So I showed you the Essie Winter 2016 collection a little while ago and today I thought I'd share my picks from the Essie Fall 2016 collection. This is a six piece collection inspired by Japan, though I'm not sure the exact name. I've seen it called the Fall Into Japanese collection and also Kimono-Over. Either way, I bought four of the shades that tickled my fancy.
Udon Know Me is a dusty stone blue crème. This is thick but nice to apply. I did end up using three coats, it still looked a tad streaky to me on two. I'm obsessed with this color.
Go Go Geisha is a pale muted pink crème. This was just as thick as Udon, but covered evenly on two coats. I realized after I bought this it's a dupe for Zoya's Brittany, one of my favorite shades from 2015, but that one has a "satin" finish while this dries shiny.
Now And Zen is a subdued grey crème. Another thick formula, but easy to apply and opaque in two coats. I can't resist colors like this, they are must haves for me.
Playing Koi is a medium/deep rust orange. This has more of a jelly crème formula, it took me three coats to get a non-streaky, opaque finish but I didn't mind because it ends up looking so juicy! Dries a bit darker than it looks in the bottle. A great pumpkin-y fall color.
The two colors I didn't pick up from the collection are Kimono-Over, a purple jelly crème, and Maki Me Happy, a deep crimson berry jelly crème. This collection should probably still be in most stores still. Essie is sold in Ulta and in most drugstores like CVS and Walmart and on Essie.com. I purchased mine from Transdesign.com. Did you pick any colors up from the Fall collection?

Essie Winter 2016 Getting Groovy Collection Swatches & Review
Hi there, today I have a new collection from Essie to show you! The Winter 2016 Getting Groovy collection is inspired by the party scene in London during the "swinging sixties". The names are hilarious and take me right into an Austin Powers movie haha. Let's take a look at this six piece collection!
Getting Groovy is a metallic "palladium gold" foil. This formula was easy to apply but could gunk up against itself if you do too many brushstrokes. This covers in one coat, but I did two here.
Oh Behave! is a peach frost with gold shimmer. The formula was pretty thin but surprisingly not difficult to use. This is two coats.
Party On the Platform is a garnet red crème. Slightly thin formula, no difficulty though. Two coats on this guy. I would caution you against staining though, I had a tinge of red around my cuticles after I removed this.
Go With the Flowy is a pale dove gray with super subtle silver shimmer. This seemed a bit streaky but became opaque and even on the second coat. I kind of floated the second layer on, which I think helped from having the streaks reappear.
Satin Sister is a deep peacock blue jelly crème. Lovely to apply, but may also be a stainer. It's quite pigmented despite it's jelly-ish formula. Two coats for full opacity.
Ready to Boa is a dark bronzed mahogany shimmer. Excellent formula, opaque in one coat but I used two here.
This collection should be in stores pretty soon, if not already. Essie is available at most drugstores like CVS, along with Ulta Beauty and Walmart, as well as online at Essie.com. What are your thoughts on this winter set? Oh Behave! is a surprising favorite for me, it reminds me of older formula polishes which I love. Have a great week friends!

My Picks from the Essie Summer 2016 Collection Swatches & Review
So even though school started here last Monday, and I've already had my first Pumpkin Spice Latte of the season, it's still technically summer right? Since it's not Labor Day yet?? I'm going with it! Anyway, here are probably the last summer polishes I'll be showing this year, two I bought from the Essie Viva Antigua collection. The other four shades in the collection were nice, but not must haves for my stash.
Viva Antigua! is a sparkling turquoise with iridescent micro flakies of shimmer. The application on this was really nice, great formula. I used two coats for full opacity.
Loot The Booty is a radiant blue sapphire with micro flakies of pale shimmer that shine blue in the base. Awesome color, amazing formula. Practically paints itself on! Two coats here too. The name of this still makes me giggle.
I purchased these from my local CVS. They should still be available wherever Essie is sold, like Ulta, Target, and most drugstores. Did you pick up any colors from this collection? Are you sad summer shades are leaving us and that fall shades are coming out? We all know I'm a heathen for fall, but I gotta give my summer polishes credit, they are so great!

