place the glitters where I wanted them.
Nine Zero Lacquer Stocking Stuffer

Here is Sparkle All The Things (Gold) and Sparkle All The Things, their two new layering glitters. These are micro-mini holographic glitters in a clear base. The base is not super heavy so they are lovely to use. Sparkle All The Things (Gold) is gold...obvs, and Sparkle All The Things is silver.
Nine Zero Lacquer Sparkle All The Things!! duo

I used two coats of each over a black crème. The silver is on my pointer and ring fingernails, so the gold is on the middle and pinky nails. They are both fabulous. If you are familiar with China Glaze Fairy Dust, these are very similar. They're super blingy in person!
Nine Zero Lacquer Sparkle All The Things!! duo

All of these shades and the Thanksgiving Trio I showed the other day will be available tomorrow, November 13th on the Nine Zero Lacquer website at 11 am EST. The Sparkle toppers will be $8 each and the Holiday polishes are all $9.50, except for Stocking Stuffer which is $9. Sound off in the comments about this collection! Do you love it? How 'bout them holo glitters??

ALIQUID Lacquer Adopt A Shelter Dog Charity Polish Swatch & Review

Happy October my cookies! This year has totally flown by, I don't know where it has gone! I have a special polish from indie brand ALIQUID Lacquer to show you today, a charity polish that benefits the ASPCA for Adopt a Shelter Dog Month! Below is the press release for the polish they created called See Spot Run.
October is Adopt a Shelter Dog Month! This limited edition polish will only be available in October. We will donate $5 from each purchase to the ASPCA! Each order will also include a free magnet featuring our dog Trudy's pawprint (it's the perfect size for your Helmer drawer!). We're aiming to collect $500, but we can only do it with your help!
About 3.9 million dogs enter U.S. shelters every year, and 1.2 million dogs are euthanized (800,000 of them pit bulls and pit bull mixes like Trudy). Adopt a Shelter Dog Month seeks to call attention to the plight of these animals and to encourage people to adopt dogs rather than going to a breeder.
The vision of the ASPCA is "a humane community in which all animals are treated with respect and kindness." Donations to the ASPCA support a variety of causes, including:
  • Grants to shelters nationwide
  • Spay/neuter and microchipping programs
  • Adoption, fostering and relocation programs
  • Investigation and seizure of abused animals
  • Lobbying for anti-cruelty legislation
See Spot Run has a sapphire blue jelly base with a mix of circle and hex glitters in pink, purple, red, blue and silver with silver holographic microglitter and aqua sparks. This was a little bit sheer due to the jelly-ness, so I built it up in three coats. I love the complex look of the glitters through the base, it reminds me of a pond with flowers peeking out from the depths!
ALIQUID Lacquer See Spot Run
ALIQUID Lacquer See Spot Run

This polish will only be available in the month of October from ALIQUID Lacquer's website. You can purchase it for $11 and $5 of that will go to the ASPCA! I love dogs, and all of my animals have been rescued from shelters, so this cause is near and dear to my heart. Since I received this polish for review, I have donated the $5 that would've been given to the ASPCA had I purchased this.

This is a lovely polish and it is supporting a fabulous cause, so help them beautiful puppies and kitties today and adopt or donate or purchase this polish! Love ya!

My Picks from the Delush Scream Supreme Collection Swatches & Review

Hey everyone! I'm back today with some gorgeously goulish polishes from the Scream Supreme collection that Delush Polish put out for last Halloween, inspired by the macabre anthology type TV show American Horror Story. I've recently become enamored with the show, so I had to grab some of the polishes! I picked up three, but there are seven colors in the collection.

A Night In the Asylum is named for my favorite season of the show so far, season 2 Asylum. It has a teal-y turquoise jelly base that gets deeper with every subsequent layer, holographic glitter in hexes and dots and large holographic circles. There is a bit of thickness that is typical of jelly polishes with larger glitters, so it takes thin coats and a little placement of the pieces for best results. I used three coats here with a thick layer of top coat. You could also layer one coat over a teal or black and get a more opaque look.
Delush Polish A Night In the Asylum

The Supreme is the title of AHS star Jessica Lange's character in season 3 Coven. She is the Supreme witch and this polish definitely fits that vibe, it's fierce! It has a dark blood-like burgundy purpley jelly base with metallic and iridescent glitters, mostly red but there are some blue and purpley bits in there. Excellent glitter payoff and easy to apply! I used three thin coats. This is darker indoors, in full sunlight the jelly base really gets illuminated.
Delush Polish The Supreme

Bitchcraft is also themed for season 3, it's the name of the first episode of Coven. It's a black jelly with squares, hexes and large holographic circles in shades of pink. I found the formula on this one to be the most thick so I tried to use very thin coats and it worked out well. This is three with a thick layer of top coat. You could layer this over a black crème too.
Delush Polish Bitchcraft

I purchased these three shades from Delush Polish for $8.95 each. I am lucky they were still available to buy, thanks for keeping these around until I learned about the amazingness of AHS, Adrianna! These are really fab Halloween polishes, I'm in rapture! What do you think of them?? Do you watch American Horror Story? The new season starts in October and Lady Gaga will be in it!
