Fair Maiden Polish Winter 2016 Merry Grinchmas Collection Swatches & Review

Happy almost Thanksgiving haha! It may be my second favorite holiday after Halloween, truth be told. But today let's talk about Christmas, ahem, I mean GRINCH-mas! The lovely minds over at indie brand Fair Maiden Polish have put together a six piece collection inspired by the animated film How the Grinch Stole Christmas, named Merry Grinchmas!

Merry Grinchmas is a deep forest green holographic with soft glowy effect. Perfect color to represent ol' Grinchy McGrinch! Great formula, two coats here.
Fair Maiden Polish Merry Grinchmas

Cindy Lou Who is a bright pink linear holographic with a slight metallic sheen. This was a tad runny, be sure not to overload your brush. Two coats for full coverage.
Fair Maiden Polish Cindy Lou Who

Welcome Christmas is a color shifting, slightly metallic, mint green linear holographic that shifts in between a pinky-violet, teal-aqua, and a light sage. This was thin but applied easily. I used three coats here, but it's pretty sheer so you may want another coat depending on your preference.
Fair Maiden Polish Welcome Christmas

All The Whos In Whoville is a light rosy pink linear holographic with yellow to pink shifting shimmer, loaded with multi-colored microflakes. Nice and complex for a sparkly pink! This formula is lovely, full coverage in two coats.
Fair Maiden Polish All The Whos In Whoville

Who-Pudding is a dusky plum toned deep purple linear holographic with violet shimmers. Same type of formula as Welcome Christmas, but more opaque. I used two coats for this one.
Fair Maiden Polish Who-Pudding

❤ x 3 is a pigmented cherry red jelly linear holographic packed with scattered holo microglitter. I swear there are also some black specks of microglitter in this as well. In the bottle I was pleased with it, but when I applied it my heart exploded! It's SOOO beautiful! Great formula, two coats. May need a thick topcoat for a smooth finish.

Fair Maiden Polish Fall Into Delirium Collection Swatches & Review

Hi everyone! This week has been super crazy at work, like major busy, so I am decidedly exhausted. Hopefully it will ease up a little soon haha. I have some beautiful new polishes from Fair Maiden Polish though to lift my spirit! It comes in two parts, a fall collection called Fall Into Delirium. I have parts 1 & 2 for you today, 10 polishes in total

Part 1 is the "warm" half of the collection. It begins with Acorns & Ashes, a thermal change polish that is soft nude in warm temperatures and transitions to taupe in cooler temperatures, then goes to ashy charcoal when in its coldest state. Filled with golden green shimmer which shows more golden tones when nude, and greener tones when in the darker, cold state. A bit sheer at first, but nice formula, very manageable. This is three coats in it's warm state.
Fair Maiden Polish Acorns & Ashes

This is a cold sensitive thermal, different than most thermals which are heat sensitive. Best results are seen at 18 degrees C/64 degrees F. I am a naturally warm-bodied person and I live in the high desert in Nevada, which is still experiencing nice temperatures in the 80 degree range during the day. I could only partially achieve color transition for this photo by putting my fingertips in a bowl of ice water, and even then they seemed to revert back to gold a few seconds after I took them out! If you are a "cooler" person than I, you'll probably have no trouble though haha.
Fair Maiden Polish Acorns & Ashes

Shadow of Your Heart is a dark, vampy blood red holographic. This is super pigmented, maybe even a one coater if you're generous with your layers. I used two here. Makes me think of a glistening garnet.
Fair Maiden Polish Shadow of Your Heart

Roaming Fire is a fiery reddish orange holographic with a golden flame. This applied effortlessly in two coats. This seriously glows!
Fair Maiden Polish Roaming Fire

The Road Less Traveled is an earthy, dark mossy brownish grey-green holographic with color shifting violet shimmer. This is a soft roar, a sleeper hit. I wasn't expecting to be as knocked out by this as I am, it's so gorgeous! Great formula, two coats.
Fair Maiden Polish The Road Less Traveled

Wanderlusting is a golden bronze metallic flakie polish, loaded with 5 different holographic pigments, glass flecks, and a subtle golden green shift. The flakes lay flatter than glitter so there's minimal texture. Super easy to apply, easy to spread over the nail. This is two coats, awesome coverage on this one!
Fair Maiden Polish Wanderlusting

And here is part 2, the "cool" shades. Autumn’s Reign is a rich, slightly metallic purple that shifts slightly to reddish gold, with a violet-green shimmer and color shifting chroma flakes that flash red-orange-gold. Slightly thick, opaque in two coats.
Fair Maiden Polish Autumn's Reign

Cosmic Muse is a rich teal with an intense glow of pink-gold shimmer and color shifting chroma flakes that shift in purple-red-gold. This is a bit sheer at first, but builds up in three coats to the color you see here. Slight brushstrokes, but the intense shimmer is so flashy you almost don't see them in real life.
Fair Maiden Polish Cosmic Muse

Walking in Silence is a bright periwinkle blue holographic with a subtle red flash and color shifting shimmer. This was a little thick and didn't flow on my nails as easily as the other holos, but not bad. Two coats here, but you may need a third if you do thin layers.
Fair Maiden Polish Walking in Silence

