Powder Perfect Christmas 2016 Trio Swatches & Review

Hi there! Thanks for dropping by today, I know there's a lot going on with all the great Black Friday shopping deals out there, and lots of us are recovering from food comas via yesterday's Thanksgiving feasts haha. But we gotta have polish! I have three awesome lacquers to show you today from Australian indie Powder Perfect for Christmas!

Sophisticated Santa is a rich warm red holographic with gold and silver shimmery highlights. This has a fabulous formula and covers in one coat. It does deepen a bit on the second coat, which is how many I've done here. This also dries super shiny!
Powder Perfect Sophisticated Santa

Merry Little Christmas is a bright tree green glitterbomb with several shades of green and silver glitters mixed throughout. This goes on easily, it's quite glitter dense but that didn't affect application at all for me. Two coats. This is a full glitter polish so you'll want a thick layer of top coat or two for a smooth finish.
Powder Perfect Merry Little Christmas

Sexy Santa is a luxe maroon red holographic with a glowy pink undertone. This seemed a bit uneven on the first layer despite it being very pigmented, it has more of a jelly-ish consistency, but two coats made it look perfect. Another really shiny one, but I always use top coat anyway.
Powder Perfect Sexy Santa

These shades are available now on http://www.powderperfect.com.au/ (Australian site) and http://www.powder-perfect.com/ (USA site). The two reds are $12.50 each and the green is $11. Let me know what your thoughts are on this jolly trio! I am head over heels with Powder Perfect's deep holographic effect so the reds are irresistible to me. Have a great Friday!

Powder Perfect Halloween Duo 2016 Swatches & Review

Inspired by the three witch’s poem from Shakespeare’s Macbeth, the Halloween duo from Australian indie brand Powder Perfect is ready for the season of the witch! These two new shades feature unusual color combinations that totally capture the Halloween spirit. Let's take a look!

Cauldron Bubble has a dark purpley almost-black base filled with multichromatic shimmer that shifts from purple to green and chameleon chrome flakies that flex in tones of copper/fuchsia/green. This was pretty sheer on the first coat, but it built up on itself really nicely. I did use three coats, but it was super close to being opaque in two. Dries a bit dull so you'll want a glossy top coat.
Powder Perfect Cauldron Bubble

Toil & Trouble has a murky olive green crème base with added pink iridescent flakies and gold holographic microglitter. I found this to be a bit runny so be sure not to overload your brush. I used two coats here for full opacity. A glossy top coat really brought this to life, it is just the type of shade I will be sporting the entire fall season!
Powder Perfect Toil & Trouble

The duo is available on the Powder Perfect website and their US site now for $13 AUD/USD each or $24 for the duo. Let me know what you think about these two polishes! Are you ready for October and Halloween? Because I sure am!

Powder Perfect Anniversary Duo + Egyptology Series Part III [Partial] Swatches & Review

Hey folks! I was planning on posting this yesterday but my internet went out this weekend. It was basically tragic. But it came back Sunday afternoon so I was able to make it happen, haha. These polishes are from Australian based indie Powder Perfect, their third anniversary duo and half of the new Egyptology series part III. Let's jump in to the goodness!

Elysium is the first shade in the anniversary duo, a silver holographic with a mix of sparkling microglitters and fuchsia to green shifting ultra chrome flakies. I don't know what kind of holo pigments they are using down there in Australia...but I'm in love! It seems kinda subtle at first glance, then hits you in the face with rainbow fire. I can't even describe it really. This is almost a one coater, which is impressive for a silver. I used two layers here.
Powder Perfect Elysium

Utopia is a vibrant pink holographic with sparkling holo microglitters and ultra chrome flakies. Same formula as Elysium, two coats here as well. These make a great pair, a super duo to celebrate Powder Perfect's third year!
Powder Perfect Utopia

There are 10 shades in the Egyptology Series Part III and I have six of them to show you today. They all had pretty similar formulas, a finish they are calling a "holo-twist", a fine microglitter polish crossed with a holographic for a smoother, sparkly finish. Goes on like a dream, not thick or difficult to apply. A little less opaque, so I built them up in three coats for 100% coverage. They dry slightly gritty, so you'll want a thick top coat.

Ra is inspired by the ancient Egyptian sun god and is a silver based holo-twist lacquer with a golden hue.
Powder Perfect Ra

Mother Goddess is named after the goddess Isis, whose parents where the sky and the earth. This blue polish was inspired by tears Isis cried for her murdered husband, Osiris.
Powder Perfect Mother Goddess

Hathor is designed to represent the feminine goddess who represented joy, love, and motherhood. A juicy hot pink with small sparkling microglitters and coral flakies within a holographic base.
Powder Perfect Hathor

Osiris was the god of the afterlife, usually shown as being mummified, with green skin, hence the emerald green of this holo-twist polish, filled with microglitters in various shades.
Powder Perfect Osiris

Horus was often depicted as a falcon, or with the head of a falcon placed on a man’s body. This is a dark maroon with sparkling red glitters and holographic particles. This is one you might be able to get away with two coats on, it's a little more opaque.
Powder Perfect Horus

Divine Pharaoh is a glittering silver holo microglitter with a subtle green reflect and metallic copper and gold glitters, that represent pharaohs and their treasures.
Powder Perfect Divine Pharaoh

The remaining shades in the collection are Heka, a purple, Scarab, a teal blue, Weighing the Heart, a pink, and Saqqara, a sunset orange. These polishes are all available now, either on the Powder Perfect Australian site or their US site. They are all $13 each. Let me know what you think about these! I'm kind of head over heels for them!

