KBShimmer Office Space Collection Swatches & Review

Hey folks, I'm here today to show you the next KBShimmer collection coming soon in January, the Office Space collection! “Sometimes you want to be a bit naughty, but stay within the professional lines. The Office Space collection consists of eight naughty and neutral shade ideas for the office. These shades add a pop of color and sparkle to your nails, while still keeping the boss happy." My job doesn't discriminate against any nail polish colors, thank goodness, but if they did, these colors would be a revelation!

Take Back CTRL is a dusty rose mauve crème. Leans purple but is on the border of the pink family I think. Excellent formula, buttery and smooth. Opaque in two coats.
KBShimmer Take Back CTRL

A Hint Of Manila is in the famous KBShimmer mega flame finish, this has a light tan base loaded with tons of holographic sparkle. A touch thick but not difficult to apply. This is two coats. Dries with a glitter texture so you'll want a thick layer of top coat or two for a smooth finish.
KBShimmer A Hint Of Manila

Staple Relationship is a deepened gray with slight purple undertones full of metallic silver flakes and holographic sparkle. This is in the KBShimmer birthstone finish, a favorite of mine. Super opaque, a one coater! I used two anyway though. The flakies dry flat so there is no texture to this one.
KBShimmer Staple Relationship

Caught On Tape is a pale pink mauve crème. This is simple and pretty, really classic. Lovely formula, really excellent for such a light color! And quite opaque, I only needed two coats.
KBShimmer Caught On Tape

Fax Of Life is a dark platinum grey linear holographic shade. I was pretty floored at how opaque this guy was, almost a one coater but I used two for 100% coverage. Easy and breezy and great!
KBShimmer Fax Of Life

Supplies Party has a warm vanilla cream base loaded with metallic flakes and holographic sparkle. Another birthstone finish shade with a great formula. An unexpected favorite, two coats.
KBShimmer Supplies Party

Cubicle Pusher is a muted dusty grape holographic. Great formula, just a little on the thinner side. I used three coats here but you could probably get away with just two, I think I was being cautious haha.
KBShimmer Cubicle Pusher

Makin’ Copies is a pale silver filled with white shimmer and holographic pigment. The holo in this is subtle, but it's definitely there. A bit more sheer, but being an almost white, that isn't really unexpected. I used three coats here.
KBShimmer Makin' Copies

This collection will launch on Wednesday, January 4th on the KBShimmer website. The polishes will sell for $9.25 each. For international folks, check out Harlow & Co., though I'm not sure what date they will be available there. Let me know what you think about these neutral beauties!

Powder Perfect Antique Princess Duo Mei Mei's Signatures Exclusive Swatches & Review

Good day to you dear friend! Australian indie brand Powder Perfect has created an exclusive duo for Singapore based nail polish stockist Mei Mei's Signatures called the Antique Princess duo and I've got them to show you today!

Contested Crown is a mauvey purple shimmery holographic filled with blue to purple shifting micro flakes. This is gorgeous and deep and complex. A little thin, but applied easily. I used three coats, but two would probably work fine for most. The holo is more apparent in person, it was harder to capture in a photo.
Powder Perfect Contested Crown

Forgotten Princess features gold to fuchsia shifting metallic flakies in an olive green jelly base. This reminds me of a magical forest, perhaps that is where the princess got forgotten? Good formula, a touch on the runny side, so don't overload your brush with product. This is three coats.
Powder Perfect Forgotten Princess

These are available now on the Mei Mei's Signature's website for SGD 17.00 each, which is about $12.50 USD with the current exchange rate. Let me know what you think of these lacquers! Are you more into the shimmer/holo or the flakies? Talk to you again soon!

OPI Brights 2016: Alice Through The Looking Glass Collection Swatches & Review

OPI is celebrating the release of Disney's Alice Through The Looking Glass with a new Brights collection! The shades represent the film’s mad, crazy, wonderful characters and their latest adventures. There are eight colors in the collection and one bonus special edition shade.

Oh My Majesty! is an alabaster white shimmer with a pink/copper flash. This is a little sheer, but not terribly so. You could use two coats and still get a bit of visible nail line for a dainty, more natural look. I used three coats here for full opacity.
OPI Oh My Majesty!

Fearlessly Alice is a bright cerulean blue crème. This is super pigmented and creamy, opaque in just one coat but I used two like usual. She is a stainer though, so be prepared to use at least two coats of base to protect your nail and be careful with removal to avoid your skin.
OPI Fearlessly Alice

What's The Hatter With You? is a deep berry burgundy crème. This has a great formula, applies easily with full coverage in two coats. This isn't what I would call bright or summery, but it's still a nice staple color to have in your collection if you don't already have something similar.
OPI What's The Hatter With You?