Bright Eyed Mourning is a dark, moody midnight blue holographic with a tealy green glow. This by comparison with the previous polish, was decidedly thinner, maybe a teeny bit runny. This is two coats though, it has good pigmentation.
Fair Maiden Polish Bright Eyed Mourning

Time Stands Still is a sparkly cement grey holographic with a violet flash and shimmer flakes that shift blue-violet-red. This applies nicely, but is a little sheer. I used three coats but it was super close to being opaque in two. I really liked how this looked in person, my photo doesn't do the shifty-sparkle quality justice.
Fair Maiden Polish Time Stands Still

The pre-order for these polishes starts 9/17 at 11am CST on the Fair Maiden Polish website. The pre-order period will last one week, with the polishes shipping out 2-3 weeks after that. They will be available for regular purchase later on on the website too. Individually all the polishes are $10, except for Ashes & Acorns which is $9. Each half of five is priced at $45 as a group. Purchase all 10 for $85. Minis will be sold in both sets of 5 for $25 per set, but minis will not be sold individually. What do you think of these fall beauties? I'm obsessed with Wanderlusting and The Road Less Traveled!

Fair Maiden Polish Color4Nails Exclusive Duo Swatches & Review

Hello my fine friends! I have two new shades from Fair Maiden Polish that were made as exclusives for online nail polish shop Color4Nails to show you today!

Antique Charm is a light steely sage green with a holographic effect, a slight blue-gold flash, and gold holo microglitters. I didn't realize this was a holo until I put it on and then it became really fiery out in the sun, it seems more like a shimmer in the bottle so that was a cool surprise. It seemed sheer on the first coat, but built up on itself to opacity in three. This is really beautiful.
Fair Maiden Polish Antique Charm

Vintage Romance is a rusty medium pink holographic with a hint of peach. It also has a subtle shifting sparkle throughout, making it softer than a straight holo. This applied really well and was opaque in two coats.
Fair Maiden Polish Vintage Romance

This duo will go on sale on the Color4Nails website on Sunday, June 12th for $12 each. There are a lot of codes floating around that'll give you 10% off so you just need to do a quick search to find one if you want to save a little moola. Let me know what you think of these pretties! Both of the soft classical shades reminds me of romantic renaissance paintings and fabrics, tres elegant.

The Holo Hookup March 2016 Indie Collaboration Box Swatches & Review

It's Holo Hookup preview time again! This is a pre-order monthly collaboration box between indie brands Glisten & Glow, Different Dimension, and Cupcake Polish with a special guest brand. The theme for March's box is The Candy Shop so all the polishes are inspired by delicious sugary candy! I was immediately intrigued when I heard this. The guest brand this month is Fair Maiden Polish, a brand I've come to know and love recently! Let's take a look at the colors!
candy inspiration

Glisten & Glow Pink Rock Candy is a bright pink linear holographic with cherry and silver holo microglitters and added pink shimmers. This polish had an amazing smooth formula, really awesome to paint with. This is two coats.
Glisten & Glow Pink Rock Candy

Cupcake Polish Lemonheads is a bright yellow gold linear holographic with heavy gold and pink shimmers. Another awesome formula, although seemed a bit sheer on the first coat. I only needed one more to cover my nails entirely though.
Cupcake Polish Lemonheads

Different Dimension Blue Raspberry Airheads is a sky blue linear holographic with a zillion similarly colored holo microglitters that lean a touch more teal, and heavy shimmers. This has an amazing effect, like little holo pebbles in a glistening river! Great application and opaque in just two coats. Dries surprisingly smooth!
Different Dimension Blue Raspberry Airheads

Fair Maiden Polish Now & Later is a grape purple linear holographic with subtle pink-to-gold flakes. This had a thin formula but it was easy to use and I only needed two coats for full opacity. I noticed slight brushstrokes with this one, but they're not super noticeable.
Fair Maiden Polish Now & Later

This box will be up for pre-sale on The Holo Hookup website starting on Sunday, February 21st at 9pm EST through Sunday, February 28th at 9pm EST. The box is $40 plus shipping. Fair Maiden Polish Valentine's Trio The Goddesses Swatches & Review

Hi there and hello! Today I'm bringing you another upcoming Valentine's collection, this time from indie brand Fair Maiden Polish! This trio of holiday appropo shades are named after Greek Goddesses so naturally it's called The Goddesses. I've loved learning about Greek mythology since I was very young so the stories behind the names really make me happy. Let's take a look!

