80s nails & a haul (pic heavy)

this is the manicure i wore for my friend's 80s themed birthday party a few weeks ago. everyone loved them haha, it was good times. i used essie's flirty fuchsia and massini lightening blue. as you can see, i freehanded the triangles (cuz they suck a bit haha). but it was a last minute decision as i was running late for the occasion.
as i am feeling brave, i've included a few select pictures of some of the festivities below:

massini neons

i love neon polishes. i just have to say it. i la la LOOOOVE neons. i wish they were more wear-able. but i do what i want. so i wear them :D mary from body and soul blog gifted me with these in a contest win a while ago and i adore these massinis! they wear really well and have amazing colors plus a fun bottle shape. first pictures, then we talk.the first neon is a drop dead bright day glo called orange sunset. it dries matte as most neons do (first picture), and looks awesome that way, but really really looks unbelievable when covered with a topcoat. i used seche vite (second picture) and guuuuuurl, my camera couldn't HANDLE the hotness! look at that ethereal glow! i swear i glowed (glew?) in the dark with these tips. and flawless, flawless as could be, these looked like glass with topcoat. i wore this color for a WEEK.

this blue is called lightning blue which is such a cutie name. it went on sheerish looking and kinda jelly like but only two coats were needed for this opacity. i definitely don't have anything like it. another bright bright and matte w/o topcoat (first pic) . but of course i had to top it with my beloved seche. and again, it turned out looking completely flawless (second pic). how? idk cuz i'm no queen of application like some of the other bloggers around here ;) but if i can make these babies look this grand, so can you!

i think mary is selling massini polishes on her blog so head on over and check it out if you want to get your paws on some. i have some glitters and shimmers from them that i won too so i need to get swatching (and posting, i am so behind)

peace & love dear readers!!

2 pedi's and a quick mani

this manicure i did in literally like 5 minutes for my cousin's wedding last weekend. it is pure ice rosebud :) two coats, probably should've done 3 but oh well. cute i think.this pedicure i actually rocked for like two weeks. the base is massini (one that i won from mary at body and soul blog THANKS again!) infusion and sally hansen xtreme wear vip pink over the top for some sparkle.
the second pedi is the one i'm currently wearing, color club milky white base, maybelline salon expert white, and tropez super pearl enamel in aqua pearl for the flowers. i'm loving the tropez brand, the bottle reminds me of barry m (although there's not very many colors that i saw in walgreens).hope your weekends are going great! i'm being a swatching fool, so look out :)

zoya zara & my special package

awww my dear zoyas how i love them so! i think they absolutely have the best color range of any polish. the formula is pretty good, a little thicker on this first one i'm showing, zara. the lovely lavender/purple is ga ga gorgeous and it has tons of golden shimmer in it and flashes bronzey and sandy in certain lights. i've heard people describe this as a slight jelly but the jury is still out for me. it was the harder out of the three zoyas i have to apply but i just love it soooo!also to shake it up a bit, i added some nail art today (second day) inspired by the diva's polish's post who posted because she was inspired by a tutorial she saw on youtube. (check out her blog it's great!) i obviously didn't do the tips but put the stripes and dots on using white kiss brush on nail art paint. i also used color club's crystal glitter art club nail art brush to do stripes in between the white stripes. and i even accomplished the look on my right hand, which i couldn't believe. it's definitely not my usual look, but it was fun to do and that is all that matters yes?also waiting for me on saturday was a package from mary of body and soul. i won one of the two packs she was giving away in july YAY!! and i was super super super impressed with the gift. can't wait to try these out! :)hope everyone had a great weekend :) i had fun hanging out with my sister and nephew who came into town for a mini-break. byeeee♥
