Pretty Serious Cosmetics Naileontology Collection Vol. 4 Swatches & Review

Hey folks! I have three new polishes to show you today from Australian indie brand Pretty Serious Cosmetics. These shades are part of the Museum of Naileontology collection, shades from the past they have re-imagined and made their own! Let's take a look at what they cooked up from the wild depths of the nail polish archives!

Chariots Of The Red Sea has a warm red jelly base filled with silver twinkly shimmer bits. This is actually kind of unique to my collection, which is a feat for a red! Great, easy to apply formula. This is two coats.
Pretty Serious Cosmetics Chariots Of the Red Sea

Disc Of The Heavens is a jade green with a angelic glaze of green and gold microshimmer. A stunning shade, one that captivated the nail polish world a few years ago and this is sure to satiate a few lemmings, one of mine in particular! Thin but manageable formula, I used two coats here for an opaque finish.
Pretty Serious Cosmetics Disc Of the Heavens

Mad Skull Of Cloverton is a pale lilac purple that leans iridescent with a strong green shimmer. This rides the edge of being a frost, but wasn't quite there, which is good in my opinion. A touch sheer and slightly brushstrokey, but not terribly so. This is three coats.
Pretty Serious Cosmetics Mad Skull of Cloverton

These shades are all available right now on the Pretty Serious website. They are $9.95 AUD, or about $7.27 USD. (They convert the prices to whatever currency your country uses, so simple and convenient!) Let me know what you think of these colors! I have some more goodies from PS Cosmetics to show you soon, so stay tuned!

Illyrian Polish Color4Nails Exclusive Duo Swatches & Review

Happy Tuesday cookies! How has your week been going? Mine is shaping up to be nice, I have a short trip to Las Vegas for business for the rest of week so that'll be a nice break from everyday life haha. I live at the other end of the state from LV and it's much different up here. Today I have two new exclusive polishes from the Color4Nails online store to show you! This duo comes from indie brand Illyrian Polish.

Dove Jam has a mid-tone grey holographic base with grey iridescent flakes and a flash of bronzey pink shimmer. This was easy to apply. I used thin coats and it was almost opaque in two, but I added a third for a total coverage. You would probably be fine with two with normal/thicker coats. I really love the contrasting shimmer in this.
Illyrian Polish Dove Jam

Peacock Sauce is a deep teal blue holographic with deep red flakies and a strong gold shimmer. I love the flakes and holo but I felt like the shimmer gave the polish a bit of a frosty look. Same type of formula as Dove Jam; I used three coats but you could probably get away with two.
Illyrian Polish Peacock Sauce

These are available on the Color4Nails website now for $13 each. What do you think of these two shades? I like the names so much haha! They're not really summer colors, but I know I will get some good use out of them when the colder months roll around. Have you tried Illyrian Polish yet?

Moo Moo's Signatures New Shades Swatches & Review

What's going on cookies?? I have some awesome new polishes from Moo Moo's Signatures to share with you today! This Singapore based indie brand creates super cute polishes and they're always interesting and out of the box.

Yellow Hare is a neon yellow holo with tiny silver white flakies. This looks a little bit more green in certain lighting, I would call it a chartreuse. Two coats, pretty normal formula, but if you do thinner coats you might prefer using three layers.
Moo Moo's Signatures Yellow Hare

Meet Piggie Under The Sun is a "piggie" pink holographic which has an almost metallic finish, flecked with with tiny green and pink sparkles. Opaque in one coat but I used two here. Very easy and smooth application! Dries a bit dull so you'll want a top coat.
Moo Moo's Signatures Meet Piggie Under The Sun

Moo-struck is a purple scattered holographic with black stars, red stars, black dots, green dots, magenta hexes, turquoise hexes, iridescent glitters, silver and gold flakies. Also, this polish comes with a small bag of extra black and red star shaped glitters for extra bling! They would also be perfect for nail art, though I haven't tried that yet. This one has a similar formula to Yellow Hare but with the added glitters it made it a touch thick. I had to manipulate the glitters a tiny bit but nothing too intensive haha. This is two coats. Dries down to a satin finish so you'll want a top coat.
Moo Moo's Signatures Moo-struck

Whisper A Wish has a clear base with lots of pretty color-shifting translucent glitters, tiny silver stars, silver dots, gold dots, gold squares, holo silver hexes, holo gold hexes, tiny yellow-green iridescent glitters and tiny pink flakies. I've layered one coat over a black crème here to show off the iridescence. So firey and pretty! Easy to apply, with a little bit of placement for the larger glitters. Great glitter density!

