OPI Damone Roberts 1968 Swatch & Review

I have wanted this nail polish for a loooong time. It was one of my biggest lemmings up until recently. Limited edition OPI Damone Roberts 1968 had even been repromoted a few times but I had missed every launch. I heard during a session of #NailGlossip that it was coming back once again, but before it was released, a good friend and fellow nail polish blogger offered to send me one of her extra bottles of it. Of course I said yes! Thanks again, girl!

Damone Roberts 1968 is a collaboration shade OPI created with salon owner and entrepreneur Damone Roberts back in 2009. According to his website, the color was matched to his salon walls described as "a different green with undertones of a soft grey, and a warm brown that works well on every skin tone". The formula is overall pretty good, it was a bit streaky on some nails. This is two coats of mint pistachio heaven! I am seriously in love.

It is on the pricey side, being $20 instead of OPI's usual $9.50, but it's worth it in my opinion. I might even buy a back up bottle because I love it so much! You can purchase this directly on the Damone Roberts website, but hurry because supplies might not last much longer, it has sold out three times before. I hope you enjoyed this and we'll see ya next time!

Colors by Llarowe - Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star

Today I will be reviewing a nail polish from polish e-tailer turned polish maker Llarowe. Her brand is called Colors by Llarowe and this polish is called Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star. I remember when she first posted about it on her facebook page, saying she was mixing colors and one of them was remarkably similar to Essie's infamous Starry, Starry Night polish, a very hard to find, and expensive when you do, vintage polish. As soon as it was available for sale I snapped it right up because I've been lemming SSN practically since I started blogging!

Twinkle is a dark navy blue jelly packed with tiny square silver glitter pieces, like a stunning night sky. The formula was a bit on the thick side, I found it worked best when I applied it slowly. This is two coats and a top coat, although it is nicely shiny on it's own. I have seen comparisons between this and SSN and it's a touch deeper in color but is otherwise almost indiscernible.

You can pick this up on Llarowe's website for $12 for a 12 mL bottle. What do you think of this polish? Do you own the Essie polish it's modeled after? If so, how do you think they compare? I still want the original haha, I'm a sucker for the "unicorn" polishes that are hard to find.

China Glaze - Dripping Wet

Hiiiiii friends :) I finally got one of my all time biggest lemmings the other day, so I had to show it to you right away! China Glaze's Dripping Wet is a deliciously dark raspberry jelly that shines like crystallized sap on a tree! Ok that might be going a bit far, but it really is amazing and super shiny! I believe it came out in the Patent Leather collection circa 2003.

This is four coats, making it deep and intense. I adore jelly polishes! I can't even tell ya. You might be able to find this vintage polish on ebay like I did, otherwise not sure where you could pick it up. Are there any old-y polishes out there that you're lemming these days?

OPI Black Tie Optional

Lemmings, and tigers, and bears, oh my! OPI's Black Tie Optional is one of their old formula duochromes that is hard to find and simply gorgeous. A polish collector like me had to hunt one down. I was very lucky to get a bottle in a swap with a friend not too long ago, woo hoo! It is very pretty, there even some tiny silver sparkles in it although they don't really translate in these pictures.
Are there any lemmings you have killed lately?

Lippmann Rehab

The impossible has happened. One of my biggest and most un-attainable polish lemmings has been acquired at last. Lippmann Rehab. It was under kind of shady circumstances so I won't go into it (don't worry, I didn't steal it or anything, sheesh) but let's just say it didn't get into my hands easily.

Rehab is the jelly to end all jellies. It's a sheer watery navy blue. At two coats there's a subtle wash of color and with four you get a deep punch of blue. I love it! It's everything I wished it would be.
Of course, top coat has to ruin everything, there is tip-pull and bubbles :P Otherwise, this is perfect. LOVE!