Powder Perfect Antique Princess Duo Mei Mei's Signatures Exclusive Swatches & Review

Good day to you dear friend! Australian indie brand Powder Perfect has created an exclusive duo for Singapore based nail polish stockist Mei Mei's Signatures called the Antique Princess duo and I've got them to show you today!

Contested Crown is a mauvey purple shimmery holographic filled with blue to purple shifting micro flakes. This is gorgeous and deep and complex. A little thin, but applied easily. I used three coats, but two would probably work fine for most. The holo is more apparent in person, it was harder to capture in a photo.
Powder Perfect Contested Crown

Forgotten Princess features gold to fuchsia shifting metallic flakies in an olive green jelly base. This reminds me of a magical forest, perhaps that is where the princess got forgotten? Good formula, a touch on the runny side, so don't overload your brush with product. This is three coats.
Powder Perfect Forgotten Princess

These are available now on the Mei Mei's Signature's website for SGD 17.00 each, which is about $12.50 USD with the current exchange rate. Let me know what you think of these lacquers! Are you more into the shimmer/holo or the flakies? Talk to you again soon!

Powder Perfect Bermuda Triangle Trio Swatches & Review

Hi there :) Today I have three new polishes from Australian indie brand Powder Perfect to share, called the Bermuda Triangle trio! Three intense summer crèmes to flaunt on the beach, at the pool, or wherever you are living it up this season!

Bermuda is a super bright teal crème. It leans more green in real life but my camera couldn't deal. This was lovely to apply and opaque in two coats. This kind of color tends to stain, so I'd double up on your base coat just in case. However, I didn't notice any staining personally. I really enjoy the Powder Perfect bottle and brush, the design makes it very easy to polish with.
Powder Perfect Bermuda

Florida is a striking coral crème, kind of a mix between a neon and a pastel, but not really either one of those haha. This one was a touch on the streaky side, which I have noticed in a lot of coral polishes in this tone. It may be something to do with the pigment type? I used three coats here to cover the streaks but you may get away with two.
Powder Perfect Florida

Puerto Rico is a summery vibrant purple crème. This formula was really easy and smooth for me, no issues. Opaque in two coats. I am in love with this color! I need to put it on my toes right away!
Powder Perfect Puerto Rico

I was also able to try out their new glossy, quick dry top coat, Lightning Lady. It has a thinner consistency than I'm used to seeing from indies, but it dries pretty quickly and gives a really shiny and hard finish to a manicure. Most of my more plush top coats tend to dry faster, but they don't give me that rock hard surface that this does. Another plus to this gal was zero shrinkage! No matter what I do, with absolutely all my quick dry top coats for the last few years, I seem to experience shrinkage at my cuticles after a few hours of wear. Not the case with Lightning Lady! When I have a bit longer to wait for a perfectly tuned mani, I'll be using this!

You can purchase these at their Australian site http://www.powderperfect.com.au, or their US site http://www.powder-perfect.com. The polishes sell for $10.50 each and the top coat is $11. There is a sale right now where you can get the trio for $29.70 if purchased as a set. And as a special treat, I have a discount code for you (non-affiliate), if you put in KELLIE at checkout on http://www.powder-perfect.com, you can save 10% off your entire purchase! Valid through 7/31/16. Let me know what you think of these pretty bright shades!

Powder Perfect The Midlands Collection Swatches & Review

Hi there :) My week is not going all that well so far, but at least I've got some great polish to show you today! The Midlands Collection from Australian indie brand Powder Perfect is releasing this week, yay! The Midlands is a "swathe of land that cuts across the heart of England. It is home to Sherwood Forest, a mysterious place that provided refuge for the legendary renegade Robin Hood & his merry men." I love the story of Robin Hood so I am really stoked for this collection.

Robin Hood is a rich Lincoln Green crème inspired by the color of cloth Robin Hood & his merry men wore for clothing. This seemed a bit thin, but was nice and opaque at two coats. What a beautiful shade of green!
Powder Perfect Robin Hood

Nottingham is a blackened navy blue with a smattering of scattered holographic glimmers. I love the super fine holo that Powder Perfect does, unique and glowy! This was totally opaque in one coat, but I did two here.
Powder Perfect Nottingham

Maid Marian is a multi-faceted character, which is reflected in her namesake polish. It has a muted purple base filled with duochrome glitters and shimmer that shift from gold to dark pink. I detect a small amount of green in this as well. Thin and a bit sheer on the first coat, but I got full coverage in just two layers. This is one you have to see in person to really appreciate, it's gorgeous! My friend Valesha over at Peachy Polish has a jaw-dropping macro of this lady on her review post here.
Powder Perfect Maid Marian

Watchful Nights is a dark eggplant purple jelly. Lovely shade of purple, but the formula didn't seem to want to apply evenly for me. You can see around the edges on some nails it seems a bit more translucent. This is two coats, but perhaps three would've worked better.
Powder Perfect Watchful Nights

This collection will be available on May 12th at 7pm EST on the Powder Perfect US based website, and on May 13th 10am QLD time (which may be at the same time, idk) on the Australian website. What say you about this foursome of shades? Have you tried Powder Perfect yet?