Aphrodite is "the Goddess of love, desire and beauty! Valentine’s just wouldn’t be complete without her!"  A red jelly holographic that leans a little bit orange, with fuchsia and copper flakies. This applied effortlessly and was opaque in two coats. I love how blingy this is!
Fair Maiden Polish Aphrodite

Athena "as a Goddess, she is fierce and brave - the goddess of wisdom, courage, inspiration & strength."  This one is a blush/rose pink in a linear holographic finish with micro flakes that shift from orangey gold to green. Very delicate, leans really pink on me but I can see how it would be more of a nude on a different skin tone. This is two coats, but depending on your application you may need one more. Athena is one of my favorite goddesses so I adore this!
Fair Maiden Polish Athena

Persephone (pronounced per-SEF-uh-nee) is "the Goddess of flowers, she was also brought down to the underworld by Hades." Her polish is a rich purple plum jelly shimmer with gold and color shifting flakes that flip orange to pink. This was a little on the thin side, it took three coats to build up for me. Very sparkly!
Fair Maiden Polish Persephone

The collection will be available tomorrow, January 31st at 8pm CST on the Fair Maiden Polish website. The full size trio will be $28.50, the mini trio (with 7.5 mL bottles) will be $18. Both Aphrodite and Athena will be $10 individually and Persephone will be $9. They usually sell the mini bottles individually too but I don't know a price on those yet. Tell me what you think of these! Have you tried Fair Maiden yet?

Fair Maiden Polish Cheers To A New Year! Trio Swatches & Review

IT'S 2016!!! Holy cow does time fly or what?? To kick off the new year right, I've got a stunning trio for you from indie brand Fair Maiden Polish called Cheers To A New Year! I figured it would fit well. ;)

The Final Countdown is an intense silver linear holographic with added silver micro flakes. I love the addition of the flakes, it makes this seem so multi-dimensional in real life. Great formula, very easy to apply! Opaque in just two coats.
Fair Maiden Polish The Final Countdown

Life Of The Party is a sweet berry pink linear holographic with added pink sparkle bits. Holos are usually always great, but the latest trend of adding something extra to them makes me so happy! The shimmer in this makes it unique to my collection and extra sassy. This one was a little on the thin side, but not difficult to use. Two coats for opacity.
Fair Maiden Polish Life Of The Party

In With The New is a dark blue jelly polish with color shifting shimmer bits that go from blue to green to red, fuchsia microglitter, navy holo glitter, and rose gold flakes! Wowza talk about a complex baby! This was a bit thick, probably due to the amount of glitz in the jelly base, but again not difficult to put on. I used three coats here but you could probably get away with two depending on your application style.
Fair Maiden Polish In With The New

These are available now for pre-order on the Fair Maiden Polish website. The full size trio retails for $29, the mini trio for $18, and they are $10 individually. I really love this trio, they all compliment each other nicely and are perfect for the winter. Tell me what you think of these pretties! And happy new year!!

Fair Maiden Polish Winter 2015 Winter At Dusk Collection Swatches & Review

Hi there and happy Thanksgiving week! It's gonna be a short work week for me, which undoubtedly makes me a little giddy so I'm in good spirits. That in part also comes from this collection, my first from indie brand Fair Maiden Polish. The Winter At Dusk collection has six soft shades inspired by the tranquility of a winter sunset. Let's take a look!

Fire Frost is a pale champagne nude with a scattered holographic shimmer, red-orange color shifting micro flakes, and a subtle orange to violet flash. This had an nice, easy formula and was opaque in two coats.
Fair Maiden Polish Fire Frost

Snow Jewel is a metallic purple with a red-violet shimmer and pale gold micro flakes. This one took a little more care to apply, it can kind of bunch up on itself like some metallics tend to do, so give yourself extra dry time between layers. Opaque in two coats. This reminds me of Rescue Beauty Lounge Lucciole from the Fan 2.0 collection, but this is a warmer purple compared to that one.
Fair Maiden Polish Snow Jewel

Ice Petals is a light blush pink with green sparkle, iridescent micro flakes that shift from blue to violet to red, and metallic silver flakes. I found this a bit on the thicker side, but not terribly so. Two coats.
Fair Maiden Polish Ice Petals

Winter Moon is a medium blue grey crelly with a blue flash, super itty bitty holo twinkles, and blue-green sparkles. This was more sheer than the other shades, it took three coats for full opacity.
Fair Maiden Polish Winter Moon

Afterglow is a light lavender holographic shade with pink shifting micro flakes. This had a great formula, maybe the best in the collection. Very easy to apply, two coats for total coverage.
Fair Maiden Polish Afterglow

Starry Night is a midnight navy blue holographic with golden metallic flakes. This one was also great to apply, no trouble and opaque in two coats. This might be one of my favorite polish shades I've ever tried, no joke! The metallic flakes really pop in lower lighting. You have to see it in person!
Fair Maiden Polish Starry Night

I recommend a glossy top coat with all of these shades. They don't dry dull necessarily, but they aren't super shiny. This collection will be available on Thursday, Nov. 26 at 9pm CST on the Fair Maiden website. The collection will be sold for $10 each for full size bottles, $6.50 each in mini bottles. They are having a few holiday promotions as well starting that day, including 25% off all purchases and a free Limited Edition Holiday 2015 lacquer with the purchase of the full Winter at Dusk collection. Those promos go through Monday, Nov. 30th, no code necessary.

Tell me what you think about these soft winter shades! Which is your favorite? I think I would be lost without Starry Night now that I have seen its wonder!
