Pretty Serious Cosmetics Pastel Pet Names Collection Swatches & Review

Oh my, it's Monday again. I thought I'd try to brighten your day by sharing some fun, happy polishes with you! Australian indie brand Pretty Serious Cosmetics has a new installment in their Well Meaning But Ultimately Quite Awkward Pet Names collection, this time a set of six pastel crèmes.

Little Duckling is a sweet yellow pastel crème. This formula was a tiny bit streaky, but that is to be expected with a pale yellow. I used three coats here. It did apply better than I thought it would, pastels are notoriously difficult to work with but this was pretty average.

Fluffykins is a bubblegum pink pastel crème. I found this to be very thick and a little streaky. I needed three coats for this gal. I love this color, I wish the formula worked better for me.

Bunny-Foo-Foo is a minty blue pastel crème. This one was much better, had a thinner consistency and covered perfectly in two coats. And that name is seriously adorable!

Peachie Poo is a soft peachy orange pastel crème. This one was pretty thick, but I only needed two coats here and it wasn't as streaky as the pink shade.

Doodle Bug is a sky blue crème. This guy was thinner like the mint shade, it went on nice and easy. Two coats here. This color is so good! Sure to be a fan favorite.

Cutie Patootie is a pastel lavender purple crème. The formula was thick but easy to apply. This was almost opaque in one coat, but I used two for complete coverage.

These are sold at the moment, but they will be back in stock very soon on the Pretty Serious Cosmetics website. They all cost $9.95 AUD each. What do you think of this round of the Pet Names? I like all the colors, very classic pastels! Hope your week is excellent and we'll see ya again soon!

Pretty Serious Cosmetics Goth Pet Names Collection Swatches & Review

Hey cookies! Today I have the second installment of the Pretty Serious Cosmetics "Well Meaning But Ultimately Quite Awkward Pet Names" collection! These four crèmes are the "goth" pet name shades that came out for the Halloween season, but they work for any time of year of course. If you missed the first part of this collection which came out a few months ago, check them out here. Let's take a peek at the new colors!

Gloomy Kitty is a wine berry crème. This formula is really excellent, almost a one coater. I used two here for complete coverage. I adore this shade, not quite an oxblood but more of a warm purple.

Baron Von Bootiful is a slate grey teal crème. Another amazing formula, this was totally perfect in just one coat! A unique shade too, glad to have it!

Pumpkin Head is a bright squash colored orange crème. Even though this is almost a neon, and a notoriously streaky type of shade, it applied beautifully! Perhaps a tad thick but not in a bad way, it made it easier to put on. Although to totally cover my nail line, I used three coats. I've heard most others are getting it opaque in two though. Dries matte so use a top coat for shine.

Darkling Squishy is a deep green crème. Perfection, same type of formula as Gloomy Kitty, almost opaque in one but completely there on two. Stunning staple shade, you need it! The name of this one always reminds me of Darkwing Duck when I say it out loud haha.

These are available now on the Pretty Serious website for $9.95 AUD (conversion chart on the website for other currencies). They are based in Australia, but they have a shipping warehouse in the US so shipping is cheaper for us in the States. Also, they always have free shipping for orders in Australia, USA, & Canada over $50 AUD (translating into around $37 USD!) and free shipping worldwide for orders over $100.  Let me know what you think about these colors! I will be back with another Pretty Serious post soon, the three new Naileontology shades! Have a great day!

Pretty Serious Cosmetics Pet Names Collection Swatches & Review

The Well Meaning But Ultimately Quite Awkward Pet Names Collection might be one of the best, and longest, nail polish collection names of any that I've ever heard. Australian indie brand Pretty Serious Cosmetics always shows off their fabulous sense of humor in their artwork, color names, and shade stories, but they doubled down on the funny for this one. This collection is made up of five crèmes and one shimmer, all with adorable but gaggy sweet pet names. Let's have a look yeah?

Sugar Cakes is a neon bubble-gummy pink crème that dries to a satin/matte finish. I used top coat to make it glossy. This is almost a one coater, a tiny bit thick but manageable. I did use two coats to completely even it out.

Honey Puff is a sunny honey bee yellow crème. I love yellows but usually find them difficult to use, however this one was surprisingly uncomplicated! A tiny bit watery but still very opaque which was a real treat for this type of shade. Two coats.

Snugglebutt is a bright but mid-toned purple, with a touch of blue to it. This had a thinner formula, might take three coats depending on your application but I only needed two. I seem to have acquired a few polishes in this tone of purple lately, must be on trend?

Stud Muffin is a sexy warm, bright red crème with a great formula. I had no issues and it was opaque in two coats. Reds are not usually my favorite to wear as a full manicure, but I always like the look when I swatch them haha. Plus, that name is reason enough to get this one haha.

Cuddle Bunny is the lone shade with a bit of shimmer in this bunch. It's an airy lavender with a touch of delicate silver shimmer. This one was thin, but not runny. And again, opaque in two coats! This ended up being lighter and more subdued than I was expecting from the promo shots, but I still like it.

Pookie is a yummy turquoise/aqua blue crème bordering on a sky blue. It's one of those lovely in between shades I'm not quite sure how to describe, you just have to see it in person. Great buttery formula, two coats.
Pretty Serious Pookie

These aren't necessarily "fall colors", and they aren't labeled as limited editions so I think they'll be around for a while. (Especially since a few "goth" shades were just added to this category on their website!) Excellent colors for any occasion, good for nail art, etc. I'm partial to Pookie but I really do like them all. Unique or not, they have really good formulas and would be an asset to anyone's arsenal of paint. Available now on the Pretty Serious website for $9.95 AUD (around $7.18 USD) per 11ml bottle.
