Pretty Serious Cosmetics Holiday 2016 Ghosts of Christmas Past Collection Swatches & Review

I'm back today with another bunch of gorgeous shades from Pretty Serious Cosmetics, their Holiday collection for 2016, Ghosts of Christmas Past! Last year we got the Ghosts of Christmas Future, so maybe next year we'll get the Ghosts of Christmas Present? Haha on to the pretties!

Very Merry Berry is a deep neutral red jelly crème. This applied easily and was nice and opaque in just two coats.
Pretty Serious Cosmetics Very Merry Berry

Fairy Lights is a pale pearly frosted grey with pink and purple shimmer. This is ethereal and glowy, not a frost so there are no brush strokes to be seen! Lovely to apply, three coats.
Pretty Serious Cosmetics Fairy Lights

Enchanting Evergreen is a deep evergreen with flat green shimmer laced throughout. Fabulous, effortless formula. This is two coats.
Pretty Serious Cosmetics Enchanting Evergreen

Tarnished Tinsel is a full coverage gold glitter with sneaky bits of red and silver twinkle here and there. The gold glitter pieces are actually very small, short bar pieces, my friend Peachy Polish has an excellent macro on her review in case you want to see the splendor! I used two coats.
Pretty Serious Cosmetics Tarnished Tinsel

Velvet Bow is a dark buttery smooth metallic red, one of those shades with an internal glow. Insane formula, a one coat wonder but I used two here.
Pretty Serious Cosmetics Velvet Bow

Peace On Earth is a pale minty green with a soft but robust pink shimmer. An almost on the nose dupe for YSL Peace Green, if you've been lusting after that one. The strong shimmer and pigmented base lend to an easy two coat formula.
Pretty Serious Cosmetics Peace On Earth

Mojito is a color shifting topper that flexes from gold to green to subtle blue. I layered one coat over Very Merry Berry. This looks so rad! I bet it would be even extra with a matte top coat, I'm kicking myself for not trying that out and taking a photo.
Pretty Serious Cosmetics Mojito over Very Merry Berry

Jack Frost is an icy shimmer topper with added iridescent glitters that positively glow! I layered one coat over Enchanting Evergreen for a glistening winter look.
Pretty Serious Cosmetics Jack Frost over Enchanting Evergreen

This collection is available on the Pretty Serious Cosmetics website now for $9.95 AUD, which is about $7.20 USD with the current exchange rate. I'm very pleased with this collection, we get some traditional holiday colors in unique finishes and some out of the box shades too! Let me know your thoughts!

Glam Polish Every Witch Way Collection [Partial] Swatches & Review

A Witchy Friday to you, kind reader! Today I have a new bunch of shades to share with you from Australian indie brand Glam Polish, the Every Witch Way collection! This is a six piece collection of wintery pale shades that invoke feelings of mystical sorceresses instead of the cackling green witches we think of around Halloween. I've got five of the colors to show you, so let's take a look!

Resting Witch Face is a pale greyed out blue holographic crelly with blue and purple glass fleck shimmer. This applied easily, it was nice and creamy for such a bangin holo! Two coats. Confession? I'm pretty sure I have been accused of having a "resting witch face." ;)
Glam Polish Resting Witch Face

Every Witch Way has multiple sizes of pink, blue, white and silver holographic glitter along with color shifting iridescent glitter in a clear base. I layered one coat over Resting Witch Face. This is so gorgeous! The glitter will dry bumpy so you'll want a thick layer of top coat. This would also look really great over darker colors!
Glam Polish Every Witch Way

I had to show a photo of this in the shade. The shifty glitters give the polish such a different look in low light! (and oddly made it look kinda purple, but it's not purple)
Glam Polish Every Witch Way @kelliegonzoblog

Karma’s A Witch is a soft violet holographic crelly with purple glass fleck shimmer. This was just as great as the other crelly holo, though this one was slightly more jelly than crème. Just as opaque though, only two coats for opacity.
Glam Polish Karma's A Witch

Witches Be Trippin’ has multiple sizes of black, white and silver holographic glitter along with more of those color shifting iridescent glitter pieces in a clear base. I put one coat on top of Karma's A Witch. This is incredibly beautiful and I am mesmerized by it. You will probably want a thick top coat for this one as well to get a smooth finish.
Glam Polish Witches Be Trippin'

Another shade shot for you! I am totally in love with this.
Glam Polish Witches Be Trippin'

Witch Be Like… has an aqua tinted jelly base with purple glass flecks and multiple sizes of holographic glitter. This guy was slightly runny for me, but not terribly so. The jelly base can get goopy if you pile on your coats too quickly, so be sure to wait a few minutes between layers to get the best application. I used two here.
Glam Polish Witch Be Like

The last shade that I don't have to show you is Witch With Attitude, a pink tinted jelly base with blue glass flecks and multiple sizes of holographic glitter, sort of the sister shade to Witches Be Like... You can see some lovely swatches of that gal on the Glam Polish instagram page!

