OPI Pure Lacquer Nail Apps

I'm sure most of you have heard of nail polish appliques, made popular most recently by Sally Hansen. I was excited to hear that OPI had finally jumped on the bandwagon to make some of their own. The concept is pure nail lacquer in precut strips providing an instant manicure. These strips are shiny and offer zero dry time. The new OPI Pure Lacquer Nail Apps come in 14 different designs right now, ranging from edgy designs like snake print and feminine lace. Combining base and color in one convenient product, Nail Apps adhere to nails in seconds and can be stretched for a perfect fit. Each pack contains 16 strips to ensure perfect sizing for all finger and toe nails.

The first design I was able to try out is called Metallic Waves, a multicolored glitter base with a black zebra print overlay. I am hopeless at nail art, like beyond bad at it. But I love it so much, it's depressing that I can't even achieve simple designs. Nail apps like these make it possible!

I had to try out this design, Pink and Black Lace. This looked so beautiful so I knew I would love it on. It ended up not being my favorite after all, the feather part of the lace design isn't on all of the strip so some of it was just the mesh print, which is fine but I would've preferred the whole nail with the fancier part.

I would compare these to Incoco strips in terms of application and quality. The glitter design was a little easier to apply than the pink lace, it also removed easier. The lace design left bits of black on my hands that I had to scrub off. They do remove pretty easy though. I wore these for a few days and they looked about the same as the first day I put them on. I think these are most beneficial to someone like me who changes their polish so often, to wear on a vacation or during a time where I wouldn't be able to switch polish for a while. The hardest part to making these look nice for me is not scraping off the edge when I file off the excess strip at the end of my nail, it makes it look like I have tipwear when I shouldn't. Other than that, these are easy-peasy to apply.

Pure Lacquer Nail Apps are available at Professional Salons, including Beauty Brands, Beauty First, Chatters, Dillard’s, JCPenney, Pure Beauty, Regis, Trade Secret, and ULTA, for the suggested retail price of $11.95. Guest Post by The Polishaholic: Sephora Nail Bling - Black Rainbow

Hi kittens! Please enjoy this guest post by my sista from another mista, Jen from The Polishaholic!

Hi guys!!! I am SO beyond excited to do this guest post for Kellie. Mostly because I have such a nail crush on her and she is seriously one of the sweetest girls I have had the pleasure of getting to know while blogging. I'm pretty excited for what I'm showing you guys today too so I hope you all like it as much as I do!

The other day I wandered into Sephora hoping to find some Nails Inc. polishes, I didn't find them so I ended up buying a whole bunch of other stuff instead. One of the nail things I picked up was Sephora's brand of nail decals. I believe they have a few different kinds, these ones say Nail Bling on the packaging and the design is called Black Rainbow. I have to say, I love nail decals. I fail at 99% of nail art so these work for me because they are typically very easy to use. Sephora had a bunch of different designs but I was drawn to these because they have some texture to them, the colorful dots are actually raised up, I don't think any amount of top coat would cover them. Normally I don't like texture on my nails but these are so cool, I keep feeling my nails like a big weirdo haha! Hopefully you guys can see the texture in the picture I took from the side!
Alright so, these were super easy to apply...because of the texture they are thick which means they are easy to reposition if needed. My only issue was that the thickness also made for filing off the extra decal a pain in the butt! They were a bit ragged and scratchy at the ends (not as bad as they look though, macro is a bish). I've had these on for 2 days and they are lasting surprisingly well, even after lots of hand washing, showers and filing all day at work. I would most definitely buy these again! I got a ton of compliments on these and everyone was really loving the texture (yes, I was not the only weirdo feeling my nails haha)

Wowsa that was wordy! Thank you Kellie for the opportunity to do a fun guest post! Have a good day everyone!

Jen

Isn't she the sweetest?! I really adore Jen, meeting her in Las Vegas a few weeks ago was seriously a dream come true! We got along so well it's like I've known her my whole life! *muah* Love ya babe!

Incoco Suit Up

I've showed you a few Incoco manicures before, the dry nail polish appliques that you apply kind of like a sticker. I absolutely have loved each one I've tried and when I heard they came out with some new art designs I couldn't have been more excited for them.
This glitzy houndstooth design is called Suit Up. I really like this set, but it was a bit thicker and harder to manipulate during application than previous Incoco appliques I've used. I assume this is because of the design intricacy, there are more layers of polish. I do think that Incoco products are the easiest and best dry nail appliques on the market, bar none. And I've used quite a lot of them, which I will review soon. Anyway, these wear the best, seriously forever, like almost two weeks. And they conform to my nails the best out of any other brand. I had a bit of trouble with this particular design but what can ya do, I'm not perfect.
Do you dig this design? I have more to show you soon :)

EDIT: You can purchase Incoco products like this from their website, Incoco.com.

incoco dry nail appliques

even i get tired of painting my nails. not very often, mind you haha, as i DO do it almost every single day, but there are those evenings when i just want to fall into bed and sleep. but i do want to change my polish. what is the solution? well one option is to use quick and easy dry nail appliques, like incoco. there is no polish smell, minimal mess and best of all, no dry time! this would probably be the best option for vacation manicures, or for people who like having a nice color on their nails but don't like actually polishing them.
my first experience with incoco was picking up a discounted package of them at walgreens one evening while perusing the aisles one late night. i think i got them for a bargain price of less than $2, but they're usually $7.99. this is a discontinued color i believe, and i cannot find the name of it anywhere (oops!) but it is stunning. the package did not show it's radiance and shimmer, i thought it was a plain jane red, but it is anything but. i had a bit of application trubs, as you can see, and the ridges on my nails stand out, which i didn't care for. i wore this mani only one day, because i couldn't stand not changing my nail look haha, but i did like the look of how clean it was.

my next incoco experience was even better, i believe they revamped their entire line and added lots more colors, including glitter, neon, french tips, and glitter tips to their inventory. the application and actual feel of the strip was waaay better the second go around as well, i thought. this is a silver glitter polish, called bling, bling. GORGEOUS! i wore this mani for a week straight, no chips, rips, etc. and best of all, it stayed shiny, there were no bumps like most glitter polishes, and i got TONS of compliments! no one could believe they were stickers! i think these are great for long-wear polishes, maybe not for people who change their polish often. but they are what they are and i think they're great for that.

this is rouge copper, a stunning pink glitter. i also got a lot of compliments on this look. i wanted to grow my nails a bit after i cut them the last time, so wore this look for a few days to let my nails settle so i wouldn't be tempted to mess with them haha. sigh, i love how the glitter just sparkles and sparkles in these without going dull! (this is a blackberry photo so sorry for the bad quality! i guess i forgot to get a proper camera pic of this :P)
if you have questions about the application, please visit incoco's website HERE and my friend Asami from Nails by Asami has a great video about them HERE.

the remover that came with the strips in the tub, is excellent.  the tub form has a sponge inside with three holes/slots for you to stick your fingers in where you soak/rub your fingers in and seriously your polish just disappears!  and it only takes a few seconds.  i find myself using this for regular polish removal, not just when i use my incoco strips haha!  the little packets have felt soaked in polish remover.  these work amazing also to get rid of the strips or regular polish, i find them especially helpful for the removal of glitter polish!  have you tried incoco strips?  what do you think of them?  i think the price is a bit high, but like i said before, they are great for long term wear and are genuinely great products for what they do.

also, Incoco has generously offered a 10% discount off your entire purchase on Incoco.com - just enter "BGAKG10" at checkout :)  have a great day!