Essie Resort 2016 Collection Swatches & Review
Hey, what's up, hello :) I hope you've been having a nice weekend my friends! I bought this mini set from Essie a while ago, their Resort collection for 2016, and I figured I would show them to you today! There are four colors in the set, influenced by "the magnificent fashion, diverse culture and sheer beauty of India."
Delhi Dance is a slightly dusty bubblegum pink crème. I usually seem to struggle with shades like this but it went on really easily and was streak-free! I needed just two coats.
Going Guru is a warm spring mint green crème. There's a lot of yellow in this, different from most of the "mint" polishes in my collection. This is so my type of color, swoon! Another surprisingly great formula, though I needed three coats for this guy to cover 100%.
Taj-Ma-Haul is a unique shade of orange, more of a pale terracotta clay. I was in love with this in the bottle and fell even harder for it when I put it on my nails. Amazing application for this one, it was almost a one coater, but I opted for two to get a little richer color payoff.
Nama-Stay The Night is that sexy bright pigmented blue that everyone goes gaga for, I know I did! Absolutely wonderful to apply, almost a one coater again but I chose to do two to get the color in the bottle. I didn't wear this for long, but I didn't have any staining to speak of. However, I would recommend two coats of base and careful removal anyway just to be safe.
I purchased this mini set from Transdesign online, but you can also find Essie polishes in drugstores like CVS and Target, as well as Ulta. What do you think of this set? I am honestly in love! I'm looking forward to trying more Essies soon, as my tiny town is finally getting an Ulta store so the new colors will be more accessible, wahoo! Have a great day!

Essie Retro Revival: Starry Starry Night Swatch & Review
Hey cookies! How are you doing? Did you have a good Christmas (if you celebrate it)? I had a nice low-key time with family, it was nice. I got this polish a few days ago, as soon as I was able to order it I had it in my cart. Essie has brought out six of their retired shades in a "retro revival" collection, and the most exciting poop-your-pants color they chose to bring back is iconic Starry Starry Night. The other shades don't really interest me, but you can see them on my friend Karen's blog.
I've wanted this polish since I can remember being interested in polish, but never found it. And I wasn't going to pay ridiculous Ebay prices for it, considering there have been some half-decent dupes created by indie brands in the last few years. The original polish has a navy blue jelly base, kinda muted, with diamond dust silver microglitter. Doesn't sound super groundbreaking right now, but honestly it was a big damn deal when it first came out, which is hard to pin down, but I think the first release was back in the 1980's.
Starry Starry Night (revival) has a squishy jelly base in a vibrant navy blue, with silver hex microglitter pieces. The cap on all the revival shades have gold four point stars on the cap, which is pretty cute. The formula wasn't the easiest to paint with, the jelly base was thick and kinda gummy, harder to spread over the nail than I would prefer. This took three coats to cover completely, because of the difficulty in spreading it left streaks on two.
The revival recipe is quite different from the original, from the base color to the size and amount of glitter pieces, and I've seen some comparisons (here and here) that will show you just how much this version differs. *le sigh* I am glad I have this one, but my craving for the original is still strong. I really don't know why it wasn't possible for them to make it look the same. It was even re-released at least twice from what I can gather, and those times it look the same! Damn it Essie, what happened this time?!
I picked up my bottle on Beauty.com for $8.50 but it looks like it's sold out right now. It's available on Ulta.com in a mini pack, not sure of any other places yet, but it should be on shelves at the places Essie is usually sold in January. Did you pick this up? If you haven't yet, are you going to? Do you think I should give up hope on getting the original and just settle for one of the dupes?? Have a good day and I'll see you again soon :)

