Nine Zero Lacquer Holiday 2016 Collection Swatches & Review

I'm back again today with another holiday collection for you, this time from indie brand Nine Zero Lacquer! In case you don't know, this brand was created a little over a year ago by Jessface90, a long time YouTuber. She makes videos about, you guessed it, nail polish! I love that her brand is so creative and has excellent formulas, because this gal really knows her stuff when it comes to the polish game. Let's take a look at what she has cooked up for the 2016 holiday season!

Sugar Cookie is a white crelly with red and green metallic shredded glitter and gold holographic glitter. This is super densely packed with those glitter pieces, but that doesn't make it difficult to apply which is nice. I got great coverage in just two coats. Some of the flakie bits can stick up a bit so you'll want a thick top coat.
Nine Zero Lacquer Sugar Cookie

Pink Christmas is a full coverage pink microflake polish with a gold flash and added holographic effect. I didn't realize this was made up of the microflakes at first, I thought it might just be a metallic shimmery holo, but they're there all right! Excellent formula, opaque in two coats. Super shiny!
Nine Zero Lacquer Pink Christmas

Balsam is a light pine green holographic with tiny gold flakes. Gorgeous green polish, and I can always use more of those! Nice strong holo flame too. This is two effortless coats.
Nine Zero Lacquer Balsam

Golden Lights has a gold holographic base filled with semi-transparent rainbow glitter hexes. This is a gold version of Twinkle Lights from their 2015 holiday collection. (Which is also still available on their website, fyi!) I used three coats here. You could also layer it over an opaque base color for a different look.
Nine Zero Lacquer Golden Lights

Frost has a vibrant teal jelly base filled with silver holographic microflakes. Lovely shade, and we all know I am head over heels with holo flakes these days! Great formula, a tad sheer but builds up in three coats. Dries a bit dull so I suggest a shiny top coat.
Nine Zero Lacquer Frost

Midnight has a deep purple jelly base full to the brim with silver holographic microglitter. This one was just a tad runny, so make sure not to overload your brush. I used two thick coats but you could also do three thinner layers. Another one that has a glitter texture so you'll want a thick top coat for a smooth finish.
Nine Zero Lacquer Midnight

Stuffed (crelly) is a reboot of Stuffed from the 2015 Thanksgiving collection. Not part of the Holiday collection, but I had to show it off. It has an off white crelly base filled with gold holographic microglitter, and red, orange, garnet, copper, and brown glitters. Packed with glitter and a touch thick, but pretty easy to apply. Two coats here. I recommend a thick top coat for this one because it dries a little textured from the glitter.
Nine Zero Lacquer Stuffed (crelly)

This collection along with Stuffed is available now on the Nine Zero Lacquer website. They are $9-$11 each. All six shades from the Holiday collection can be purchased together for $58. There are also a few polishes available from last year's holiday collection up for sale too. I'm a huge Nine Zero fan and I can't say enough good things about them, but this collection kinda knocked my socks off! Let me know what you think about these!

Hey there, it's a new month, so comes a new Polish of the Month from Nine Zero Lacquer! This indie brand has been releasing a new polish each month this year to be a part of their 2016: A Year In Review collection.

December 2017 is a baby blue holographic with holographic silver microglitter. Lovely formula, glides on easily and covers the nail well. This is two coats. Dries a touch dull so use a top coat for a shiny finish.

This polish can be purchased on the Nine Zero Lacquer website for $11. Let me know how you like this shade! What have you thought of the 2016: A Year In Review collection? I've reviewed all 12 and have loved seeing what comes out each month. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone who is celebrating today! I'm ready to get my gobble on, haha ;) Today I have the polish of the month from Nine Zero Lacquer to show you. This guy came to me just a few days ago so I am glad to be able to show it to you before the month is over! November 2016 is a bright pink holographic with holographic silver microglitter.

