Zoya Fall 2016 Urban Grunge Collection - Metallic Holos Swatches & Review

I'm back today with the second half of the fall collection from Zoya! The Urban Grunge collection is twelve shades, six of which I showed you Friday and now we have the sparklier six! These are named the metallic holos, not that they're both--three are metallic and three are holos. I am pretty much carried away by my love of these, so let's get to the swatches!

Merida is a brilliant evergreen filled with holographic flakes. This is the infamous Zoya holo formula, like previous hits Dream, Storm, etc. I have been waiting for them to come out with a green version, along with a lot of others, for a long time so I am absolutely over the moon for this! Awesome formula, covers completely in one coat but gets deeper with two layers.
Zoya Merida

Alicia is a pale silver holographic with holo flakes a touch of gold flash. This applied really nicely, easy formula. It was really super close to being opaque in two coats for me, but I could still barely see my nail line so I used three.
Zoya Alicia

Finley is a deep royal purple with holographic flakies, same formula as Merida. A tiny bit less opaque, but I still only needed two coats.
Zoya Finely

Britta is a creamy berry metallic with a red and purple fuchsia flash and tons of gold shimmer. I wasn't sure about this when I saw it in the bottle but it really wowed me when I put it on. Super opaque, one coater but I used two here.
Zoya Britta

Troy is a liquid pewter grey with a foil finish and an touch of black and gold. Crazy good formula, another one that's opaque in one coat. I used two again. One of my favorite colors to wear on my nails, gunmetal!
Zoya Troy

Ash is vibrant cherry metallic with a red and gold shimmer. Same formula as the other two metallics, one coater again! This looks way cuter on the nail than I expected, very sparkly. And I have to say, they really missed an opportunity naming this one Ash instead of Troy, the actual ash colored one... Oh well!
Zoya Ash

These are available now on the Zoya website for $10 each. I posted the first half of the collection already, the "one coat creams", they are not to be missed! What do you think of these six shimmering shades? I love them all, and honestly this might be my favorite Zoya collection in a long time!

OPI The Amazing Spider-man Collection

Yay! New OPI collection, woot woot! This one is inspired by the new movie The Amazing Spider-man, which comes out this summer. The collection has six shades and a new color of "shatter" special effect topcoat.

First up is My Boyfriend Scales Walls, a color OPI describes as "cityscape white". I guess that means dingy and slightly grey? Wa, wa, wa ;) I actually like this color, it's not a stark white and it's got a pretty decent formula for such a light cream. This is three coats.

The shatter topcoat is called Shatter the Scales, it's a dark slightly blueish forest green with silver shimmer. It dries matte but I put a shiny topcoat on to beef up the hawtness.

This is Just Spotted the Lizard is described as a "reptilian yellow-green". I see it as a Chanel Peridot dupe haha. It's metallic gold with green duochrome and a blue tinge on the edges. This is two coats.

This hot and spicy orange is Call Me Gwen-Ever. It's a muted less bright orange than we've been seeing trending lately. It has coral undertones, which is delightfully different. This is two coats.

Into the Night is a shimmery metallic midnight blue. It's not really a cobalt and not really a navy, it's like a combination of those two. I didn't love this one, it's pretty but nothing too exciting. The brushstrokes were present, but not really a problem. Two coats.

This is Number One Nemesis, another Chanel dupe (Graphite this time). Foily with glitter, green tinged nickel pewter. I like it as much as I do the other dupe I showed you the other day, Smoky Feather. This is two coats.

And the token pink, Your Web or Mine. This one I didn't expect to like, but I ended up enjoying a lot. It's a frosty rose pink. Brush strokes are gonna happen when you have a frost, it's just their nature. However, these are manageable. I feel a little "grandma" wearing this but like I said, I do like it. This is two coats.

I think this collection is a win, save the blue that just doesn't work for me. I am not really into comic books, or Spider-man in particular, (am I the only one who didn't know the name was hyphenated?) but that never stopped me from partaking in some awesome colors. You should be able to pick these up in stores around May for $8.50 each. What do you think of these pretties? Are you planning on seeing The Amazing Spider-man?

Jessica Cosmetics - Smoky Feather

Hi everyone! Today I want to show you one of my favorite new polishes, Smoky Feather by Jessica Cosmetics. It is my first Jessica polish ever, crazy huh! I really like their bottle design, the handle is nice and grip-y and the logo is sleek. I got this polish mainly because it is a dupe for Chanel's Graphite, which I passed on when it came out but have been regretting ever since. In fact, this collection trio, Peacock Queen, are all dupes for Chanel's Fall 2011 polishes that caused such a big splash.

The polish is an olive green tinged pewter metallic shimmer with tons of microglitter that just glows! This swatch is two coats. It's really super beautiful in person.

I bought this on NinjaPolish.com for $6, which is a $20 price difference from the Chanel polishes. I've heard that it's slightly less sparkly than Graphite, but honestly at that price, it's hard to discriminate.

nympho, bite me, & damn i'm hot

hey lacquer-istas!  i'm here again to show you some more awesome varnishes from cheeky monkey cosmetics.  this one is called nympho, hahahaha.  i seriously blushed when i read the title, and i am not a shy girl!  it is an autumn apple orangey-brown red.  not really my color.  applied easily.  this is two coats.  (please excuse the red staining around my cuticles, as this is from the previous polish i wore.)
bite me was probably my favorite polish out of the ones that i got from CM.  it's a nice pink shade but i was afraid i wasn't going to like it looking at it in the bottle--it seemed like it would be really sheer, like used for a french manicure.  however after two coats it's a squishy medium pink jelly suprise :D  la la love it!
and damn i'm hot is the polish i thought i was going to like the most, but probably ended up being the one i liked second to last.  it was a bit too brush-strokey for me.  however it is really a fun color and it is described on their website as a "streaky pewter" so i guess that's what they were going for.  very sparkley.  this is also two coats.

what do you guys think?  have you tried cheeky monkey cosmetics yet?  the best think about this brand is that their polishes rank a 1 on the skin deep cosmetics safety database (a 1-10 scale with one being the lowest hazard score).  idk about you but that makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside :)  you can get cheeky monkey polishes on their website.  they're $15 so they aren't cheap, but if you're looking for something new and different in the polish world, CM might just be for you.

craze shield

i am such a junkie. a nail polish junkie, just to clarify ;) i was madly searching for the wet n' wild craze collection around my local stores and low and behold the third walgreens i checked had them. *ahem* still in the crates waiting to be unpacked, which i made the sales girl dig rifle through to get my treasures. i know, i'm sick.

the first guy i chose to show you is shield, a lovely shimmery silvery pewterish color with flecks of copper . it's really hard to describe. but i like the name, cuz it does remind me of a shield of armor or something. i'm so in like with it! i don't especially care for the tiny brushes but hey what can y0u do with the cutie tiny bottles these guys come in? and they're not too tiny (not sephora glitter polish tiny thank god) but smaller than normal at .34 oz. good formula, i can't wait to paint the rest of the colors i got on my tips :) laters!