Nail Polish I Wore In Real Life Vol. 6
It's that time again, more nail polishes I actually wore in real life! I have been slacking on the manis lately :( Stress and zero time equal no time for an actual manicure. I definitely need to pick it up!
Essie Where's My Chauffeur? came out back in the Winter 2012 collection, but I just barely acquired it from my local Marshalls. I had wanted it back when it first came on the scene but for some reason I didn't get any of that collection. It's a fabulous mid-tone turquoise crème with a great formula, which is always reason to celebrate when it comes to Essie. ;) Two coats.
HARE Polish Washed Ashore came out in the Late Summer 2013 Tropics Are Calling collection. I bought this and three other polishes from that collection, one I blogged about here. This is a soft pink crelly with pearly grey, white and icy blue glitter in hex and square shapes along with shimmer. I also spy some of those iridescent glitters that appear yellowy until they lay on top of another color then look kinda reflect-y purple & blue. Le sigh, how gorgeous is that?? Three coats for full opacity.
Ugh, I cannot believe I haven't worn this until now! WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME?! No really, with all the days that I have gone without wearing anything on my nails, it's really sad to think about all my poor neglected untrieds waiting for me to deign to put them on my tips. I should be ashamed.
Essie polishes can be purchased in most drugstores like CVS, Rite Aid, etc. along with Ulta. Like I mentioned, I found this in Marshalls so I don't know if this shade is readily available or not. HARE polish is sold on their Etsy site, but sadly Washed Ashore is not available for purchase right now. She sometimes brings shades out of retirement though, so keep your eyes peeled! Love ya, talk more soon :)

Nail Polish I Wore In Real Life Vol. 5
Hey hey hey! I've got two more polishes that I've worn in real life recently to show you! And they are both pinky shades :D I don't know if you know, but I'm a pink kinda girl. It's the shade I have the most of and what I tend to reach for the most. Don't get me wrong, I fall hard for greens, grays, and blues, oh my! But pink is still my number one girl. And even though coral is considered by some to be more orange, I still count it as pink usually haha.
Essie Brides No Grooms came out in the Bridal collection this year, a set they release around Spring. I passed on all the others, but this one kept calling to me. I found it in my local Marshalls for a bargain. I swear everyone except me has had a good experience with this polish, they said it practically painted itself on. I must've gotten a bad bottle because I found the formula gummy and hard to even out. This is two coats, but it was a pain. Also, I had some staining on my nail beds and cuticles after I took it off, ugh. Still pretty though, so if I wear it again I'll double up on my base coat.
I feel a little bad showing this one to you because you can't buy it anymore. It's Glam Batch #5 from Glam Polish. The "Glam Batch" polishes are basically prototypes; they are one-off shades made in limited quantities, about 35-45 bottles, and they are numbered rather than named. These are a new type of thing they're doing over at Glam, kinda neat and exciting to see what they'll have. They are limited edition obvs, so this one is sold out, but I think there will be more Glam Batches soon, so keep your eyes on their facebook page for announcements. This one I feel was basically made for me, so I had to grab it. It's a salmony coral holographic crelly with gold and holographic microglitter. It's epic and amazing. Two easy coats with a thick top coat.
You can buy Essie from stores like CVS and Ulta for around $8.50 per bottle. Glam Polish is sold on their website for around $11 per bottle. So what have you been wearing on your nails most recently?

Nail Polish I Wore In Real Life Vol. 4
It's Saturday and I'm feeling great! How are you doing my friends? I've got another few polishes to show you today that I wore as a full manicure in real life! Oooh, aaahh! Imagine that, a nail polish blogger actually wearing nail polish ;)
KBShimmer Make My Gray is from their Spring 2014 collection. It is a pale grey crelly with a mix of glitters in turquoise, coral pink, and gunmetal. I don't know why I always expect these glitter-crelly polishes to be difficult to apply, they almost never are. Maybe because they look so complex I unconsciously imagine that getting this look should take more effort. Anyway, this was easy to apply and opaque in two coats. Tons of glitter. I purchased this from their website for $8.75.
I can't believe I didn't own China Glaze Sun Of A Peach until now. It's from their Summer 2013 collection Sunsational that I almost completely skipped. It's super popular and is included in China Glaze's core line now. The formula is pretty much awful, it's streaky, patchy and generally a pain in the butt to apply. BUT LOOK! So neon it's impossible to photograph accurately, and just crazy beautiful. This is three difficult coats, but I love it. It also dries matte like a true neon so top coat that shiz! I purchased this from Sally Beauty Supply for around $6.50.
And last is Essie Chillato, from this summer's Peach Side Babe collection . I posted a review on my picks from that collection a while ago and it didn't include this one, but this color just kept calling to me! I needed it. I bought it. I regret nothing! It's a unique green tinged pastel yellow. Essie calls it "pistachio green" but I think it's more of a lemon lime shade. Another difficult formula, very streaky, a little bubbly, and it took three coats to even out. But I adore it and I don't care. I bought this from my local CVS for $8.50.
So what do you think of these picks for my recent manicures? If you're interested in this series, you can see my other posts here. Thanks for visiting me today and we'll see you again soon!