This collection goes on sale today Dec. 9 at 1pm EST on the Glam Polish website. You can save 10% when purchasing the entire collection. Let me know what you think about these gorgeous Glam shades! I'm not exaggerating when I say everyone needs Witches Be Trippin' haha!

China Glaze Fall 2016 Rebel Collection Swatches & Review

Happy Friday everyone! Today I took a trip down memory lane with the Fall 2016 collection from China Glaze! Rebel gives us 12 shades inspired by the "quintessential juxtaposition of the 90s." I was born in '86 so I lived through the entirety of the 90s decade and it definitely left an impression on me. 90s fashion is coming back in a big way so this collection is super timely and really gave my nostalgic heart a twinge. Let's take a look at the colors!
photos via China Glaze, collage via me

Purple Fiction is a stunning royal metallic plum. This applied amazingly, a touch on the thin side but covered easily in two coats. And no visible brushstrokes, they seemed to melt away! I'm obsessed with this jewel-like shade. Pulp Fiction is one of my favorite movies of all time too, so I love the name.
China Glaze Purple Fiction

Dope Taupe is a soft greige taupe crème. Perfect formula, opaque on one coat! I used two here. I still say "dope", I didn't realize it was 90s slang haha.
China Glaze Dope Taupe

Blue-Ya is a sapphire blue jelly with gleaming blue and green shimmer flakes. Great formula, easy to apply and opaque on two coats. I couldn't stop staring at this when I put it on!
China Glaze Blue-Ya

Heroine Chic is a charcoal brown metallic with flecks of red shimmer. This applied well but had a thinner formula than I expected. Still, only two coats were necessary for full coverage. This has some brushstrokes, but they look ok due to the metallic-ness of the base. I almost wish this was a crème though, and interestingly enough it was described as such in the press materials. *shrug*
China Glaze Heroine Chic

Pearl Jammin' is a pale blue with a strong pearly opalescent shimmer. This was pretty thin, but was almost opaque in two coats. I used three for 100% coverage. A little brushstrokey, but such is to be expected with this type of shimmer. Reminds me of a seashell!
China Glaze Pearl Jammin'

Y'all Ready For This? is a warm red with microshimmer that subtly reflects a blueish-purple. Nice, normal formula, two coats for opacity. This is very pigmented and it may stain your skin upon removal, so be careful. Even thinking the name of this gets that song stuck in my head haha.
China Glaze Y'all Ready For This?

Jagged Little Teal is a rich teal crème. Lovely formula, easy to apply and buttery smooth. Almost a one coater, but I needed that second layer to make it fully opaque. I really appreciate the Alanis Morissette reference, her music and lyrics fed my pseudo-angsty pre-teen soul. I probably definitely shouldn't have been listening and singing along to some of those songs at that age though haha.
China Glaze Jagged Little Teal

Don't Mesh With Me is an iridescent lavender microshimmer in a clear base. I applied one coat over Jagged Little Teal. I would personally only wear this layered over another color, I am pretty sure it's meant to be a topper.
China Glaze Don't Mesh With Me

Buuuut, I thought I'd be a trooper and show it on its own anyway. This is three coats of Don't Mesh With Me. Not bad to build up application wise, but it'll probably never really be opaque.
China Glaze Don't Mesh With Me

Fresh Prince-ss is a baby pink crème. I found this to be streaky on two coats so I used three. This reminds me of the pink clothes worn in the movie "Clueless", which I've seen about a million times!
China Glaze Fresh Prince-ss

Combat Blue-ts is an insanely luxe looking royal blue matte crème. Mattes can be difficult to apply because they dry so quickly, so I used the three-stroke method when applying this and worked fast to get a smooth result. Opaque in one coat but I used two.
China Glaze Combat Blue-ts

This is Combat Blue-ts with a top coat. Very pretty of course, but I think I prefer it matte for a more unique look. I didn't have any staining with this, but didn't wear it very long. I always wanted combat boots in the 90s but I never got them.
China Glaze Combat Blue-ts

Holo At Ya Girl! is a green gold iridescent microglitter with small blue and green hex glitter in a clear base. I used one coat over Combat Blue-ts. Despite the name, there is nothing holographic about the glitter.
China Glaze Holo At Ya Girl!