I'm Gown For Anything! is a pale lilac leaning mauve crème. This gal was super opaque, it could be a one coater for some folks! I used two as I normally do. Maybe leans slightly thick, but pretty easy to manage.
OPI I'm Gown For Anything!

Having A Big Head Day is a flashy bright red crème. Another great formula, covers great in one coat but with full opacity in two. I personally don't need one more red crème so I was a little disappointed in this color selection for this type of collection, but you might love it!
OPI Having A Big Head Day

The I's Have It is a soft but bright powder blue crème. This one could run a tad streaky if you use a lot of pressure on application, but if you sort of float a generous coat over your nail, as I did, you can get full coverage in two coats. I don't understand the name of this polish and I don't know anyone else who does either, so if you know, would you tell me??
OPI The I's Have It

Mad For Madness Sake is a warm medium pink crème. This is bright but still kinda muted, and isn't very unique to the OPI family so this is another one I wasn't super excited to see in this collection. However, it does have a lovely formula and is opaque in two coats.
OPI Mad For Madness Sake

A Mirror Escape has a thin metallic gold base filled with chunky matte white microglitter pieces. Pretty easy to apply, opaque in three coats. I am not sure if this is intended to be a textured polish, but it dries with a good bit of it so you'll need a thick layer or two of topcoat to get it smooth. I don't care for this unfortunately, they seem to be coming out with one oddball shade in every collection they do lately. *shrug*
OPI A Mirror Escape

What Time Isn't It is being marketed as a "special edition" shade. It comes in a separate box with artwork from the movie on it. OPI describes this as a matte black with silver bar glitter. I found it to actually be a shiny grey crème, but the short silver bar glitter is definitely there. I think I am in the minority of those that enjoy bar glitters, so I like this polish but I don't know if it warrants an extra few dollars on its price tag compared with the other colors.
OPI What Time Isn't It

If you're interested in possible dupes for these colors, my friend Karen over at BeautyGeeks has a bunch of comparison photos on her review HERE. This collection is available now wherever OPI is sold, such as Ulta, Sally Beauty Supply, and professional salons, for $10 each. Special edition shade What Time Isn't It retails for $14.95.

What do you think of this collection? I do like all of the shades, save the gold which isn't my personal style, but I admit I was hoping for something a little more exciting for this collection. Especially considering how groundbreaking the first Alice collection was in 2009. What say you?

GlitterDaze The Marie Antoinette Collection Swatches & Review

Hi everyone! Sorry it's been a few days since my last post, it's been a bad month for headaches for me. I suffer from chronic daily headaches and migraines, and different factors like the weather and stress can make things much worse at times. I am feeling better this weekend so I'm back!

Today I have the newest GlitterDaze collection to show you! This is The Marie Antoinette collection, inspired by the infamous queen of France from back around the time before the French Revolution. There are six milky crellys with multichrome metallic flakes.

Chemise A La Reine has an off-white crelly base with multicolored metallic color shifting flakes and a sprinkle of holographic shimmer. This went on very easily and dried quickly. I was surprised at how opaque it was in only two coats. I recommend a top coat as these don't dry particularly shiny.
GlitterDaze Chemise A La Reine

Off With Their Heads has a greenish browny grey base with shifting metallic flakes that turn from gold to pink to bronze, red/bronze shimmer and gold holographic shimmer. This one had some chunkier pieces of flakes than the first one, but was no different in application. Two coats.
GlitterDaze Off With Their Heads

Versailles has a lovely mint green crelly base with shifting multichrome flakes in green and blue tones with some holographic shimmer. This also had an easy formula, opaque in two coats.
GlitterDaze Versailles

Reign of Terror has a mauve pinky purple crelly base with purple shifting flakes that turn blue, gold and magenta as well as holographic shimmer. I feel like a broken record, but this has the same wonderful formula. Two coats.
GlitterDaze Reign of Terror

Louis is a pale cornflower blue crelly with multichrome metallic flakes that flash purple to blue, silver shimmer and holographic sparkles. Same great formula, two coats for full opacity.
GlitterDaze Louis

Eat Cake has a crelly base in a peachy pink nude tone with color shifting metallic flakes in pink/green/gold and gold holographic shimmer. Also great, also two coats. The brand mentions that this polish may cause light staining, though I swatched this without a base coat and wore it for a good twenty minutes or so and didn't notice anything. But please heed their warning and use a good coat of base or two.
GlitterDaze Eat Cake

These colors are stunning and they fit right into what I think of for the fashion at the time of Marie's life. These polishes were just a pleasure to put on, no fuss and super easy to work with. Maybe they won't be everyone's cup of tea, but they are really beautiful in person and very sparkly, it was difficult to show that in the photos. The Marie Antoinette collection is available now on the GlitterDaze website for $12 each. Tell me what you think of these, any favorites? I think Chemise and Louis are tied for mine!