These polishes are all available on their Etsy store now for around 12 Euros for each 12ml bottle. They are 3-free and ship from Singapore. What do you think of these pretties? Be sure to see my previous posts featuring other Moo Moo's Signatures polishes, a lot of them are still available in their store!

OPI Hello Kitty Collection Swatches & Review

Hi cookies! Happy Friday! I'm excited today to show you the OPI Hello Kitty collection! I've always adored Hello Kitty and coming together with arguably my (and the world's) favorite nail polish brand was just a match made in heaven for me! There are twelve shades in this collection, inspired by Kitty's world of fun and friendship!

OPI 5 Apples Tall is a beautiful fruity red crème with a hint of coral pink. Amazing formula, and opaque in two coats. Super pretty and just different enough of a red for me to get excited for it.
OPI 5 Apples Tall

OPI Look at My Bow! is a sweet light pink crème with the slightest touch of lavender. A little streaky, but I was able to cover them in three coats. This is such a perfect, girly pink!
OPI Look at My Bow!

OPI My Twin Mimmy is a bright sunny yellow crème, named for Kitty's twin Mimmy's bow color! Yellow is a hard color to get in a good formula, but this one was not bad! Three coats for full coverage.
OPI My Twin Mimmy

OPI Starry Eyed For Dear Daniel is a fuchsia pink jelly with small silver hex glitters. I might spy some purple shimmer in there too, not sure. Daniel is Hello Kitty's boyfriend in case you didn't know, so cute. This applied really nicely and was opaque in just two coats.
OPI Starry Eyed For Dear Daniel

OPI Let's Be Friends! is a very pale cloud-like pink. So pale it's almost white, but you can tell it's not. This formula was a tad thick, and a bit streaky. I used three coats here to cover the streaks. I've heard other folks have had no trouble with this though, so it might have been me.
OPI Let's Be Friends!

OPI My Pal Joey is a super saturated primary blue crème. Amazing formula, probably the best in the bunch! Two coats here. Joey is one of Hello Kitty's friends, and he's a mouse!
OPI My Pal Joey

OPI Charmmy & Sugar has a sheer shimmery pink iridescent base with small hex glitters in soft rainbow colors. This could be used as a topper, but I build it up in three coats. I think this is the only shade in the collection I don't care for, it has too much going on for me. But I like the name, which are Hello Kitty's pet cat and hamster's names.
OPI Charmmy & Sugar

OPI Never Have Too Mani Friends is a basic black crème. I felt this was kinda out of place in the collection, but realized it's great for all that Hello Kitty nail art that you can do! It actually has a wonderful formula, dries shiny and is almost but not quite a one coater. I used two coats here. This might be the best black from a mainstream brand I've ever tried!
OPI Never Have Too Mani Friends

OPI Small + Cute = ️❤ is a baby pink crème with a touch of peach. This is quite beautiful, I really love this color on me but I found the formula to be finicky. A little thin and streaky, I needed three coats for even coverage. Another one that I've heard other people say they had no problems with though, *shrug*.
OPI Small + Cute = ️❤

OPI Spoken from the Heart is actually my favorite shade in the whole collection, a sweet juicy coral jelly crème! More jelly than crelly but still crème-like, if that makes any sense! Lovely formula, and the only reason I used three coats was to cover my nail line a little more. SWOON! This reminds me of the Texas collection sorbets, but more opaque.
OPI Spoken from the Heart

