The All Holo's Eve 2015 Collaboration Trio - Cirque Colors, Lacquer Lust and Serum No. 5

Greetings dear friends! I know it's Monday again, but I have a feeling your week is going to be awesome! ;) I wanted to start off this week with a bang, showing you the new collaboration trio from indie brands Cirque Colors, Lacquer Lust and Serum No. 5 called All Holo's Eve! This limited edition gift set has three Halloween themed lacquers all with a sparkling holographic element.

Cirque Colors Coven is an indigo blurple jelly polish with an orange to green shimmer effect. This reminds me of their Kontiki collection, so if you missed out on those this one might quench your thirst for that finish. It's sheer on the 1st coat but builds up nicely. It's almost opaque on two coats but I used three for maximum coverage. Dries very shiny!

Lacquer Lust Candy Corn and Unicorns is a silver holographic microglitter with metallic glitters in orange, yellow, white and black. This is quite the Halloween polish, it has traditional aspects but gives them a twist! It has a thicker consistency due to the dense glitter, but wasn't difficult to apply. I used two coats plus a shiny top coat.

Serum No. 5 You're Boo-tiful is a mix of pink, purple, orange, and silver metallic glitters in varying sizes in a black jelly base. This glows in the dark, but I failed to get a good glow picture. It makes me sad, because this glows like whoa! A little thick, but pretty easy to manage. I applied three coats for full opacity. Dries matte and slightly textured due to the glow pigment so use a top coat for smoothness and shine.
Serum No. 5 You're Boo-tiful

This trio is launching on October 4th at all three brand's websites for $32. CirqueColors.com will launch at 12pm EST while SerumNo5.com and Lacquer-Lust.com will be launching at 12pm PST. What do you think? I think this is a fun and funky set that is perfect for the best season ever, Halloween!

KBShimmer Fall 2015 Collection Swatches & Review

Hi cookies! Today is very exciting! I have been waiting for one special Fall collection to come out and this is the day to unveil it! I'm talking about indie darling KBShimmer of course, and I have her much anticipated Fall collection to show you! There are twelve colors all together, which include 4 crèmes, 6 glitter crelly/jelly mixes, 1 ultra holo, and 1 microglitter. And one of the glitters is a glow-in-the-dark polish! Yay and hooray!

Be Scareful is a white crelly with matte orange and black dots, shreds, stars, triangles and hex glitters. This had really good opacity, it only needed two coats. It is a little thicker than most of their crelly mixes because this is a glow-in-the-dark polish, which have a heftier consistency. Dries semi-satiny so use a top coat for full gloss. I failed at getting a good glow-in-the-dark photo of this guy, but I'm sure some of the other reviewers will deliver.
KBShimmer Be Scareful

Breaking Blues is a medium periwinkle crème. This is such a beautiful color, I absolutely love it. It has a really great formula, almost opaque in one coat but I used two for total coverage. Even if you have similar periwinkle shades in your collection, let me tell you, you need this! Also, it might appear at first glance to be similar to the original Sally Hansen Pacific Blue, but it's a lot more purple toned.
KBShimmer Breaking Blues

Carpe Denim is a dark navy jelly filled with small holographic silver glitters. This had quite a good level of opacity for a jelly. It went on really smooth and there was a good distribution of glitter without having to manipulate it at all. It dried nice and shiny as well. This is two coats.
KBShimmer Carpe Denim

Dark & Twisty is a black jelly with metallic glitters in rainbow colors. I was surprised at the coverage on this one too, it was almost a one coater! I used two for a deeper look. This shade is perfect for the Halloween season! It reminds me of a freak show or haunted carnival or something.
KBShimmer Dark & Twisty

Fig-Get About It is a linear holographic lacquer in a purpley-burgundy shade. It was a little sheer at first and took three coats for full opacity. The holo is intense on this, it's super rainbow-y in the sunlight!

I Feel Gourd-geous is a coppery champagne holographic microglitter. It has pretty good coverage, but I needed three coats to cover the nail fully. It's not overly chunky, but it does dry satiny matte so I recommend a layer or two of top coat to completely smooth it and make it really shine.
KBShimmer I Feel Gourd-geous

I've Seen Sweater Days is a muted turquoisey teal crelly with blue, aqua, green and silver metallic glitters. This had the same great crelly glitter formula that I've come to know KBShimmer for, really easy to apply with great glitter payoff. Two coats.
KBShimmer I've Seen Sweater Days

Open Toad Shoes is a soft olive green crelly with glitters in metallic burgundy, blue, and greeny gold with some holographic sparkle. Another stellar formula, no muss, no fuss. Two coats here as well. This might be my favorite, it's so unique! And that name, mama, it's giving me life!
KBShimmer Open Toad Shoes

Soul Deep is a blackened blue crème with purple undertones. Sleek and oh so rich with an amazing formula. Almost opaque in one coat, but I used two for full opacity.
KBShimmer Soul Deep

Such A Vlad-Ass is another crème, this time in a bright but deep fresh blood red. Oh, so you say a red is a red is a red? Well not this time buster! I've fallen head over heels with this indie brand's crèmes and this red is a knockout! You need it. Two coats. *Edit: this color is deeper and slightly blue toned in darker/dimmer lights.*
KBShimmer Such A Vlad-Ass