Cirque Colors The Metropolis Collection September 2015 Swatches & Review

Hi everyone! I hope the week is treating you well :) I have the three new shades from Cirque Colors for The Metropolis collection for September 2015 to show you today! They had a bit of a break in releasing new crème colors for this ongoing collection, as we haven't seen new ones since June, but they are back in action now! This month's colors might be my favorite yet, they are so good!

Deco is a lavender-grey crème. This one can kind of change colors in different lights, looking much more purple in some and way more grey in others, and kinda blue at times This was almost a one coater, very buttery and opaque in a nice thin, but not runny, consistency. I used two coats for full coverage. It also dries very shiny.
Cirque Colors Deco

Jane on Jane St is a chic rose-mauve crème. It has the same excellent formula, opaque in two coats with a shiny finish. Good golly, I am in love with this color!

Page Six is a dove grey crème. I am just amazed at the formulas on these, they are all so great they practically apply themselves. Two coats, dries very shiny.
Cirque Colors Page Six

You can purchase these shades and the rest of the colors in The Metropolis collection on the Cirque Colors website for $13 each. Be sure to check their list of stockists too! What do you think of these moody pale shades? I think they are great transitional colors for the start of a colder season!

China Glaze Fall 2015 The Great Outdoors Collection Swatches & Review

Hi everyone! The Fall collections have started rolling in and I've got another one for you today. This is The Great Outdoors by China Glaze! There are 12 polishes in this collection inspired by nature and the adventures of camping. I think this collection is a big hit so let's take a look at the lacquers!

Cabin Fever is a coppery orange to gold metallic duochrome. It's pretty brushstrokey, but that is to be expected with these types of polishes. It was nicely opaque in two coats. This is darker indoors, it looks more sheer in full sunlight as I've shown here.
China Glaze Cabin Fever

Change Your Altitude is a muted grey putty crème. This had an amazing formula, a bit on the thin side but pretty opaque. Two coats here. I love how this looks with my skintone, it's perfect for the chilly Fall weather!
China Glaze Change Your Altitude

Check Out The Silver Fox is a gunmetal silver foil. This one is more grey tinged than some of the silvers I've seen lately, but it's still kinda basic. Almost opaque on one coat, I used two here.
China Glaze Check Out The Silver Fox

Free Bear Hugs is an almost black oxblood red jelly crème. This was opaque in two coats, but could look patchy on two depending on your application. A little thick and thin at the same time, which was interesting. I did have staining on my cuticles with this, fyi.
China Glaze Free Bear Hugs

Gone Glamping is a gold to green duochrome with a slight edge of blue. There are also super teeny tiny blue shimmer bits which is very pretty, but almost indiscernible on the nail unless you look very close up. This one was the most sheer duochrome of the three in the collection. I like this but I wish it were more pigmented. This is three coats.
China Glaze Gone Glamping

Let's Dew It is a blue glitter in a clear base with iridescent flakes and purple & blue shimmer bits. I wore this in one coat over Sleeping Under the Stars, which you'll see further down in the post. This had pretty great coverage and the added shimmer and flakes make it look much denser when applied than I expected.
China Glaze Let's Dew It

My Lodge Or Yours? is a dusty pinky mauve crème. Great formula, like Change Your Altitude but a little more opaque. Two coats. When I first saw this I thought it was a dupe to Dress Me Up from the China Glaze Hunger Games collection, but that one is more flesh toned and a bit darker.
China Glaze My Lodge Or Yours?

Pondering is a blue to purple duochrome with an edge of green. This also has some brushstrokes, but like the other metallics, it's kind of a given. I used two coats here. It dries slightly satiny so use a top coat for full shine. This is my favorite of the duochromes.
China Glaze Pondering

Sleeping Under the Stars is a dusty purple toned blue with dark pink to gold slightly shifting shimmer. It was a little thick but easy to apply. This was opaque in one coat, but I did two per usual. It didn't change the look at all, so it's wearable at one. I love the shimmer in this one but it's not super noticeable on the nail in person. I didn't have any staining with this but I have heard it's possible.
China Glaze Sleeping Under the Stars

S'More Fun is a bright lemon lime crème. This was kinda thick but not as much as I was expecting it to be. I thought it was almost perfect at two coats, but I needed one more to even it out completely. This was surprising to me as I expected a not so great formula and it was pretty ok. I kinda love that they threw this odd vibrant shade in with the bunch!
China Glaze S'More Fun

Take A Hike is a hunter green crème that leans slightly in the teal direction. This was opaque in one coat, but I used two here. The second layer didn't add anything to it though so you can definitely just use one and still get a great finish. This had a thicker consistency, but in a good way. I love this!
China Glaze Take A Hike

Wood You Wanna? is a red toned brown with a flat silver foil effect to it. It is not chunky at all, very smooth and any brushstrokes I had melted away when it dried down. This is two coats but it's pretty opaque in one. Dries very fast.
China Glaze Wood You Wanna?