My Picks from the Essie Summer 2015 Peach Side Babe Collection Swatches & Review
What's up yo? Today I have my two polish picks from the Essie Peach Side Babe collection for Summer 2015. There were six polishes available: a peach I didn't get because I have a zillion similar shades, a shimmery white I didn't care for swatches I'd seen of, a red that I didn't need, a pale greenish yellow which I've heard has formula issues (but I think I'm gonna go back and get), and two blues. I bought the blues because I had heard the formulas on them were on point, and believe me, they are!
This is Pret-a-surfer, which means "ready to surf" in French. Oh. My. Wow. I love blues and this is such a creamy, dreamy kind of different shade of deep periwinkle than I already have in my collection that I had to have it. It's slightly dusty and just a hair purple tinted, it's definitely a French blue. This is close to Suite Retreat from the Spring collection, which I didn't get because it wasn't quite exactly the shade of blue I wanted it to be, and this totally is! It's a one coat wonder, excellent, perfect, amazing formula. You need it!
And this is Salt Water Happy, which is the cutest name. It's a pale beachy blue crème. I was also blown away by the formula on this guy, two easy dreamy coats. Pastels are usually always three coaters for me so I was really really pleased with the opacity and self-leveling abilities of this. I was so excited by this when I swatched it that I ran around shoving my fingers in my family's faces saying "Look how good this is!! It's amazing!", but of course no one understood. But you do, right?
This collection should be out now in stores. I usually pick up Essie's at my local CVS, which is where I got these. What do you think of these two blue babes? The other one from this collection I'm probably going to pick up is Chillato. I can deal with the formula issues because it's one of those colors I keep thinking about and regretting not buying haha. You'll probably see it on my blog soon ;)
Thanks for coming by today and don't forget to enter my giveaway, it ends on the 14th!

Nail Polish I Wore In Real Life Vol. 1
Sometimes I forget to wear polish. It sounds ludicrous but it's true. When there is good weather I spend the majority of my weekend days swatching polishes I have gotten for review, sometimes upwards of 40 polishes go on and off my nails in the course of a few hours. It gets tiresome to be honest and sometimes I don't have the energy to put on a full manicure at the end of the day. Then during the week, I blog and edit photos most evenings so that leaves manicures to the last priority. As a result, I have naked nails more often than I care to admit.
I've decided that this is not cool and pretty ridiculous considering the obscene amount of nail polish that I have. I am really trying to be better at actually wearing my nail polish instead of just "trying it on" for swatching. These "in real life" posts are to show off the polishes I've actually worn recently, photographed for evidence or it didn't count haha. So the polishes will be random choices and maybe even ones I've shown before, hope you don't mind.
First is FingerPaints One In A Melon from their spring collection from this year called Picnic In the Park. I picked this up in a Sally Beauty store, where they are exclusively sold, when I was out of town a while back. I am so sad I don't have one near me, it's really tragic. This is a fabulous watermelon pinky red jelly crème. It's got a great opaque formula, this is two shiny coats.
This is Essie Stones N Roses, one of the four shades in this year's Resort collection. It's a peachy muted pink crème. I have a lot of pinks, it's probably the shade I have the most of, but this one just kept kung fu'ing into my mind and I had to have it. I'm so glad I bought it because it's really great. I put a pic of it on my instagram and it's gotten the most likes of any photo I've ever posted haha. This was a tad streaky so I needed three coats to even it out.
And last for this post is OPI Lucky Lucky Lavender from the Hong Kong collection that came out in 2010. I didn't pick this up until very recently though, I saw my friend Zenorah talk about it in one of her YouTube videos the other day and I decided to go put it on, but I realized I didn't have it! Blasphemy! I bought it on Amazon and put it on as soon as I got it in the mail. I like that this lavender is slightly pink toned, it makes it more unique in my collection. Two easy, thin but opaque coats and I'm in love!
Thanks for joining me today! Let me know what you think about these three pretties :)

