pedicures galore

i finally got a foot bath!! yayay now i can feel pampered and will never have to pay for a pedicure again cuz i can do it myself at home! i got this baby at Ulta cuz it was on sale for $9.99, and i haven't found one for under $25 so i snatched it right up. BONUS it also came with a battery powered manicure set like pros use so it was pretty much a dream come true. it's super fun and i had a great time using it. i got some foot soak at sally beauty for like $3 and i was in bubbly heaven! the manicure set was way easy and fun to use too. i used to be a dental assistant and it is EXACTLY like the instruments we used to use to polish teeth and make/polish temporary crowns and bridges so it was a cinch :D. wayyyyy fun times!

this is a pedicure i did last week, sinful colors cha cha red. super cutie reddish pink. i loved it and it was the first sinful colors polishes i had purchased. easy to find at any walgreens and cheap, $2!second pedi picture, this is one i did yesterday after using the battery powered set on my tootsies, to buff and polish and stuff :) they are much shorter and buffed to remove the ridges. the color is essie sexy divide with nyx purple avenue flaky polish over. it is supposed to look like one of nfu-oh's polishes. oooh i liiike this!

yoga-ta get this blue pedi

warning!

these are toe pictures (if you didn't get the hint from the title) and i know some people are "sensitive" about toes. so don't look if you don't like toes mmmkay. plus they aren't super beautiful. even tho these pictures are taken RIGHT FREAKING AFTER I GOT A PEDICURE!!! tsk tsk dude i swear i do a better job than other people do even when they are at a significant better angle than is physically possible for me to be and have professional or professional-in-the-making status. the girl was super nice and the place i went was really relaxing and probably the best experience i've had since i've lived in utah county (almost three years) but i guess no one will live up to my own expectations huh. and if you don't know what i'm b*tching about, i kinda blurred the photo slightly cuz i was so embarrassed of my ragged flaky cuticles and stuff.

this is yoga-ta get this blue by opi--my own, because they didn't have any acceptable, i.e. clean and non-dried up or pretty polishes to choose from.

french mani and red pedi

buenos noches blogger land!

i have not done a free hand french in forever, mostly because i'm not very good at it and i'm a perfectionist. so when i stare at my fingers all day and see the mistakes, i end up just taking it off. and a good french deserves more than a day of wear i think, am i right?! haha, anyway my nails have grown pretty well so i decided to give it a go. i went with the natural smile line and used essie blanc for the white, then fixed the line with a regular chisel art brush and acetone. which should make the line just about perfect, but nay it is not. oh well! i covered it with china glaze love letters, should've done two or three coats, but i ended up rushing so i could only do one and a quick seche vite top. i ended up with bubbles cuz i didn't thin my seche before :( and i couldn't tell at first, but the yellow of my beds is really personified. EW!! no bueno.

but a trip to ulta on friday resulted in FINALLY finding nail tek's foundation II ridge filler/base coat (which i've had a lemming for forever, mostly from mary's blog "body and soul") so i used it to mattify the french. which helped a little. anyway, never one to leave well enough alone...i had also purchased an ulta glitter polish (they were on sale for $2, regularly $5) called after party, a red and silver glitter, so i put that on top. i also threw on rush topcoat to make it super super shiny. i went the third day with a glitter french. so *phew* i think three days is a good run no? haha :)

*shiny**matte**glitter*

also my sister decided to paint my toesies since i always paint hers while she was over the other day, so here's her work! revlon's cherries in the snow :) super cuuuute!

strobe light pedi

i was visiting my relatives in nevada (where i'm originally from) this weekend and we all seemed to have glittery pedicures. it was pretty cool haha, as it was prime sandal weather and super sunny. the girls there had all gotten glitter toes (with gel overlay) done and i had just used sally hansen's xtreme wear glitter polish in strobe light, but it looked about the same consistency. we were visiting for my cousin Daniale's baby shower and i couldn't resist including a pic of her cute belly! (even though pregnancy freaks me out a bit hehe)

i love this polish and got a ton of compliments on it. this is 3 coats with seche vite on the top so it wouldn't be scratchy.

new notd's

'ello mateys! so i am on an official no buy binge starting yesterday :( cuz this chick is getting outta hand. i'm a poor college kid and this buy every nail polish in sight thing is getting seriously craaaazy. anyway, before i pledged this, i picked up opi's matte alpine snow and matte la paz-itively hot and ordered sephora's glittery blue shade that is similar to essie's starry starry night (which hasn't come yet). anyway, i haven't mastered the technique to the matte shades yet cuz LPH was super hard for me to get right and was all chunky so i sloughed it all off and tried alpine snow. (which is why you see some residual pink around my cuticles, ewww)so that lasted for about a day, then i got bored of it, even though it is prettier than i figured it would be and i didn't have any chip issues even tho it is sans base and top coats, i put on a few layers of Nucolor NC2 Pear Hug, which is a super shimmery frosty light green shade. super cute, but i had some streaky issues.the pedi i've been rocking for the last week or so has been solid essie flirty fuchsia, but i decided to shake it up a bit and make it a funky french. i bought the matte alpine snow mainly as a way to do better french manicures because they are supposed to dry faster. and in that it's already an investment well worth it right?! because it did dry super quck and didn't chip at all :)
remember to click on the pics to make them bigger!

quick toe look

i slapped on some china glaze for audrey the other day for a quick pedicure and decided to jazz it up after i put the glitter over my nars manicure. i tried to do some white polka dots at the top but it was late and i was failing so i did kind of a fading silver glitter tip look thing. the glitter polish is from GAP, picked up about a million years ago. looks pretty when i stare down at my feet. <3

nude & holo notd's

the nail look i put on my tips this evening was one of my favorite nudes in existence. OPI's Skinny Dippin' in Lake Michigan from the chicago collection. it's a pure nude with sparkles. LOVES it! i actually ran out of my first bottle and saw this in a discount bin at beauty express or trade secret or something like that and had to snatch it up. and i do believe it is the very first time i have EVER repurchased a nail polish color specifically. it's very work appropriate and just lovely. it's nothing super exciting but if you're looking for a nude with a little something extra, this is your guy!

the next look is gonna be for my tootsies and yes, you'll get to see all ten little piggies. i used china glaze 2Nite, which is a bright blue holographic sparkly thing. very pretty. i tried it on my tips when i first bought it a few weeks ago, but used a top coat and it severly diminished the holo effect so i ended up removing it. i just used a clear base coat this time on the toes and no top coat but had to use my trusty drying drops of course. please don't mind the toe separators :)

notd's

the fingernail look i went for today (technically this evening) was OPI you don't know jacques from the france collection. when i first saw this shade in the bottle and even on the plastic nail example at trade secret i was like, eww who would ever wear that?! but then, as i am an avid beauty blog reader, i saw many swatches of the color on multiple ladies' fingers and fell head over heels in lemming lust. i got it at a taylor maid beauty supply for about $3 cheaper than at the mall so how could i resist? it is a lovely creamy dark grey/taupe with kind of a mud appearance. i love it! two coats over double duty base, out the door top and drip dry.
my toes are painted with the N.Y.C. color camoflauge from Target although i think you can buy this brand anywhere, like walmart or whatev. i am reluctant to show you my toes at all, even though i think i actually have cute feet compared to most of the modern world but putting them on the internet in close up detail is a different thing altogether. so here is all you get (i'm sure you're devastated), two coats in a beautiful rich green called camoflauge, beauty secrets ridge filler from sally beauty, out the door top coat, opi drip dry oil.
