A Sin Worthy Party

Hey luvahs :) How you doin? I can't believe I didn't own this polish until very recently. Misa's A Sin Worth Committing is arguably their most famous lacquer, a glowy navy blue with shimmer that won't quit. This is freaking beautiful. I showed it to you the other day with the new Cult Nail's flakie layered but here is it on it's own. This is two coats.

I had to layer one of my new Nabi glitter polishes over this guy, called Party Mania Glitter. This is a new brand to me, I really like their selection and the bottle design! This has different colored hex glitters in big and medium sizes in a dark blue jelly base. This is two coats.

I got this Misa polish from Transdesign for $3.75 and the Nabi polish at their Ebay store, 3 for $8.95. The Nabi store shipped incredibly fast and it's a great deal. Check them out if you haven't before! Have a great one my dolls :)

Misa Precious Moments Collection

Helloooo guys and dolls! Today I'd like to show you Misa's latest offering for Spring, the Precious Moments collection. It's five pastels and a bright jelly, that equals Spring-forward in my book! The formulas on all these were a tad thick but very manageable. Save the jelly, they were all two coats.

First up is Someone Like You, a pinky beige cream. It's a delicate and subtly sexy polish. You know I love my nudes honey! It's also the same name as the Adele single that's been so popular lately, which is now stuck in my head haha.

Next is Deep Breath, a pale cream grey with very slight blue undertones. This is actually really pretty, albeit a bit plain jane.

This is Pinky Promise, a pale pink cream with a delicate purple tone. I'm not super impressed with this one. Purple toned pinks are one of my least favorite types of colors. Still, it is nicely feminine.

Little Hands is a mod mint green cream. Very opaque and bright. I have a bajillion mint polishes and this is probably not one of my top five, but I still like it. The name creeps me out. It makes me thing of doll hands, and dolls make my skin crawl a little haha.

And here is Sweet Thing, a pale lavender cream. Very sweet and very soft. Again, I have a lot of polishes like this but this one might be in my top five pale purples, because the formula is pretty on point.

Last is Bed of Roses, a bright posy pink squishy jelly. Now you know I la la love my pinks and my jellies so this is automatically one of my favorites. This is three coats and there is still visible nail line, but this type of color doesn't need to be opaque to make an impact.

I'm not the biggest fan of pastels, but honestly for Spring it's pretty much to be expected haha! I like a few of these more than I predicted, but overall it's not a ground-breaking group of shades. You can find these from MisaCosmetics.com for $7.50 each. What do you think of these y'all?

Random Swatches

I used to have a huge back log of swatches but I've gotten rid of most of them that I don't like or that I think I could improve on. These are what's left over from what I had. I need a camera that takes good macro photos indoors, or I just need to learn how, or I have to wait til I have the ambition to swatch during the sunlight hours. Otherwise I dislike my photos, and I won't post them. That's just the way it is I'm afraid *shrug*. Hope you don't mind.

This is Peachy Keen by Misa from the Hip to My Jive collection from this summer/fall. It's a shimmery sandy peach. It honestly doesn't look like much in the bottle but I love it on. This is two coats. I love Misa so hard.

Next is New Bohemian from Color Club's Back to Boho collection from this fall. It's blue/green turquoise "Tiffany" blue color that we've seen before but I still adore it! Perfect crème, two coats.

This is another Color Club polish from Back to Boho, Nomadic Nude. I really have a soft spot for neutrals and this putty greige is just so classic looking. This formula was a bit watery, but still covered well in three coats.

I will be trying to actively swatch in the sunlight whenever it is available from now on, so don't give up on me yet. I figure if you're still reading this, you don't mind when I post, just that I post at all eh? ...Maybe that's just wishful thinking on my part. ;)

Misa 'Hip To My Jive' Collection: Sneak Peek!

Revisit the ’50s With Misa Cosmetics’ Hip to my Jive Collection

Like, far-out, daddy-o! Misa Cosmetics’ fall collection, Hip to My Jive, will have you flipping out over shades that hearken back to the decade of old-school cool while ensuring that your nails remain of-the-moment. The ’50s brought us TV dinners, cruising in chrome-accented automobiles, and poodle skirts at the malt shop, but now they bring forth six retro-inspired hues that’ll knock your socks off!