OPI Kitty White is a white shimmer. A polish that will probably never be fully opaque, but it builds up on itself pretty well. I recommend letting this dry for a little longer than normal between coats to avoid dragging. This is three coats, but you could also layer this one of any of the crèmes. This is the type of shimmer particle that gets everywhere so be careful with removal. Did you know Kitty White is Hello Kitty's full name??
OPI Kitty White

OPI Super Cute In Pink is a pink crelly with a purple tone. Applied really nice and even, but with the thinner formula you can still see nail line with two coats, so I used three. Kind of a funny name to put on this shade with so much purple in it!
 OPI Super Cute In Pink

There is also a special edition shade called Say Hello Kitty! that comes in a box with some Swarovski crystal bow charms. You can see swatches of that one and some comparisons of these colors on my friend Karen's blog BeautyGeeks. Oh I almost forgot, all of these shades have special white plastic shrink-wrapped caps with Hello Kitty on them too, which is pretty darn cute! This collection is available now wherever OPI is sold for around $9.50 per bottle. Let me know what you think of these pretty colors! Are you a Hello Kitty fan?

Baroness X Nail Lacquer Ex Libris Collection Swatches & Review

Hi everyone! I have a post today from a new-to-me indie brand, Baroness X Nail Lacquer. I have heard tales of wonder and excellence for this unique brand before but haven't tried them until now. This is a four piece collection called Ex Libris and I received the mini sized 8ml bottles for review. I like their minis because they are tall instead of the short and squat ones you usually see, so they're easier to apply. Let's take a look!

Dulcinea is a violet jelly with red to green color shifting shimmer and large iridescent flakies. This one is quite sheer, and is a little thick, so let it dry between coats to avoid the gummy-ness that some jellies can get. I built it up in three coats but you can still see the nail line pretty significantly. I know some people will like that look, but if you don't, this would look killer layered over a purple crème or a more opaque jelly. I couldn't capture the green shift, but it's definitely there.
Baroness X Dulcinea

Quixotica is a blue-toned green jelly with gold to blue shifting shimmer, silver holographic micro-shards and green & blue metallic flakies. This had the same formula as Dulcinea but was a little less thick and doesn't have that "gummy" jelly quality at all. This is also three coats, still a bit transparent, so again you can layer it over a solid shade for a more opaque look. I love to see multichrome flakes being used in different ways and they are right at home in this jelly base. Amazing shimmer in this too, so hard to do it justice in a picture!
Baroness X Quixotica

Molino is a juicy berry red jelly with gold to blue shifting shimmer and a mix of rainbow multichrome metallic flakies. I had an easy time with this guy, smooth and effortless to apply. More full coverage than the first two, this is opaque in three coats so it can stand on its own. This would be so beautiful layered over a black though!
Baroness X Molino

Alhambra is a cobalt blue jelly with red to green shifting shimmer, mixed sizes of iridescent flakies and silver holographic micro-shards. This is so stellar and very pigmented! It is also more opaque than the first two shades, but I still used three coats. I would say this is the only one I wouldn't layer over another color though, there is just so much depth that comes through when it's built up, I love it.
Baroness X Alhambra

These will be available for purchase on November 4th on the Baroness X website and their Etsy store. The full size 15ml bottles will be $12.75 each. The full size set of four will be $46 and the mini 8ml set will be priced at $28. What do you think of these shades? Have you ever tried this brand before? I will have a review of their new cuticle moisturizer up soon, it's a matte formula dubbed the "swatcher's balm", so stay tuned for that!

Rescue Beauty Lounge Fan Collection 3.0 Swatches & Review

Hi my darling friends! I'm so happy to share with you the newest Rescue Beauty Lounge collection today! This is the Fan 3.0 collection, the ideas for these seven shades were created by fans! True ReBeLs who won the chance to make their dream color with creator Ji Baek. This is the third collection of it's kind and I'm always so excited to see what the fans come up with!