Excellent formula, easy to apply and no fuss. Dries down dull so you'll want a top coat for shine. This is two coats.

This polish is available on the Nine Zero Lacquer website now for $11. Their new holiday collection is up for pre-order right now too, I should have my swatches & review of them up soon. Let me know what you think about this month's polish! What has been your favorite so far? Any guesses as to what shade we'll get in December?? I have it already, muahaha!

The Holo Hookup November 2016 Swatches & Review

The Holo Hookup is flying into our hearts again for another collaboration box! The November quartet is inspired by beautiful, colorful birds, themed as "Birds Of A Feather". The box always features unique, exclusive polishes from indie brands Cupcake Polish, DIFFERENT dimension and Glisten & Glow, with a fourth shade from a special guest brand. This month they are joined by Nine Zero Lacquer.
color inspiration

Cupcake Polish Flamingo is a bright orangey pink linear holographic. The first adjective I could think of when I first saw this was juicy! Can lean more orange in different lighting. Excellent formula, two coats for full opacity.
Cupcake Polish Flamingo

Glisten & Glow Purple Grenadier is a medium purple linear holographic with added shimmers and cherry red galaxy glitters. I found this to have a creamier formula than the others, a little thin but not difficult to apply. This is two coats. The red glitters really shine in person, giving this a unique pop.
Glisten & Glow Purple Grenadier

DIFFERENT dimension Pygmy Kingfisher is a stunning gold linear holographic with a chrome red/orange/yellow multichrome effect. You have to see this to believe it, it's breathtaking! A touch thicker than the others, two coats here.
DIFFERENT dimension Pygmy Kingfisher

Nine Zero Lacquer Masked Flowerpiercer is a cerulean blue linear holographic. I've been fortunate to know the Nine Zero brand from their beginnings, they are a great brand. This applied effortlessly and covered in two coats, with slight brushstrokes.
Nine Zero Lacquer Masked Flowerpiercer

The November box pre-order is open from Friday, October 21 9PM EDT through Friday, October 28 9PM EDT on The Holo Hookup website. The cost for the box is $40 plus shipping, domestic and international. I hope you enjoyed seeing these swatches, I really loved the colors this round. What do you think?

Nine Zero Lacquer October 2016 Polish of the Month + Halloween 2016 Collection Swatches & Review

Hello friends! I've got the latest Polish of the Month from Nine Zero Lacquer to show you today, along with their six piece Halloween collection. Nine Zero just passed their year anniversary, so join me in congratulating maker Jess's success! I've been incredibly impressed with her polishes since she started and I know her dedication to creativity and quality will only continue. Cheers!

October 2016 is a light nudey brown linear holographic with added holographic silver microglitter. This formula was great, a breeze to paint with. This is two coats. It dries a bit dull so you'll want a glossy top coat for shine. If you want to check out all the 2016: A Year in Review colors that I've reviewed, click here!
Nine Zero Lacquer October 2016

And now for the Halloween shades!

Tricks No Treats is a white crelly with shredded glitter in metallic orange, green, and purple. This applied really nicely, nice and opaque. I found it required no manipulation of the glitters to get them to lay nicely, just don't put too much pressure on your brush or you may push them off the nail. This is two coats.
Nine Zero Lacquer Tricks No Treats

The Witching Hour is an orange, purple, green and black microglitter. This was a bit stingy on the first coat so you can definitely layer this. I built it up in three coats. It of course was a bit chunky but if you wait for it to dry down a bit between coats it layers easier. Dries gritty like glitters do, so use a layer of thick top coat or two for a smoother finish.
Nine Zero Lacquer The Witching Hour

Spooky Lights has a silver holographic base with orange, purple, green, and black hex glitters. Lovely application, a bit sheer on the first layer, builds up in three coats. This is the third variation of this type of polish that Nine Zero has done, the first was in the Holiday 2015 collection and the second was limited edition for July 4th this year.
Nine Zero Lacquer Spooky Lights