Peachy Keen: You don’t have to be a square to appreciate the necessity of perfectly polished nails. This champagne-hued taupe is a flattering neutral that’ll go with everything in your closet, from full skirts to sweetheart sweaters. Take this shade from the office to after-hours—it’s guaranteed to make a soft, feminine statement.

Go for the Pinks: Thinking pink? Throw your hair into a ponytail and put on your girliest nail color. Perfect for going steady—or meeting the parents!—this muted but statement-making matte rose lends a girly-girl flair with an irresistible high-gloss finish.

Pop the Clutch: Nothing’s more liberating than grabbing the keys and taking a ride on the boulevard—except perhaps this rosy brown hue with a hint of iridescence. Put the top down, slide the key in the ignition, crank up the tunes, and tap out your favorite rock-and-roll beats on the steering wheel with perfectly polished nails.

Bop Till You Drop: Go ahead, stay out all night; this vibrant shade will ensure that your nails make a statement from early evening into the wee hours. One warning, though: This shimmering orangey coral will definitely outlast any partner you can find down at the dance hall.

Catch a Flick: Getting swept away in your favorite Hollywood plots at the drive-in is a perfect pastime, but you’ll want to keep your nails firmly rooted in reality. Just try to tear your eyes away from this cool mint green to watch the movie!

Got It Made in the Shade: Whether in the heat of an Indian summer or lounging as the leaves turn for autumn, this fall, make sure you’ve got nail color that’s laid-back yet oh-so-hip. Perfect for hanging with the greasers or dancing at the sock hop, this unique olive green will keep your nails cool—and hot—all season long.

About Misa Cosmetics
Misa offers more than 164 nail lacquers that provide the richest and most intense coverage possible in nail color. An exceptionally high concentration of pigment, as well as mica, in a professional-grade formulation ensures that Misa colors last and last without chipping, wearing or fading. And unlike many polishes that can thicken with age, Misa nail lacquers stay perfectly mixed for a smooth, streak-free and even finish—even years after first use.

Misa Cosmetics’ Technology
Misa continues to upgrade products, including the use of revolutionary nanotechnology. This nanotechnology helps Misa develop polishes that are smoother, resulting in a surface that allows light to reflect evenly. Nail polish performance is enhanced through ease of application and removal, high gloss, higher abrasion resistance and better stability. Better adhesion allows for longer-lasting results. Safety is also a prime objective; therefore, Misa no longer uses DBP, toluene or formaldehyde chemicals in any of its nail lacquers. A unique 230-strand polish brush fits in the hand—just right for a steady polishing job—while the elegant and sturdy base ensures the bottle won’t tip. Discriminating nail professionals and colorful people everywhere have requested Misa since 1996. Beyond seasonal collections, Misa offers an impressive array of frosts, sheers, French manicure and nail art colors for year-round indulgence.

I am loving these shades, although I am surprised to see them in a Fall collection! It will be a nice break up from the other dark and murky fall collections we've been seeing pop up. And the Misa formula never fails me so I can't wait!

Misa Wishes Collection

Misa came out with the Wishes collection this Spring, a seemingly typical pastel set of polishes. However, these have a special satin finish that mimics frosted glass. Very ethereal, they almost look matte but it's easily discernible that they're shiny. Très interesting. I blogged about a few of them previously but recently got the entire collection so I figured I'd review them as a whole.

Touch the Rainbow is the palest sky blue with white iridescent shimmer glaze. This is one of my favorites in the collection, super angelic. Two coats.
Whimsical Wish is a pale peach with pink iridescent shimmer glaze. I wasn't sure if I'd love this one but I ended up really liking how clean and fresh it makes my skin look. This is two coats.
Never Say Never has a bit more shimmer and almost a metallic grain look to the finish. It's a frosted glass granite grey color that is very striking while keeping in tone with the other demure colors. This is two coats.
Genie In this Bottle is a soft pinky lavender polish with a slight grey undertone and tiny flakes of red, but they're very subtle, almost undetectable. I love the pink shimmer in this one, super gorgeous. This is also two coats.
Fountain of Youth is a pale celadon green with silver shimmer. I love how spring worthy these colors are! They look like they could be colors of bridesmaid dresses *giggle* and I love it! Two coats here as well.
Last is Pixie Princess, a darker peach than Whimsical Wish with a more subtle pink shimmer. This is very pretty and even though I don't think it looks the best on me, it will definitely flatter some lighter and darker skin tones out there. Two coats here. I love the thickness of these polishes, just enough to get perfectly opaque in two coats.
What do you think of this collection? I think it's lovely to see such a different style of finish once in a while.