Talk Qwerty To Me is a shimmery teal with micro flake shimmer in blue and gold. I had a little trouble with this one, it can get a little thick on the nail if your coats are too heavy. I recommend using thin coats and letting each dry completely, or you risk pulling off the polish you already put down. I used three coats here. This could also look nice layered, maybe over Soul Deep or a black crème.
KBShimmer Talk Qwerty To Me

Teal It To My Heart is the last in the collection and another fabulous crème. Like the name suggests, it's a beautiful teal color. This was completely opaque in one coat; I used two like I always do, but you can totally use one with no issue.
KBShimmer Teal It To My Heart

This collection will be available September 15, 2015 on KBShimmer.com, Amazon.com and at select salons & retailers. For sales outside the U.S., visit www.harlowandco.org. Tell me what you think of this collection! Are you dying for those crèmes? Or are you more into the glitters? My top picks are Open Toad Shoes for its uniqueness, Breaking Blues for the color, and Carpe Denim for the hawtness! Talk to you soon!

Summer Fest 2015 Collaboration Trio - Cirque Colors, Serum No. 5 and Lacquer Lust

There is a really cool collaboration box being released today with polishes from Serum No. 5, Cirque Colors and Lacquer Lust for summer inspired by lights, dancing and rave culture. This is a limited edition gift box set and it's perfect for summer. My birthday is today and it feels like a sweet little present to share with you all!
First is Kandi Flip from Cirque Colors, a neon pink coral flamingo holographic. I love this brand as you know, and I am stoked to have this color. I am a pink coral kinda girl and this just rocks! It's so bright and warm and perfect for summer. This is two easy coats.
Cirque Colors Kandi Flip

Next is Untz Untz Untzing Unicorn from Lacquer Lust. This is my first Lacquer Lust polish so I was excited to try it. It's a sparkling silver holographic micro-glitter with neon matte hex glitters in pink, yellow, and orange. I used one coat over Kandi Flip. I love this combination, but I have seen a few other gals use by itself and it can be built up to be opaque in three coats.
Lacquer Lust Untz Untz Untzing Unicorn

The last polish in the trio is PLUR from Serum No. 5, another new brand to me! I have heard great things about them from my blogging friends so I knew this would be good. It's a glow in the dark base with a slight beige color with multicolored matte glitters and flecks. This is described as a topper, but I used it by itself because I guess I can't read, but it worked out ok. This is two coats. I would recommend wearing it over a white though.
Serum No. 5 PLUR

I haven't mastered glow in the dark photos yet, but here's the best I could do. I think it looks pretty dope!
Serum No. 5 PLUR

This set will be available on June 20, 2015 at SerumNo5.com, CirqueColors.com and Lacquer-Lust.com for $32. What do you think of this trio? I really enjoyed them, especially the fun holo! P.S. the box comes packaged with some yummy candy, I opened it before thinking to take a picture, but my friends Emily & Deborah have pics of it on their reviews :)

Cheers to my 29th year on Earth!

GlitterDaze - My White Lighter + Comparison

GlitterDaze is an indie nail polish company that puts out really cool glitter polishes. They have some new duochrome polishes coming out; I actually won the whole collection on a FB giveaway so I will be showing those as soon as I get them.

This polish is called My White Lighter. It's really beautiful and it glows in the dark! I didn't realize that when I picked it out, I just thought it was pretty and I wanted to try out a new brand. Its white base is glow in the dark and the glitters are different sizes of sky blue. This photo was taken a while ago so I can't recall the number of coats I used unfortunately.

The consistency is quite thick and gooey, I'm guessing due to its glow in the dark properties. I thinned this out a lot before I was able to get it to apply well and even. I read on the website they actually recommend to layer this over white to get a stronger glow and maybe that would help with the application. I'll have to try that next time. I did get a nice glow just wearing it out in the sun for a few minutes to "charge" it, evidenced in the photo below.

After I got My White Lighter, I realized that it looked similar to another polish I had gotten recently called Expecto Patronum by Dollish Polish. I had wanted it for a long time and was finally able to snag it, it was selling out every time it went on sale. Here's a little comparison of the two for you.
As you can see the blue in Expecto Patronum is more sparse and is teal rather than light blue. The base in EP is also more of a cream and in My White Lighter it's thinner and jellyish.

You can buy GlitterDaze polishes on their website and their Etsy store for $11 for a full size and $6 for mini bottles. Dollish Polish is sold at Llarowe for $11 each, although this shade is sold out at the moment. Have you tried either of these polishes? Which would you pick? I love them both and glad I don't have to choose :)

OPI Boo-Berry

Hi friends! I wanted to show you a close to my heart polish today, OPI Boo-Berry. This is a glow in the dark polish that was released for Halloween in 2007 (I think). This is similar to last years Zom-body to Love from OPI, a kind of grainy looking sheer. The blue color is so slammin' and I've wanted this polish forever. This is three coats. I tried to get a pic showing it glow in the dark but that mission failed.

This polish has lots of my favorite characteristics, it's vintage, it's for Halloween, it has the cutest name, and it's a gift from my favorite gingey, Ang. Thanks sweetie, I love it!
