Fingerpaints Holiday 2014 Winter Wishes Collection Swatches & Review

Hi there! I wanted to show you a five piece holiday glitter collection from FingerPaints today, called Winter Wishes. These are very similar in composition and vary mostly in color so that's why you see them on one finger instead of a full mani per color. Let's take a look!

On my thumb is Glisten Here, a mix of greyed out pink, blue, green, gold and silver glitters. My pointer finger has Wrapped in Ribbon, a blingy gold. My middle finger is wearing Ho Ho Happy Holidays, a pale blue and silver mix. On my ring finger I have Sugar & Spice, a cheery red. And last, on my pinky is Silver Bells, an icy silver. They all have finely milled microglitter and all except the blue shade have tiny hex glitters.

All of these swatches show two coats plus top coat. They are nicely dense and could be worn alone or layered. I quite like them, though they're not necessarily unique. These are available in Sally Beauty stores now for around $5-6 each. What do you think of these glitters? Any catch your eye?

Love ya!

The Hungry Asian Spring 2014 Collection Swatches & Review

Hi everyone! Today I wanted to show you the new collection from The Hungry Asian for Spring 2014. It's a collection of 5 new polishes and a cuticle oil. The shades don't really have a theme but they remind me of easter so it's a perfect time for you to get them on your nails!

First up is Smooth Criminail, a shimmery pastel blue with small and medium purple, orange, blue, pink and teal hex glitters. This is so adorable, it reminds me of easter candy eggs. I really love the shimmer running through the blue. I used three thin coats here.

Next is Starstruck, a glitter mix in a clear base. The glitters are short holographic strings and pale pink mirrored circles. So unique and quite fun! I was surprised at how much I liked this! I layered two coats over China Glaze Lotus Begin.

Here is Peachy Keen, a peachy orange creme packed with bright glitters in hex, string, and round shapes in matte and shiny finishes. This one isn't my favorite with my skin tone unfortunately. This is two coats. There is a ton of glitter in this one so it's a tad thick which can make tricky to apply evenly.

This one is Lavender Cream, my babe! I am head over heels with this gorgeous pale purple with satin glitters in mint, pearl, pink, purple and green. Seriously love. This is three thin coats.

And last is Carpe Dayum (haha love the name!) a clear glitter topper with holographic and matte pink shreds with blue/green iridescent glitter bits. O_O Can I just say DAYUM! This polish is seriously crazy cool. I can't think of anything I have that is similar. I put two coats over China Glaze Peonies & Park Ave.

I had to show it to you in the shade too, so you can really see the smaller glitters and the glow they have. Ooh! I just love this!

And the last part of the collection is Kae's new cuticle oil. It comes free as a promotion if you spend $20+ (before tax and shipping) at her store. It's made of sweet almond oil, jojoba oil, grape seed oil and fragrance. I thought the White Gardenia scent would be too strong for me, because most scents are, but this one is actually very subtle and mild. I catch just a hint of it every now and then when I wear it and I think it's lovely. You know I am obsessed with my Bliss Kiss oil, but this one is quite nice and we can all use more cuticle oils in our life ;)

You can purchase these from The Hungry Asian Etsy store for $9.25 for a full size 15ml bottle and $4.50 for 5ml minis. All my readers can get 15% off a minimum purchase of $15 (before taxes and shipping) if you use the promo code KELLIE15 (active until May 7, 2014) Yay! What do you think of these spring pretties? Any catch your eye? I'll see you next time my dears!

OPI The Muppets Holiday 2011 - The Glitters

Here is the second half of The Muppets collection from OPI, which came out for the holiday season of 2011. I reviewed the first half of the collection yesterday in case you missed it.

Rainbow Connection is a multi-colored glitter polish with medium hex glitter and smaller round glitter. It was a very popular type of polish in the last year or so, after the success of Deborah Lippmann's Happy Birthday polish. This is just a great polish and I don't care how many dupes there are, I love it. It's one you want to place on the nail rather than paint on.

Excuse Moi is a unique one however, I can't think of any possible duplicates for this. It has a warm reddish pink jelly base with gallons of silver microglitter and smallish/medium round multicolored glitter pieces. Very cool and fun!

Gone Gonzo! was of course named after me! Ok...just kidding. It was actually named for that crazy adorable weirdo muppet, Gonzo. This has a clear base filled with pretty medium blue glitter and medium silver hex glitter. Pretty sheer.

Gettin' Miss Piggy With It! is the same type of polish as Gone Gonzo, a small glitter with larger hexes this time in a shade of ruby red. The hexes are silver and pinky red. Also rather sheer.

Fresh Frog of Bel Air is in the same realm as the previous two, this time in a medium green with silver hexes. Sh-sh-sheer.

Divine Swine is the last polish in the bunch, it is made up of warm purple glitter with silver hex glitter. Again, on the sheer side.

I enjoyed this collection, but would've preferred them do one glitter like Gone Gonzo! and maybe done more colors of polish in the style of Excuse Moi, which is the standout winner in this group.

I always say better late than never and hope you aren't too cross with me for posting this collection so late. I love OPI and I love the Muppets and I would've kicked myself forever if I never reviewed these as I intended. 2011 and a lot of last year were tough ones for me but I'm doing well now and what better way to take advantage of it than to blog my buns off!