China Glaze Solar Power

It is the summer of yellow! This sunny butter polish is courtesy of China Glaze, from their Eco Collection of 2008. Solar Power is a core collection polish available at Sally Beauty but for some reason I had always passed it by. Well, being so on trend, of course haha, I decided to pick it up. Plus I wanted to see what Misa's Under My Sunbrella looked like over an opaque yellow. This is a crème with a slight bit of gold shimmer, more of a light dusting really. Very chic! I actually love this and can't believe I didn't pick it up sooner.
Here it is with Under My Sunbrella layered over it. Very pretty and super summer sassy wouldn't you say? This is definitely one of my favorite combos ever.
How are you liking the yellow trend this season? Is it not your thing or are you diving into it headfirst?

Misa Paradise Shore Collection

Ahh lovely Misa. You do not disappoint. Paradise Shore is made up of six bright summer shimmers with glitter, glass flecks, shimmer and even a bit of metallic glint. Very beachy and quite in tune with this season's trends.

Krystal Water is a turquoise shimmer with a gorgeous glaze of ocean blue. I wasn't expecting to love this as much as I did but I really think it sparkles and glows beautifully. This is two coats.
Endless Keys was another color I wasn't sure about just looking at it in the bottle, but on the nail it is spectacular. The crushed shimmer plates of gold in this juicy tangelo orange jelly look so radiant! This is also two coats.
Mega Margarita is a super icy looking green with tiny gold, green, and pink glitter that certainly remind me of it's cocktail namesake. Makes me thirsty just thinking about it! This one is totally a hit for summer, fantastic! Three coats here.
Summer Love is a bold fuschia pink with pink glass fleck glitter and a slight blue duochrome. This one is definitely close to China Glaze's 108 degrees but I think this one has a slight edge as it's not as sheer. Two coats here.
Mermaid Dreams is one I wore as a full manicure on a Saturday out shopping that I did not stop getting compliments on. Literally everywhere I went, someone commented on it. It's almost a foil metallic shimmer, a watery blue color that I imagine to be the color of a perfectly still lagoon. Three coats on this one, only because I did it in the car and the first two coats were janky.
Under My Sunbrella is so freaking fun. I really love it. I have been waiting for a fun yellow all summer. Well it's not even technically summer yet so I guess I haven't really been waiting haha. This is pretty warm, very buttery with tons of golden glitter. I think it would look nice layered too, but here is it on it's own. Two coats.
I've heard talk that this is super similar to another collection that came out this season, but oh well, a lot of collections come out every season that are similar in color families to each other, let's not dwell on that. I really love Misa's products because of their quality and performance. They last a long time on me and their formula is excellent. I personally love these lacquers A LOT and I think they are amazing summer colors. I hope you like them and that you enjoyed this review.

Misa Office Polish-tics

Here is Misa's darkest shade from their Spring 2011 collection 9 to 5. Office Polish-tics is a grayed out dark cadet blue. It reminds me slightly of Zoya's Kelly. I'll have to do a comparison between the two soon. This is two coats.

3 Misa Wishes

I decided to buy some of the Misa Wishes collection sight unseen. For a polish blogger, this is unheard of. Shows you just how much I love Misa ;) Turns out, I had no reason to worry, the colors I chose were beautiful, in typical Misa fashion.

The first is Never Say Never, and despite having the nasty habit of giving me a Justin Bieber earworm, makes me quite happy to look at. It's a shimmery granite grey whiteish color with a special finish. In fact, all the Wishes polishes have a unique finish that I've never seen before. It's not shiny but it's not matte, not quite satin either. It's like soft? Almost like frosted glass. It's very hard to describe. This is two coats, which for a pale color is really awesome.
Touch the Rainbow is a frosted glass blue ethereal polish. This one surprised me, as before I said, not knowing what to expect, the color is quite slight but still very present. It's a whisper of a tint, but the blue is still there. This is also two coats. These covered remarkably well.
Genie in this Bottle is by far my favorite out of the three I chose, an opalescent pinky purple shimmer floating in a frosted pale purple base, so angelic! This is also two coats. These polishes were a bit thicker but not hard to paint on or streaky, just thick enough to get opaque. Very nice!
What do you think? I love this understated Spring collection! So unexpected! I purchased these from www.head2toebeauty.com and they are also available on www.transdesign.com and www.misacosmetics.com now.