GalaxSea was dreamed up to look like an amalgamation of the sea and outer space, longed for by fan Danielle. It's a darker lavender with blue glass flecks and crazy shimmer. This reminds me of the original Scrangie polish by RBL, but lighter and with shimmer "on steroids". It was on the thicker side, but went on without problems. I used two coats here.
Rescue Beauty Lounge GalaxSea

Electro Glacier is an icy pale blue with iridescent sparkles that was dreamed up by fan Ashley. It's quite a lovely color and makes me think of a unicorn! I found this to be a little thick and gritty, and I had trouble with it not really self-leveling. I used three coats here.
Rescue Beauty Lounge Electro Glacier

Sanguine started out in fan Lygie's mind as a jelly with suspended shimmer, but morphed into a smooth metallic in a robust cranberry. This had a fabulous formula, opaque in one coat but I did two to smooth it out a little more. This is a perfect shade for the coming winter!
Rescue Beauty Lounge Sanguine

Ethereal is a seashell-like shiny opalescent white with flashes of pink and gold imagined by fan Nancy. This is gorgeous and such a "me" shade, so great job Nancy haha! Pretty good formula for a metallic-y shade, but just a tad streaky although that's kind of a given with such a light shade. I used three coats for full opacity.
Rescue Beauty Lounge Ethereal

Vixen by Sassy Shelly is a shade fan Shelly felt had been missing from the RBL lineup, a rich and decadent magenta with insane shimmer and glass fleck. I am not going to say this color is necessarily unique, but this polish is really beautiful. Thin and very easy to control formula. I used two coats for her.
Rescue Beauty Lounge Vixen by Sassy Shelly

Golden Horn is fan Sara's brainchild, a similar type to RBL Naked Without Polish, but this one has an off-white base with soft shimmer and gold flakes. It was a little streaky at first, but evened itself out well on the second coat. I can't stop thinking about corn flakes in milk when I see this shade, but of course they are beautiful sparkly corn flakes! :)
Rescue Beauty Lounge Golden Horn

Many Splendors is a color envisioned by fan Angela, who wanted a volcanic lava-like shade. This is a black, gold and orange microglitter polish in a murky black/brown base with texture properties. I was thinking it was just regular microglitter until it dried, very quickly, and it turned into a craggy, sandy vision! I only needed two coats, though the second was a little more difficult to put on because it dried so quickly. This is really something.
Rescue Beauty Lounge Many Splendors

I applied top coat to see how it would look without it's natural finish. I needed two coats to cover the texture completely because it's very "thirsty". I really like it both ways!
Rescue Beauty Lounge Many Splendors

The polishes will retail for $20 each on the Rescue Beauty Lounge website; pre-order will start on October 13th and will last for 48 hours. If you haven't yet, sign up for email alerts on their website in order to get the link to the pre-order. The polishes will be available for regular purchase at a later date.

The creator Ji's blog post about the collection with all the inspiration photos is here: Rescue Beauty Blog. Be sure to check out all the RBL bloggers' swatches too:

Tell me what you think of these pretties! If I have to pick a favorite, it's definitely Ethereal :)

Glam Polish Ohana and Hibiscus Swatches & Review

Hey there, how you doing? I'm doing ok, my poor kitty Asher has been sick for a few days and he's still not feeling 100%. Any good thoughts or vibes are appreciated for the little guy. Today I wanted to show you two polishes I bought from the Glam Polish Over the Rainbow flakies collection. These are super special limited edition because some of the ingredients used in them are not longer available, so when they're gone, that's all folks! Let's check them out :)

Ohana is a dark cherry red jelly with subtle holographic particles, red/yellow iridescent flakies, and pink and gold glass flecks. Easy, smooth formula and it was opaque in two coats. Love this! The name reminds me of the movie Lilo & Stitch haha.
Glam Polish Ohana

Hibiscus is seriously one of the polishes of my dreams! It's a bright orangey coral with subtle holographic particles, rainbow iridescent flakies, and red, peach and gold glass flecks. I wish it leaned a little more pink, but I still am head over heels for this. Two fabulous coats and LOOK AT THE FLAKIES! So pretty!
Glam Polish Hibiscus

I purchased these from the Glam Polish website for $12 each. I believe they only ship to Australia and the US, but they have international stockists listed here. Like I said, these are very limited edition so be sure to act quickly if you want any. There are 15 shades in the Over the Rainbow collections (there are three parts) so you should go and check them out, there's bound to be something that you'd love!