And this is Holo At Ya Girl! by itself at three coats. This one is wearable on its own, unlike the other glitter in the collection in my humble opinion, but it's not my favorite look. Since it's so blingy though, even though you can see through to the nail in the photo, in real life it's less apparent.
China Glaze Holo At Ya Girl! // @kelliegonzoblog

Teen Spirit is a deep inky purple with metallic shifty microshimmer. We saw a similar shade a few times last year from some other brands, but this is more purple than those. Nice, easy formula and opaque on two coats. Dries very shiny, but I always recommend a top coat. So glad they put a Nirvana reference in!
China Glaze Teen Spirit

This collection is available at retailers like Sally Beauty Supply and Ulta Beauty now for around $7.50 each. What do you think of these shades? Were you a 90s chick? I am pretty pleased with the colors in this collection, and am impressed with the ease of the formulas! Let me know what you think!

Nine Zero Lacquer July 2016 and Flakie All The Things Swatches & Review

Happy Sunday friends! Today I have two new polishes from indie brand Nine Zero Lacquer, YouTuber Jessface90's brand, just in case you didn't know. The July Polish of the Month and a new layering topper are coming at ya!

July 2016 is a warm gold holographic with holographic silver microglitter mixed in to make it pop. This is in the style of their other POTM shades, and I love it! I can't wait to see next month's shade! This was easy to apply, but a little thick. I used two coats here. It dries dull so you'll want a top coat for shine.
Nine Zero Lacquer July 2016

Flakie All The Things!! is a holographic micro flakie top coat. Adding a layer of this polish over any color will give a terrific scattered holographic effect! I applied one coat over a black crème and was very impressed by the density of the flakies on just one layer. I can see getting a lot of use out of this!
Nine Zero Lacquer Flakie All The Things!!

These are available now on the Nine Zero Lacquer website. July 2016 is $11 and Flakie is $9. What do you think of these two new polishes?

Cirque Colors Vice 2016 Collection Swatches & Review

Hi friends! New York based indie brand Cirque Colors has a new collection for Summer out now, the 2016 edition of the Vice Collection! You remember last year's Vice colors? They were hot, but these might be even hotter!

Plastik is a brilliant magenta purpley pink crème. This leans a little purple, and is incredibly bright. Opaque in two easy coats. Dries a little satiny, so you'll want a top coat for shine.
Cirque Colors Plastik

Rehab is a bright blue-purple crème. Not neon, but really saturated and it fits in with the other summery shades nicely. Excellent formula, two coats.
Cirque Colors Rehab

Electric Daisy is a neon chartreuse yellow crème. Intensely bright, you practically need shades to look at it! I was almost able to get this opaque in two but I needed three for complete coverage. But look ma, no white base!
Cirque Colors Electric Daisy

High Roller is a bright mint-turquoise crème. I don't know if this type of color is possible to get neon, but this is pretty close. A great, easy formula. Two coats.
Cirque Colors High Roller

Sin City is a sizzling neon flamingo pinky coral-red crème. This is so super vivid and my lame camera absolutely refused to show it's true intensity. You'll just have to believe me, it's CRAZY neon! A little on the thin side, a tad runny, but opaque on two coats. You'll want a top coat for shine.
Cirque Colors Sin City

We Trippy is a sparkly linear holographic top coat, the only comeback shade from last year's Vice collection. I loved it last year and I love it this year! I layered one coat over all the shades, turning them into holo babes!
Cirque Colors We Trippy - Vice 2016 Collection

This limited edition collection is available now on the Cirque Colors website. They're offering special pricing until July 1st (or while supplies last), you can purchase all five Vice 2016 crèmes for $55 (which is $10 off - originally $65). Individually they are priced at $13 each, along with We Trippy. What do you think of this scorching set? My friend Ida over at Ida Nails It did an awesome watermarble with these, check it out! Talk to you again soon! :)

Moo Moo's Signatures New Shades Swatches & Review

What's going on cookies?? I have some awesome new polishes from Moo Moo's Signatures to share with you today! This Singapore based indie brand creates super cute polishes and they're always interesting and out of the box.

