Dita Von Teese Nails by Kiss

I am super into old Hollywood glamour. 30's and 40's retro style is totally my thing. I adore Dita Von Teese, the international burlesque star who brought the style mainstream. She is truly a style icon. Her look has long been coveted and copied by women everywhere.

I have long been interested in her nail style, she wears them long with a tapered oval shape, in a deep red shade with a silver half moon, just like the famous starlets of years gone by. Attainable with lots of time and patience yes, but now thanks to a collaboration with Kiss Nails, this style has become a whole lot easier to achieve.

I got the opportunity to try these out and I absolutely adore them! They're just long enough to be luxurious but not so long as to be troublesome. I personally love the nail shape more than anything, because I can't grow my natural nails out like this, it's nice to be able to fake it.

These gorgeous press-on nails are available now on Dita's website, www.DitasDomain.com (although they are temporarily sold out) for $9.99. The nails come in 12 sizes in a package of 24. They are a must-have for any Dita fan!

essie risky business

i really enjoy essie polishes. i love cremes so that's probably why haha. they rarely step out of their little creme box. but when they do, i feel like they really knock something loose and cool. like...ever heard of starry starry night? well I HAVE! haha for instance, this jelly electric orangey/red called risky business, is far from your typical essie varnish. it's super shimmery! it's a JELLY! it's awesomely pigmented. and it's totally fun. and it's not pink. are you suuuuure it's an essie? yup pretty sure! haha, i love the little essie bottle, so sophisticated and clean. so i'm a sucker for them. and i am a sucker for risky business. this is 3 coats & no topcoat. i love it!

zoya zara & my special package

awww my dear zoyas how i love them so! i think they absolutely have the best color range of any polish. the formula is pretty good, a little thicker on this first one i'm showing, zara. the lovely lavender/purple is ga ga gorgeous and it has tons of golden shimmer in it and flashes bronzey and sandy in certain lights. i've heard people describe this as a slight jelly but the jury is still out for me. it was the harder out of the three zoyas i have to apply but i just love it soooo!also to shake it up a bit, i added some nail art today (second day) inspired by the diva's polish's post who posted because she was inspired by a tutorial she saw on youtube. (check out her blog it's great!) i obviously didn't do the tips but put the stripes and dots on using white kiss brush on nail art paint. i also used color club's crystal glitter art club nail art brush to do stripes in between the white stripes. and i even accomplished the look on my right hand, which i couldn't believe. it's definitely not my usual look, but it was fun to do and that is all that matters yes?also waiting for me on saturday was a package from mary of body and soul. i won one of the two packs she was giving away in july YAY!! and i was super super super impressed with the gift. can't wait to try these out! :)hope everyone had a great weekend :) i had fun hanging out with my sister and nephew who came into town for a mini-break. byeeee♥