Talk to you again soon!

R29 + Rescue Beauty Lounge Collection Swatches & Review

This is a very exciting day my friends, because today I get to show you the newest collection from Rescue Beauty Lounge. It's a special one because it's a collaboration with none other than Refinery29! If you haven't heard, Refinery29 is an incredible fashion and style website that covers shopping, beauty, wellness and celebrities! The collection is called R29 + Rescue Beauty Lounge and it contains 7 new polishes created with the different teams from Refinery29.

Bubblegum Punk was created with R29 News team. This is a iridescent rainbowy silver white shimmer/flakes. I find this insanely gorgeous. It's got a cellophane effect that is really cool. I used three coats here. This would be really great layered as well.
Rescue Beauty Lounge Bubblegum Punk

It looks a bit different in the shade/low light so here's another shot for you.
Rescue Beauty Lounge Bubblegum Punk

Sunny Skies comes from the R29 Health and Wellness team. When I saw the name of this polish I expected to find a bright yellow in the box, but to my surprise and delight I saw a slightly dusty turquoisey blue-green crème. I can't believe we didn't already have this color in the RBL family, it feels essential and like it's been with me for years. I love it, but I have inklings that this might be a stainer so protect your nails with a double layer of base coat. Two coats.
Rescue Beauty Lounge Sunny Skies

Pretty Gritty was imagined by the R29 Beauty team. This was the one I was immediately in love with when I saw it. It's a bruised mauvey moody purple with tiny gold microshimmer flakes. I really like this and the formula is seriously terrific. Two coats but you might be able to get away with one.
Rescue Beauty Lounge Pretty Gritty

Better Than Boyfriend Jeans is the R29 Shopping team's color. This is an uber pale baby blue jelly crème that is really lovely and comforting. It is a tad greyed and sooo soft feeling, just like the perfect worn in pair of jeans! I love this way more than I expected to. Three coats.
Rescue Beauty Lounge Better Than Boyfriend Jeans

Elvis In The Cloud came from the minds of the R29 Technology team. This might be the color I never thought I'd see from RBL, it's so different from what we usually see from them. It's a mid-tone orange copper metallic with a touch of subtle duochrome iridescence. I keep reading this name as "elves" haha, which made sense because this leans a little on the christmas-y side for me. Two coats, a little brushstrokey.
Rescue Beauty Lounge Elvis In the Cloud

All About Yves is the R29 Fashion team's contribution. They chose a ridiculously beautiful cobalt blue creme that would look amazing on anyone. Lovely jelly crème formula with incredible pigmentation. I immediately thought of retired IKB:2012 when I saw this blue but it's a bit brighter with a better formula. Two coats gives you perfect opacity.
Rescue Beauty Lounge All About Yves

Galaxy Glue is the last shade and it comes from the R29 Creative team. It's a green metallic, same kind of finish as Elvis but less opaque. Reminds me a bit of that greeny blue duochrome that was really popular last year that lots of brands were coming out with, but it's pretty different. There's a hint of grey brown to it that makes it more complex and soft. Three coats, kinda brushstrokey.
Rescue Beauty Lounge Galaxy Glue

Be sure to check out the RBL blog and Refinery29 for more insight into how these colors came to life. Also, as always, please check out and enjoy the reviews from the other RBL bloggers: Peachy Polish, NailsandNoms, Manicurator, Polish Police, Refined and Polished, Fashion Polish, Makeup Withdrawal, Warm Vanilla Sugar and newcomer The Beauty Look BookScrangie may or may not be putting her post up at the same time, just an FYI.