Yellow Hare is a neon yellow holo with tiny silver white flakies. This looks a little bit more green in certain lighting, I would call it a chartreuse. Two coats, pretty normal formula, but if you do thinner coats you might prefer using three layers.
Moo Moo's Signatures Yellow Hare

Meet Piggie Under The Sun is a "piggie" pink holographic which has an almost metallic finish, flecked with with tiny green and pink sparkles. Opaque in one coat but I used two here. Very easy and smooth application! Dries a bit dull so you'll want a top coat.
Moo Moo's Signatures Meet Piggie Under The Sun

Moo-struck is a purple scattered holographic with black stars, red stars, black dots, green dots, magenta hexes, turquoise hexes, iridescent glitters, silver and gold flakies. Also, this polish comes with a small bag of extra black and red star shaped glitters for extra bling! They would also be perfect for nail art, though I haven't tried that yet. This one has a similar formula to Yellow Hare but with the added glitters it made it a touch thick. I had to manipulate the glitters a tiny bit but nothing too intensive haha. This is two coats. Dries down to a satin finish so you'll want a top coat.
Moo Moo's Signatures Moo-struck

Whisper A Wish has a clear base with lots of pretty color-shifting translucent glitters, tiny silver stars, silver dots, gold dots, gold squares, holo silver hexes, holo gold hexes, tiny yellow-green iridescent glitters and tiny pink flakies. I've layered one coat over a black crème here to show off the iridescence. So firey and pretty! Easy to apply, with a little bit of placement for the larger glitters. Great glitter density!

These polishes are all available on their Etsy store now for around 12 Euros for each 12ml bottle. They are 3-free and ship from Singapore. What do you think of these pretties? Be sure to see my previous posts featuring other Moo Moo's Signatures polishes, a lot of them are still available in their store!

Nine Zero Lacquer ROY G BIV Collection Swatches & Review

Hey party people! I have a new rainbow themed collection to show you today from indie brand Nine Zero Lacquer! The ROY G BIV collection features seven linear holographic shades in rainbow colors and three rainbow-y glitters. Let's take a look!

Refraction is a warm red linear holographic. This applies amazingly and is opaque in one coat, but I've done two here.
Nine Zero Lacquer Refraction

Frequency is a bright orange linear holographic. Another one coater, but I used two.
Nine Zero Lacquer Frequency

Dispersion is a sunny yellow linear holographic. Great formula again! I used two layers to cover my nail line completely.
Nine Zero Lacquer Dispersion

Spectrum is a light green linear holographic. Another great formula, two coats here.
Nine Zero Lacquer Spectrum

Wavelength is a sapphire blue linear holographic. I felt like this one was a little thicker than the other shades, but not difficult to apply. It almost covers in one coat, but I did need two to cover my nail line fully.
Nine Zero Lacquer Wavelength

Reflect is a rich indigo linear holographic. This shade covered my nail completely in one, but I used two layers here like usual.
Nine Zero Lacquer Reflect

Chromatic is a cool-toned violet linear holographic. Full opacity on two coats with this gal.
Nine Zero Lacquer Chromatic

Kaleidoscope is a translucent rainbow glitter topper. The nature of the glitter type will make them look very dark in the bottle, but they pop over a white or lighter color. This is super mega jam packed with glitter, so I found it to be really thick. This is two coats over a white crème. I love the effect it gives, it reminds me of old 3-D glasses with the colored lenses! The next time I wear it I will probably thin out the base a little.
Nine Zero Lacquer Kaleidoscope

Prism is a silver holographic microglitter with rainbow holographic microglitter mixed throughout. This one was also on the thick side, but not difficult or unusual for a microglitter like this. It has great glitter density, full coverage is achieved in just two coats.
Nine Zero Lacquer Prism

Nine Zero Lacquer Prism

Double Rainbow is an opaque white crelly polish with matte rainbow microglitter in a few different sizes. This is pretty thick and a little chunky with the extreme amount of glitter, but it's surprisingly easy to apply which is really nice. This is right on the border of being a one coater for me, I did two like usual and found it to be a little thicker on my nail than I'd like, especially with a thick top coat to smooth the glitter, so in the future I'll do one coat. Or you could even layer it over an opaque white crème for maximum coverage.
Nine Zero Lacquer Double Rainbow

This collection is available for pre-order now through 4/7 at 11:59pm EST. After pre-orders have been sent out, they will be available on the Nine Zero website for regular purchase. The holographic polishes are priced at $11 individually, Kaleidoscope and Double Rainbow are $9, and Prism is $10. The full set is $100, saving a few bucks if you order them all together. This isn't a limited edition collection so if you aren't able to purchase right away, they should be available for a while.