Essie Bump Up the Pumps Swatch & Review
Happy 2015! How did you spend your New Years? I kept it low key and stayed in with a little netflix, not much different than most nights haha ;) For my first post of the year I thought I'd start with a coral pink, my favorite type of color!
This is Essie Bump Up the Pumps from their Winter 2014 collection, Jiggle Hi, Jiggle Low (don't get me started on that name, I kinda hate it blech). This is the only color from the collection that I decided I really had to have. The others were reds, a pale pink and white and a metallic silver/gold. Kinda interesting choices for a winter/holiday collection if you ask me. They all were pretty, I just didn't think they were exciting enough for me to get right now.
This is a fabulous pink leaning coral crème. It practically paints itself on it's so buttery and fantastic, and it's opaque in one coat. I did two here because I prefer to do so, but you could totally get away with one. This color isn't terribly unique either, but I adore this shade of polish and I just can't keep myself from getting them!
I purchased this polish at NailsAve.com for $5.50. You should be able to find them in stores like Ulta, CVS, etc., even though they came out a month or two ago they should still be around. What do you think of this pretty crème? Did you pick up any shades from the Jiggle Hi, Jiggle Low collection?
We'll see ya soon!

Essie Fall 2014 Dress to Kilt Collection Swatches & Review
I'm so excited you guys. SO excited. I have fallen head over heels in love with this collection. I haven't bought a lot of Essie polish in the last year or so. We haven't been getting along because their formulas just haven't been up to snuff for me. Beautiful colors, but I don't want to have to struggle to get a crème to look decent. There's just no reason for it. So when I saw pictures for their Fall collection, I was like, oh pretty but they'll probably have not-so-great formulas again *le sigh*. Until I started seeing blog posts and YouTube videos about it, and color me surprised, they were being reviewed as having awesome formulas! I must've watched Total Polish Junkie's live swatch video on them at least three or four times, I was just hypnotized! I had to buy them immediately, and I was not disappointed. :D
First in the collection is Take It Outside, a taupey grey neutral crème. This is a perfect Fall neutral, very work appropriate and chic. I adore this color. The formula on all of these is a little thicker than we're used to with Essie, but it really works for me. Thick but not goopy. Very shiny. Two coats here.
Next is The Perfect Cover Up, a deep slightly dusty teal green crème. I love colors like this, it's very cozy and so pretty. It is another perfect for Fall color too! This is ONE coat! Amazing!
Here is Dress to Kilt, a yummy ripe red crème. Not super unique but how unique can a red really be these days. I love this on me, despite me not being the biggest lover of reds. Two coats. Also, a little side note, am I the only one who keeps saying this name as "Dress-ed to Kilt"? Idk but I seriously thought that's what the name of this collection was for a long time, it just sounds better to me.
This is Partner In Crime, a deep rich dark chocolate brown crème. A lot of brands are coming out with dark browns for this season, it must be quite fashionable. It is clearly a pronounced brown and doesn't look black on the nail, which I appreciate. Two coats.
Fall in Line is a dusty camo-like cool toned green crème. Freaking fabulous! I'm a fan of these types of dusty shades so of course I love it. Two coats.
And last is Style Cartel, described as an inky cobalt blue, this shade just screams my name! It's a bit sheerer than the others but I was still able to use only two coats. It does stain the nails/cuticles however, which is just a damn shame. I got a tip during the last #NailGlossip chat on Twitter to try and use a nude creme or an opaque ridge filler underneath it to prevent staining, which I will next time!
Karen from Beauty Geeks sums up the formula on these pretty well, they have a plasticized shiny finish that I guess requires a thicker consistency; it worked out just so perfectly for me. It reminds me of some of the jelly crème hybrids from KBShimmer but a tad thicker. If you like one coat capable polishes that don't streak and are super shiny, you will love these. I was a little worried about bubbling because of the thicker consistency but I didn't have a problem with that at all.
I purchased these online, but they should be in stores like Ulta and CVS for around $8.50 per bottle now, if not soon. What do you think of these staple Fall shades? Are you in love with them as much as I am?? Trust, they may seem like basic colors, but their formulas just made me flip. Let me know what you think and we'll see ya soon!