China Glaze polishes can be purchased from retailers like Ulta and Sally Beauty Supply as well as several online sellers. What do you think of this collection? I am very impressed with the formulas on these and the colors are just right for the upcoming season! I actually hate camping, but I wouldn't mind 'glamping' at #CampChinaGlaze!

OPI Nail Envy Strength In Color Collection Swatches & Review

Good day to you my friend! I hope your week is starting out well! Today I have some new products from OPI to show you. They have taken their popular nail treatment Nail Envy and added a twist by giving them color, calling them Strength In Color. This is a great idea for anyone who wants to have a strengthening protective treatment and polish color without an extra step. Let's see what shades they chose!

Bubble Bath is an iconic SoftShade from OPI, a soft delicate milky pink. I have the original version and I enjoy it very much. This is three coats for a more opaque look, but you can stop at two for a more natural take. I didn't use topcoat because it retains shine quite nicely.
OPI Nail Envy Bubble Bath

Next is Hawaiian Orchid, a creamy neutral pink mauve. I love that they chose this shade for inclusion in this collection, it's very popular and so wearable. Great formula, I only needed two coats for full opacity.
OPI Nail Envy Hawaiian Orchid

Pink To Envy is a new 'shade', a slightly pink tinted clear. The original Nail Envy is more milky so I get them wanting to make a clear version of it. You probably can't tell other than the shine, but I've got one coat on here.
OPI Nail Envy Pink To Envy

And last is Samoan Sand, another much favored SoftShade from OPI's core collection. This is a pale sandy beige. I actually can't believe I didn't have the original version of this, it's a great neutral! Three coats here. Dries a bit darker than it looks in the bottle.
OPI Nail Envy Samoan Sand

These new Nail Envy Strength In Color shades are available now at places like Ulta, JCPenney Salons and Sally Beauty Supply, retailing for $17.95 in the US and $22.50 in Canada. What do you think of this twist on a nail treatment? Do you use Nail Envy? I know lots of gals who swear by it!

Color Club Spring 2015 Shift Into Neutral Collection Swatches & Review

Greetings friends! I am doing really well today, in case you read my previous post about my sick kitty, he's doing much, much better! Yay for healthy fur babies! I have a collection from Color Club called Shift Into Neutral to show you today. It's a gathering of seven neutrals, that actually would be great for palette cleansers with all the neons that are coming out for this summer. I'll give you a hint now, I love them.

First is Barely There, a nudey beige crelly. Fabulous formula and opaque in two coats, which was surprising for this type of finish. This might be my new go-to nude shade!
Color Club Barely There Shift Into Neutral Collection

Blank Canvas is a squishy white crelly. It's not stark white, more on the soft marshmallowy side. It's not streaky, surprisingly, but I did need three coats for complete opacity. You could do two if you don't mind your nail line showing. I didn't really need another white polish, but I ended up liking this a lot and I'm glad I have it.
Color Club Blank Canvas Shift Into Neutral Collection

This gal is Blush Crush, a milky, very pale pink crelly. This is more jelly-ish than the others, making it more sheer. It was still looking a little streaky on three coats and you can definitely see my nail line, but it was getting a little thick so I didn't do another coat. This isn't my favorite.
Color Club Blush Crush Shift Into Neutral Collection

Next is Get a Mauve On It, a tan-ish muted mauve jelly crème. This is more of a brown toned mauve rather than a pink or purple like most I own. I think this is a great neutral. It reminds me of Zoya Bridgette but less pink. Great formula, great opacity, two coats.
Color Club Get a Mauve On It Shift Into Neutral Collection

Midnight Mulberry is a plummy dusty purple jelly crème. This is darker than I expected to see in a Spring collection, but it somehow fits in well. This also had a fabulous formula, I used two coats here.
Color Club Midnight Mulberry Shift Into Neutral Collection

And here we have New-tral, a soft dusty putty pink crème. This was a surprise favorite for me, a perfect girly fresh color. It's one of those pale shades that make me look really tan and ya gotta love that haha! Amazing coverage, almost a one coater. This is two. I can see myself wearing this a lot.
Color Club New-tral Shift Into Neutral Collection

Last we have Sweet Mint, my second favorite of the collection. It's a soft pale warm mint green with some hidden icy shimmer. I love this and it's actually different than any other green mint that I have in my collection which is awesome. This is two coats.
Color Club Sweet Mint Shift Into Neutral Collection

These are available on the Color Club website for $8.50 each. I also know they are stocked at some e-tailers like Head2ToeBeauty and HB Beauty Bar (though I have never ordered from HB). I really enjoyed this collection, it's a great gathering of soft work appropriate colors and there is only one I would skip (Blush Crush). What do you think of these gorgeous soft neutrals?

Have a great day loves!