Jack-O-Lantern Juice is a pumpkin orange crelly with black shredded glitter. Nice formula, easy and covers in two coats. This reminds me of the tunic Fred Flintstone wears haha.
Nine Zero Lacquer Jack-O-Lantern Juice

Black Cat Optional has a clear base with silver holographic microglitter punctuated with medium black hexes, large orange hexes, and white circle glitters. This has the same as Witching Hour but doesn't get quite as opaque, as you can see tiny bits of my nail in some spots. Another one you could layer over an opaque base color for another look if you want.
Nine Zero Lacquer Black Cat Optional

Cauldron Fire has a black jelly base filled with orange holographic microglitter. The formula is excellent, no issues and full opacity at two coats. This is the epitome of a Halloween polish and I am head over broom for it!
Nine Zero Lacquer Cauldron Fire

The polish of the month is available now on the Nine Zero Lacquer website for $11. The Halloween collection is available for pre-order through tomorrow 10/5 at 11:59 EST, priced at $54 as a set and $9-$11 individually. After the pre-orders ship, then they will be available for regular purchase. I noticed last year's Swamp Thing is also available for pre-order for $10, I loved that one! Let me know what you think about these new colors :)

Nine Zero Lacquer The Men of Letters Collection + Polish of the Month Swatches & Review

Hey there lacquer enthusiast! Today I have a bunch of new polishes from indie brand Nine Zero Lacquer to show you! Their fall collection is inspired by the tv show Supernatural and is called The Men of Letters collection. I don't watch the show, even though Jensen Ackles is in it and he's a perfect human specimen and is a gift to our world, haha. And I also have the polish of the month shades for August and September stuck in at the end. Let's get to lookin!

The Colt is a dark grey with red shimmer. Super opaque, a one coater but I used two here. Dries dull, in fact all of these do, but a layer of top coat brings out the shine of course. They all also dry really fast!
Nine Zero Lacquer The Colt

Stolen Grace is an ice blue holographic. This is a bit thin but pretty nice to apply. Goes on a little brushstrokey, the formula is almost on the frosty side but not quite. This is three coats, but you might be able to get away with just two.
Nine Zero Lacquer Stolen Grace

Purgatory is a light grey/brown/purple shifting holographic. Same formula as Stolen Grace. I like this color a lot, it's unexpected! Three coats, but again you may only need two.
Nine Zero Lacquer Purgatory

Lucifer's Cage is a medium dusty blue holographic. Has a great formula, still thin but a breeze to apply. Two coats for this guy.
Nine Zero Lacquer Lucifer's Cage

Wayward Son is a medium dusty moss green holographic. This has the same formula as Lucifer's Cage, I used two coats here too.
Nine Zero Lacquer Wayward Son

Moose is a chocolate brown holographic. The holo particles are bigger in this one, and it practically applied itself! Great opacity, two coats. I looooove brown holos, this is stunning.
Nine Zero Lacquer Moose

Croatoan is a dark, rusty red holographic. Same formula as Moose, two coats for this one as well. I am dazzled by these extra sparkly holos, more please Jess!
Nine Zero Lacquer Croatoan

Holy Fire is a golden bronze full coverage flakie polish with added holographic sparkle. Excellent application and reaches full opacity on two coats. Dries down flat, not gritty. Super gorgeous!
Nine Zero Lacquer Holy Fire

Angel Blade is a bright silver metallic holographic with silver flakies. I thought this would be the same formula as Holy Fire, but this has a colored base and Holy Fire doesn't. Still has a great formula, looks like it has brushstrokes when first applied but they disappear upon dry down. Two coats. This is seriously epic and you need it.
Nine Zero Lacquer Angel Blade

The King of Hell is a fiery red metallic with a flash of gold. This applied really well considering how metallic it is. A tad brushstrokey but they aren't as apparent in person as they look in the swatch. Two coats for this gentleman.
Nine Zero Lacquer The King of Hell