Colors by Llarowe - Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star
Today I will be reviewing a nail polish from polish e-tailer turned polish maker Llarowe. Her brand is called Colors by Llarowe and this polish is called Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star. I remember when she first posted about it on her facebook page, saying she was mixing colors and one of them was remarkably similar to Essie's infamous Starry, Starry Night polish, a very hard to find, and expensive when you do, vintage polish. As soon as it was available for sale I snapped it right up because I've been lemming SSN practically since I started blogging!
Twinkle is a dark navy blue jelly packed with tiny square silver glitter pieces, like a stunning night sky. The formula was a bit on the thick side, I found it worked best when I applied it slowly. This is two coats and a top coat, although it is nicely shiny on it's own. I have seen comparisons between this and SSN and it's a touch deeper in color but is otherwise almost indiscernible.
You can pick this up on Llarowe's website for $12 for a 12 mL bottle. What do you think of this polish? Do you own the Essie polish it's modeled after? If so, how do you think they compare? I still want the original haha, I'm a sucker for the "unicorn" polishes that are hard to find.

Guest Post by Peachy Polish: DIY Nail Polish Decals
Hi folks! I hate being away from you all so long! But this will probably be the last guest post I have and should have some new posts up for you soon! This post comes to you from my girl Valesha over at PeachyPolish.com :) She is super sweet and a truly amazing blogger. If you haven't checked out her blog yet, you need to right away! She is also a very active Instagrammer. Thanks Valesha for this awesome tutorial!
Hi there! My name is Valesha and my blog is PeachyPolish.com! I was so thrilled that Kellie asked me to do a guest post for her blog. I've loved Kellie's blog for as long as I've been obsessed with nail polish. :)
Today I bring to you a little tutorial about how to create decals made from nail polish! I don't know about you but it's not always easy for me to free-hand designs and get them perfectly even, so nail polish decals are a wonderful, cheap, fun and fool-proof way to get perfect designs on your nails.
To creat the decals, you will need:
Step 1: Lay out your Ziploc bag and paint your polish(es) on the bag. It's best to use polishes that have a good opacity. I used China Glaze "Love's A Beach" and Essie "Licorice."
Step 2: Once the polish is painted on the bag you will need to let it dry for a good amount of time. I let mine dry overnight.
Step 3: When they are all dry, it's time to peel them off! Take your tweezers and gently peel the polish from the bag. Take you time doing this so that it comes off in a full sheet.
Step 4: Next, place the first square of polish on a piece of paper. I've found that reinforcing it with paper makes for a cleaner punch.
Step 5: Take your craft punch and punch out your shapes.
Step 6: Separate your punched shapes from the paper and place to the side.
Step 7: Basecoat!
Step 8: Paint your nails with the base color you want to use (I used Essie "Blanc") and do an accent nail if you'd like. I did a fun Chevron print for my accent nail using a thin nail art brush!
Step 9: While your base color is still slightly tacky, take your decals and place them where you want them on your nails using tweezers (sorry, I couldn't get a photo of me doing this, for obvious reasons. :P ) Be careful to NOT press down. It may smudge your base polish. Place it gently, it should stick just fine without pressure. If you find that the decal is not sticking to your nail, use a bit of topcoat under the decal to secure it.
Step 10: If there are any excess bits of the decals hanging off the edge of your nail, use nippers to get a nice clean edge.
Step 11: Wait for your nails to dry a little bit more and then lightly brush on topcoat for a smooth finish! (And don't forget to cleanup the edges of your nail with a nail art brush! I will have a post on how I do my cuticle care and cleanup on my blog very soon, so keep your eyes peeled for that!)
And here is the final product! I loved how it turned out!
I hope you guys enjoyed this tutorial! This is a really great way to get some fabulous nail art if you don't have the steadiest hand for details, like me! :)
Thank you Kellie for inviting me to do a guest post for you. I wish you well in your recovery and we'll all be ready and waiting for your return!

To creat the decals, you will need:
- 2 or more nail polishes of your choosing
- a Ziploc bag
- a craft punch (I used a star-shaped craft punch)