These are available for purchase exclusively on RescueBeauty.com now for $20 per bottle. What do you think of these colors? I think the Refinery29 folks did an exceptional job on their color ideas and Ji brought them to life beautifully. My favorites are All About Yves, Bubblegum Punk and Better Than Boyfriend Jeans.

Thanks for stopping by!

My Picks from the SuperChic Lacquer Into the Woods Collection Swatches & Review

Hey superfriends! I'm excited to be showing you some awesome polishes today from indie brand SuperChic Lacquer. They are my first colors from the brand and I'm quite impressed. The collection is called Into the Woods, inspired by the upcoming fairytale movie starring Meryl Streep and Anna Kendrick. The collection has 10 shades but I only purchased four, the ones that looked most exciting to me. Although, I'm kind of thinking I might need some others!

First up is Baker's Hunger for a Bun in the Oven. Just so you know the names of these polishes are outrageous haha. It's described as "a muted deep lush blue-gray with contrasting fiery-copper iridescent shimmer and holographic effects". This is kinda sheer, but I think that's the nature of this collection, just the way they're composed. You might get away with two coats if you don't mind visible nail line, but I recommend three or maybe four if you have long nails. I don't really mind that, but thought it was important to note. I find this magically beautiful. It's breathtaking in the sunlight. Dries satiny so you'll need a top coat.
SuperChic Lacquer Baker's Hunger for a Bun in the Oven

Next is Let Your Hair Down and Take a Selfie. The creator says this is a "vibrant golden yellow base with strong fiery-copper iridescent, subtle holographic and brilliant red shimmer effects". I wasn't sure I wanted this one at first, but after seeing lots of photos of it I knew I'd regret it if I didn't. The red bits make it a total unique must have for me. It's sheer again, but the pigment is hefty. I needed three coats. It also dried matte/satin.
SuperChic Lacquer Let Your Hair Down and Take a Selfie

Here is You Don't Know Jack About My Beans, a "a lush artichoke green with strong contrasting fiery iridescent, holographic and green shimmer effects". That sounds amazing to me and the color itself is even better. Pictures don't do it justice. It's the sheerest of the ones I tried, I used three coats here but I think I'd recommend doing four or to layer it. I showed on instagram a while ago and I had layered it over swampy green crème China Glaze Westside Warrior, and it was dope! It really showed the copper shimmer.
SuperChic Lacquer You Don't Know Jack About My Beans

And last is Nightshade Serum to Youth, Like Actually!, the reason I fell in love with this collection and took the plunge to try them in the first place. It's described as "a lush eggplant purple base with contrasting green iridescent shimmer, vibrant green chrome flash and holographic effects". This leans surprisingly on the frosty side of shimmery, but I think it still works really well. It could get a little brushstroke-y if you push too firmly on your brush upon application. Love, just pure love. Dries shinier than the others but it still needs a top coat.
SuperChic Lacquer Nightshade Serum to Youth, Like Actually!

The bottle design from this brand is quite different, it's square on the bottom but on two opposite sides it slants in diagonally in towards the handle. Its kind of got an optical illusion thing going on. I like it to look at, but to hold for photos is quite awkward haha, as you can see by my non-uniformly posed pictures. The brush worked really well for me, it's like a more petite version of the OPI pro-wide brush, although the stem seemed a little short to me.

As I mentioned before this collection has 10 shades in total and if you're curious, you can see the entire collection on my friends' blogs: MissHollyBerries and Sparkly Tips. These polishes can be purchased on the SuperChic Lacquer Etsy store for $10 each. What do you think of these? I'm smitten! I'm also very excited to see the movie when it comes out! :)

See you soon friends!

❤ Kellie

Femme Fatale Cosmetics - Mana Ruby

Hi folks! Today I have a beautiful indie polish from Femme Fatale Cosmetics to show you. It's called Mana Ruby and I'm seriously smitten with her! This is a bright pinky red see-through jelly with matte red hex glitters and lots of blue iridescent glitters in varying sizes. This polish in the sun is like WHOA! I love funky unique polishes like this and was dying to get my hands on it. I'm so glad I was able to snatch it up! This is two coats.