When You Wish Upon a Star…You Get the Ethereal Shades in Misa Cosmetics’ Wishes Collection

January 2011 – Philadelphia, PA. From Harry Potter to vampire drama, no one can resist a little fantasy in life, an escape from the everyday. Usually, going from the doldrums of reality to fantastical imaginings on cloud nine takes a little effort, but Misa Cosmetics makes the flight exceptionally easier with the Wishes Collection, six pie-in-the-sky hues that evoke otherworldly beauty with delicate shimmer and alluring iridescence. Thanks to these gorgeous shades—all satin matte with sparkling effect finishes—you’ll be ready to believe in magic again!

Spring 2011: Wishes Collection
Never Say Never: All you have to do is believe—in this frosted ice-princess silvery white, that is—and your nails will transform as you never thought possible. Never say never; just enjoy the cool effect of painting your nails the color of falling snow in moonlight.

Pixie Princess: Fairies are known for their playful, mischievous demeanors, and you won’t find a shade more naughty-but-nice than this soft beige with the subtlest sheen of glitter. It’s no folklore—this delicate hue instantly gets your nails ready to soar above the earth.

Touch the Rainbow: Like a sky after a rainstorm, this baby blue suggests a sense of peace, tranquility and calm. And, just as a rainbow shows off its spectrum of colors, this shade offers an ever-changing opalescent sheen that takes nails to unbelievable heights. Forget the pot of gold; grab this lacquer instead.

Fountain of Youth: We’d all love the ability to renounce the effects of aging, but this shimmering pastel will never grow old on your nails. With a hint of the sheerest springtime green, this polish makes any look brand-new again. Drink in the color and indulge in lasting longevity.

Genie in This Bottle: Do you dream of genies? Once you unleash the fairytale wish-granter from his magic lamp, you’ll never experience life in the same way again. But as you contemplate your three wishes, you might want to make one of them a request for this glittering lilac—it’s one wish that will never backfire!

Whimsical Wish: Blow out the candles, wish upon a star or toss a penny in the fountain. Whatever your method of securing your greatest desires, ensure that your nails are eminently wish-worthy with this pearl shade shot through with pink iridescent undertones.

Not sure if you can see from the picture, these colors have a satin matte with a twist of sparkles finish.

This second spring collex from Misa looks stunning! I'm so down with these pretty pastels!!

Misa Spark My Interest collection

Misa's winter 2010 collection "Spark My Interest" is all about the glitz and glamour of nightlife and romantic intrigue—because nighttime nails should never fade into the background. The six brilliant hues are saturated with shine, thanks to the thousands of glittering particles packed into each polish, guaranteeing that nails remain the center of attention. These were all two coats.

Glitz, Glamour, Smile for the Camera is a foil plummy magenta. This shade slid on like glimmering butter.
Spark My Heart, That's a Start is one I've shown you before, and one of the three polishes I'm giving away in my January Misa Giveaway! A zesty bright coral-pink shimmer stunner.
Date Nights to the Twilight is a royal purple foil. This one is really nice and although it's not my favorite, I'm sure will have a lot of fans. The name is a little weird though haha.
Pink Bling on my Ring is a really bright pink metallic shimmer. Very girly pretty and the formula is unbelievable.
Red Pumps at the Nordstrom is the other polish from this collection that I have a new bottle of as a prize for my newest giveaway. I've showed you this one before too, but it's so gorgeous, another picture can't hurt. Ruby red lit from within with a pink flash, oooh hot stuff!
Wink, Blink, Let's Get a Drink is a berry colored magenta with metallic shimmer. Like the others in this collection, this color went on amazingly smooth and easy.
This collection has some similar colors, but that insures that every skintone will find a color that looks great on them. All of them have fabulous coverage and amazing pigment. You can get Misa from www.misacosmetics.com or at e-tailers like Head2Toe or Transdesign.