Powder Perfect The Palace Collection Swatches & Review

Happy Wednesday all! I'm back with another indie collection, this time from Australian brand Powder Perfect. The Palace Collection is inspired by the Cinderella fable as told by Charles Perrault & the Brothers Grimm. There are five polishes in the collection, with crème, foil & holographic finishes in dreamy colors.

Cinder Soot is a beautiful polish incarnation of cinders & ashes, a creamy grey base filled with gold flakies & a holographic glow. Excellent formula, easy application. Fully opaque in just two coats. $12.50AUD/USD
Powder Perfect Cinder Soot

Search The Kingdom is a pretty, feminine pastel pink crème. Nice formula, but I did need three coats for full coverage. However, you may be able to get away with two depending on your application style. $10.50AUD/$11USD
Powder Perfect Search The Kingdom

If The Slipper Fits is a soft holographic purple with color shifting flakies that change from purple to blue. This is one of the most complex holographic shades I've seen, especially in this color. It's quite striking in person, I was not able to do it justice in this photo. Fabulous formula, two coats. $12.50AUD/USD
Powder Perfect If The Slipper Fits

Turtledoves is a delicate ivory crème. Not quite bright white, more soft and muted. Surprisingly lovely formula for such a light color. Two coats here. $10.50AUD/$11USD
Powder Perfect Turtledoves

First Dance is a cornflower blue metallic foil. Not my favorite finish, but even I can appreciate the formula. Opaque in one coat but I used two. There are some brushstrokes, but such is to be expected with a foil. $11.50AUD/USD
Powder Perfect First Dance

Hazel Twig is a pale green holographic shimmer polish with gold-green flakies. Another super complex polish, to which I have no equal. And the formula here is also top notch, two coats for opacity. $12.50AUD/USD
Powder Perfect Hazel Twig

These polishes are available now on the Australian Powder Perfect website and the US Powder Perfect website! I listed the prices by each shade description because they're different, obviously haha. So what do you think of these pretty shades? I'm bowled over, seriously impressed! My must-haves are Slipper, Hazel and Cinder. Let me know which is your favorite!

Powder Perfect Insomnia Trio + Widow's Watch Swatches & Review

Hi there friends! I've got some polishes from a new-to-me brand today, Australian indie Powder Perfect! They have been around for a while but I hadn't tried them yet, and I'm happy to report that my first experience has been quite positive! I'll be showing you their new soon-to-be released Insomnia Trio and a retired shade that has been rebooted and brought back to life. On to the swatches!

First up in the Insomnia Trio is I Can't Sleep, a bright, brilliant orchid purple crelly. It's very pigmented for a crelly and is super easy to apply. Surprisingly opaque in just two coats! I love that this is so easy to apply, because I have similar shades in my collection that don't have as good of a formula. Also dries very shiny.
Powder Perfect I Can't Sleep

Late At Night is a lush emerald microshimmer. Pretty glitzy for a shimmer shade, really bordering on being a metallic. Kind of a cool teal-ish tone to the green. Another great formula and covers totally in one coat, but turns slightly deeper with two layers. I really enjoy this color!
Powder Perfect Late At Night

And last in the trio is Thinking Of You, a reddish bright pink with a finely milled soft holographic finish and strong magenta shimmer. It's very opaque, basically in one coat but I could still see a hint of a nail line, so I used two. I really enjoy this shade, and it's kind of got a different looking finish that I don't feel like I really have in my collection.
Powder Perfect Thinking Of You

And the returning shade is called Widow's Watch, a very dark eggplant purple scattered holographic. The press material says it was inspired by "the parapet walk that graced Victorian era mansions, where women would look out to sea, waiting for their husbands to return". It originally came out in their Abandoned Mansion Collection released in February 2014, called Widow's Walk then. It was a big hit so they brought it back, slightly revamped. Super easy formula to polish with, opaque in just one coat, but I did two like always. Dries very shiny as well! The holo isn't super strong, but sometimes you don't always want a sparkle bomb.
Powder Perfect Widow's Watch

These will launch on their new US based website www.powder-perfect.com on Jan. 27 at 7pm EST time, and on their Australian site www.powderperfect.com.au on Jan. 28 at 10am QLD time. I Can't Sleep will cost $10.50 AUD/$11 USD and the other shades will be $12.50 AUD/$12.50 USD for an 11 ml bottle. Let me know if you've tried this brand before! I'm looking forward to trying more from Powder Perfect, because these were all lovely. Are you thinking of picking up any of these shades?
