Nfu Oh - #63

Everyone I know that loves polish loves holographic polish. And I am no exception. I ADORE holo lacquers! They were super en vogue a while ago and had a big resurgence with the indie community making their own versions to sell online, even though they've been around for a long time. Remember Sally Hansen's Magical Nail Makeup line? Nfu Oh is one of those brands that has been doing holo polish right forever. They are made out of France and their bottles are so gorgeous, just to die for. They are shaped like a dress, with a corset handle and a skirt glass bottom.

The Nfu Oh polish I have to show you today is #63, a fabulous pale pink with a crazy linear holo. These give off an impressive rainbow flash and apply easily. Some holos have trouble going on the nail unless you use a special base coat, but I didn't have any trouble using this with my regular one. This is two coats in full sunlight, no top coat.

Do you own any Nfu Oh polishes? I need to get more haha, I only have two and they were both presents! (Thanks girl :-*) I believe you can find them on Ebay from time to time, and you can order from FabulouStreet for $12.50. I heard a long time ago they were having credit card issues, but I haven't heard anything negative about the site since then. Anyone order from them recently? Have a great week kittens!

Guest Post by Kiss My Acetone: Nfu-Oh 51

Please enjoy this guest post by my lovely friend Dori from Kiss My Acetone (best nail blog name ever!)
Morning, everyone! I cannot even tell you how thrilled I am to be a guest blogger here on Also Known As...! I've been obsessed with and stalking Kellie's blog for way longer than I care to admit. When she asked me to guest blog I racked my brain trying to think about what would be special and unique enough to share with her readers and followers. I decided to go with an oldie but a goodie, one of my all time favorite polishes, Nfu Oh 51.

Nfu Oh 51 is a red based purple jelly chock full of multi-chromatic flakies. The flakies in the polish are seriously amazing! They change from hot pink, to redish-orange, even to green and blue on the outer edges and when viewed at extreme angles. The multi-chrome effect of the flakies is more extreme in the bottle than it is on the actual nail but it's still so pretty and sparkly on the nail, I'm not complaining. And to top it off, Nfu Oh polishes have some of the cutest bottles around. See the corset with the heart shaped top and the ball gown skirt!? Way too freakin cute for words.

Thanks so much to my darling Kellie for letting me be featured on her blog and to all of you out there for reading!

It was actually Dori's idea to have a guest blog series while I let my nails rebuild a little, and of course offered herself as one of them :) I really can't tell you how much I love this lady, she's beautiful, fun loving, happy, and just an all around sweetheart. I adore her for showing an Nfu-Oh polish, as I haven't shared this brand with my readers yet. Thank you darling!

Guest Post by Colour Coated: Fish Scale Nails

Please enjoy this guest post by my friend Jasmine from Colour Coated!
Hey Peeps!
First off I have to say that I'm beyond excited to be doing this guest post for Kellie! I'm pretty sure that I've spent hours drooling over pictures of her gorgeous nails, so I felt totally honored (and a little nervous...ok, a lot nervous) when she asked me to do it.
After spending time debating with myself about what I'd choose to post, I decided to do something fun and colorful. I'm severely limited when it comes to doing nail art, but my nifty little dotting tool is like a magic wand that makes it look like I have a little bit of skill, so I decided to bust it out.
My inspiration was a book that I read in elementary school called The Rainbow Fish. I was always obsessed with the cover of the book because the fish on it has some awesome holo/glitter scales. Check it out:
To try to recreate the look of the rainbow fish I painted my nails with 2 coats of Orly Snowcone, then I dotted on OPI Jade is The New Black, NOPI Midnight Snowfall, Jesse's Girl Wild Thing, Zoya Breezi, and Nfu Oh 61 (for the holo scales of course!). Peep it:

So what do you guys think? Do you see the resemblance?
I hope you guys like this mani, and a million thanks to Kellie for being so lovely and letting me share it with all of you! :)

I love this dainty dotty nail art! I fail at most nail art but this looks like something even I could pull off! Thanks so much for sharing Jasmine!