Singer Auto Salvage has a murky greeny brown jelly base with gold holographic microglitter. Great formula, opaque on two coats. Dries gritty as most glitters do so use a thick top coat. Seems more yellow/brown in person, this one was tricky to capture. Of course I love this!
Nine Zero Lacquer Singer Auto Salvage

Baby has a black jelly base with silver holographic microglitter. Same formula as Singer Auto Salvage but more opaque, two coats here. Very blingy!
Nine Zero Lacquer Baby

So ends the Men of Letters collection, next are the new "polish of the month" colors!

August 2016 a yellow-green holographic with holographic silver microglitter. Excellent formula, like all of the other polish of the month shades. Two coats
Nine Zero Lacquer August 2016

September 2016 a black holographic with holographic silver microglitter. Same formula as August, applies like butter and is opaque in two coats.
Nine Zero Lacquer September 2016

These polishes will be available for pre-order on Friday, August 26 at 11am EST on the Nine Zero website. The pre-order goes for a week, through Friday, September 2 at 11:59pm EST, with shipping starting September 6th. Prices very from $9 to $11 each, or purchase the full collection for $120 and save $6. August 2016 is available now for $11. September 2016 would normally go on sale in September, but she's releasing it the same day as the Men of Letters collection, also for $11. Be sure to let me know what you think of these shades! Are you a Supernatural fan??

Nine Zero Lacquer The Accent Glitters Collection Swatches & Review

Good day to you, dear friend! I have the latest collection from indie brand Nine Zero Lacquer to show you today. This set of eight glitter polishes are coined as accent glitters, meant to be "simple but effective tools to add something extra to any manicure. Use as a full manicure or as single accent nail for a punch of holographic sparkle." They would also be great for use in nail art.

These all had pretty much the same formula, they seemed sparse on the first layer, but built up nicely in three coats. You might see a spot here or there that's not covered but they're so blingy and rainbow-rific that you really can't tell in real life. You could also sponge these on for a completely opaque look. They dry like microglitters so you'll want a thick top coat. My favorite for glitters lately is Girly Bits Glitter Glaze.

Diamond is a silver holographic microglitter in a clear base.
Nine Zero Lacquer Diamond

Sapphire is a rich blue holographic microglitter in a clear base.
Nine Zero Lacquer Sapphire

Rose Quartz is a pale rose pink holographic microglitter in a clear base.
Nine Zero Lacquer Rose Quartz

Emerald is a deep teal green holographic microglitter in a clear base.
Nine Zero Lacquer Emerald

Amethyst is a light purple holographic microglitter in a clear base.
Nine Zero Lacquer Amethyst

Ruby is a pinky red holographic microglitter in a clear base.
Nine Zero Lacquer Ruby

Citrine is a yellowy green holographic microglitter in a clear base.
Nine Zero Lacquer Citrine

Onyx is a black holographic microglitter in a clear base.
Nine Zero Lacquer Onyx

These polishes are available on the Nine Zero Lacquer website now for $10 each, or you can buy the set of eight for $75. They are really beautiful and crazy blingy! My friend Valesha of Peachy Polish has some great macro shots of these on her blog you should look at! My favorite is Onyx but I enjoyed them all. Let me know what you think of these! Would you wear them as an accent nail or a full mani??

Nine Zero Lacquer July 2016 and Flakie All The Things Swatches & Review

Happy Sunday friends! Today I have two new polishes from indie brand Nine Zero Lacquer, YouTuber Jessface90's brand, just in case you didn't know. The July Polish of the Month and a new layering topper are coming at ya!

July 2016 is a warm gold holographic with holographic silver microglitter mixed in to make it pop. This is in the style of their other POTM shades, and I love it! I can't wait to see next month's shade! This was easy to apply, but a little thick. I used two coats here. It dries dull so you'll want a top coat for shine.
Nine Zero Lacquer July 2016

Flakie All The Things!! is a holographic micro flakie top coat. Adding a layer of this polish over any color will give a terrific scattered holographic effect! I applied one coat over a black crème and was very impressed by the density of the flakies on just one layer. I can see getting a lot of use out of this!
Nine Zero Lacquer Flakie All The Things!!

These are available now on the Nine Zero Lacquer website. July 2016 is $11 and Flakie is $9. What do you think of these two new polishes?

Nine Zero Lacquer LE Independence Day Polish Swatch & Review

Happy 4th of July to all my American readers! I wanted to show you a limited edition polish from indie brand Nine Zero Lacquer inspired by the holiday, called Patriot!

Patriot has a holographic silver base with semi transparent red and blue glitters. Similar to their Christmas polish Twinkle Lights. This applied easily and covers fully in three coats. It's crazy holographic in the sun! The base dries down a bit smaller than the glitters, so you'll want a thick layer of topcoat to smooth it out. This is available now on the Nine Zero Lacquer website for $11. And if you hurry, you can get 20% off on their site through today using the code FREEDOM.

I hope your weekend has been great, whether you're celebrating Independence Day or not. I have been having a great weekend, going to the movies, hanging out with family and friends, even a trip to the lake and barbecuing! What have you been doing? I have more new Nine Zero Lacquer shades coming soon, so stay tuned!

Nine Zero Lacquer June 2016 + Valley Isle Collection Swatches & Review

Hey kids! I'm excited to show off some new polish shades from indie Nine Zero Lacquer for you today! I've been loving everything they've come out with, I almost can't believe they're less than a year old, because the quality of their products is SO great! I think it helps that the brains behind the brand, Jess, is a content creator on YouTube, she's been reviewing nail polish for years so she knows her stuff! I have the new Polish of the Month shade (a new one is created for each month of this year, see the previous shades here) and the upcoming Valley Isle four piece collection inspired by Jess's recent trip to Maui!

June 2016 is a light purple linear holographic with added holographic silver microglitter. Like all of her previous polish of the month shades, this applied easily and covered in two coats. My birthday is in June so I was hoping to really love this shade...and I do! So beautiful!
Nine Zero Lacquer June 2016

Now for the Valley Isle collection shades! Volcanic has a rusty red base filled with copper and bronze flake shimmer. The sparkle bits in this almost remind me of glass flecks, they are SO blingy! Much more so than a photo can convey. Amazing formula, smooth and opaque in two coats.
Nine Zero Lacquer Volcanic

Coconut has a custard cream colored base filled with gold flake shimmer. I found this a little thick and draggy, I needed to wait for it to dry well between coats or else it would pull up on itself. This is three coats.
Nine Zero Lacquer Coconut

Trade Winds is a light blue jelly with blue shimmer, color-shifting flakies, gold flake shimmer and holographic micro shard glitter. Sheerish on one coat, because of the jelly-ness, but it builds up nicely without getting thick. I used three coats for full opacity. This has that skunky sort of smell to it that you get with some blue polishes, not a big deal but something to mention.
Nine Zero Lacquer Trade Winds

Black Cove has a black jelly base with silver holographic micro shard glitter and what looks like teeny tiny bits of holo. Sheer on the first coat, but surprisingly this got opaque in just two layers. Dries dull and a tiny bit bumpy, so you'll want a thick top coat for shine and smoothness. It surprises me how much I liked this, the holo stands out really nicely!
Nine Zero Lacquer Black Cove

The polish of the month color is already available on the Nine Zero Lacquer website for $11. The Valley Isle collection will be up on the website for pre-order on June 3rd at 11am EST through June 8th at 11:59pm EST. I believe they will be stocked for regular purchase once the pre-orders have gone out. Are you interested any of the colors I showed you today? I love these small collections with fun inspirations, I hope to see more of them from Jess!
