Cirque Colors The Metropolis Collection September 2015 Swatches & Review

Hi everyone! I hope the week is treating you well :) I have the three new shades from Cirque Colors for The Metropolis collection for September 2015 to show you today! They had a bit of a break in releasing new crème colors for this ongoing collection, as we haven't seen new ones since June, but they are back in action now! This month's colors might be my favorite yet, they are so good!

Deco is a lavender-grey crème. This one can kind of change colors in different lights, looking much more purple in some and way more grey in others, and kinda blue at times This was almost a one coater, very buttery and opaque in a nice thin, but not runny, consistency. I used two coats for full coverage. It also dries very shiny.

Jane on Jane St is a chic rose-mauve crème. It has the same excellent formula, opaque in two coats with a shiny finish. Good golly, I am in love with this color!

Page Six is a dove grey crème. I am just amazed at the formulas on these, they are all so great they practically apply themselves. Two coats, dries very shiny.

You can purchase these shades and the rest of the colors in The Metropolis collection on the Cirque Colors website for $13 each. Be sure to check their list of stockists too! What do you think of these moody pale shades? I think they are great transitional colors for the start of a colder season!

Zoya Naturel Deux (2) Collection Swatches & Review

Hellooooo there! Today I have Zoya's new Naturel Deux (2) collection. This is the follow up to their first Naturel collection that came out last year with lighter neutral shades. There are six crèmes, three in brown tones and three in mauve tones. Let's take a look!

First is Aubrey, a mid-tone mauve crème. This went on smooth and buttery in two coats. I really like this color, I'm surprised how flattering it is on me.

Next is Chanelle, a toasty warm milky brown. This one is another very flattering shade for me. Great formula, two coats.

Madeline is a soft rose crème. Some might refer to this as a "grandma" color but I don't think of rose colors like that. I think it's classic and feminine and I adore it. This is also two coats.

Here is Emilia, a dark chocolate brown. This one dries a tad darker than it looks in the bottle, but I love it. This seems to be a really trendy color for this fall and I am enjoying it. This is two coats.

This is Marnie, a warm plummy mauve. I like this a lot too, this is just a really good collection! Two coats.

And last is Spencer, a beigey camel crème. I was prepared to dislike this one but it turned out so nice with my skin tone. Almost a "mannequin hands" shade for me. Perfect opacity in two coats.

You can purchase these from Zoya's website for $9 each or in some Ulta retail stores. What do you think of this collection? I'm glad they came out with some darker neutral shades for the folks with darker skin tones. I actually liked these a lot more than I expected to, I felt like they were all really flattering. Aubrey and Spencer are my favorites of the collection. Thanks for stopping by and I'll see you next time!

Zoya Magical PixieDust Collection Spring 2014 Swatches & Review

Today I have a trio of texture polishes from Zoya, called the Magical PixieDust collection. They have the Zoya PixieDust texture with added chunky holographic bits making them more blingy and "magical". Zoya does texture polishes super well so I was eagerly anticipating what these would look like and how they would be to wear.

Cosmo is a silver glitter with multi-sized bits and holo sequins. It was a little thicker than normal PixieDusts but I expected that. It wasn't hard to apply but I did take a little more care in application so it wouldn't get too thick. This is two coats.
Zoya - Cosmo

Next is Lux, a pale rose metallic color with the same texture and holo glitter bits. I thought I would like this the best out of the three but the color wasn't as rich as I thought it would be on the nail. This is two coats. It's not as opaque as the others.
Zoya - Lux

And last is Vega, a light aqua metallic glitter. I love how the holo bits in this come alive, like glistening tide pools or something. This one was probably the most opaque out of the three. This is two coats.
Zoya - Vega

You can get these from Zoya.com for $10 each. What do you think of these supercharged mega textures? I was pleasantly surprised that they weren't super chunky or that hard to apply, which was a concern. I think if you go slow and let them dry a bit in between layers you'll be just fine. They also didn't feel as thick or any grittier than any other texture polish. I love them and I hope Zoya comes out with more.

zoya fire & ice aka flame collection

this is the first time i have ever had the chance to review a full zoya collection and i am thrilled that it is this one! zoya's new fire and ice collection for the fall/winter season of 2010 is all about shimmer and metallic particles of sexiness! there are six shades in the collection and all of them were two coaters except one.
let's start with my favorite, gloria.  this is a gorgeous pinky rose color with chunky gold metallic particles, but it's not chunky in formula, it's very foil-like.  (i highly recommend clicking on the photos to enlarge them, for all of these :D)
crystal is a gorgeous icey blue color with more of that chunky gold foil particle, so modern and sexy but still really classy and chic!  i don't loooove the color so much on me but i bet it would be smashing on lighter or darker skin tones.  the blue and yellow just pop against each other, yeah?
lisa is an uber happy bright fun red!  yay for shimmer says zoya, with this baby!  this one has a gold duochrome, instead of a foil like some of the others.  love this one!
sarah is a gorgeous red shimmer, the deeper of the two reds in this collection.  these polishes have amazing depth that can really only be seen in person, so have mercy on me, i tried to do my best to capture it in these photos :)
valerie didn't really excite me when i first saw the promo images, i was feeling a little burnt out on purples, but this baby really kicked it up a notch!  this is a plummy purple duochrome with pink and gold shimmer!  super gorgeous!  wish my pictures really could show it's elegance, but like i said, you HAVE to see these in real life to appreciate them fully!  this is the color i used three coats on because i had a bit of cuticle drag, but it could've been a fluke.
tiffany is also a stunner, and i liked it way more than i thought i would.  it's a peach champagne color, reminding me of my days in middle school sneaking sips of my friends' moms' arbor mist HAHA.  this one also has that chunky gold foil effect, and i have to say i'm diggen it!  i really like foils, they always wear like iron on me!
i think this is a whole collection of winners!  what do you think?  have you all picked out any favorites from fire and ice yet?

xoxo,

china glaze vintage vixen pt. 1

what's up blog-o-sphere? i have for you today a very highly anticipated collection from the geniuses over at china glaze headquarters. yep, that's right, the fall vintage vixen collection! 1940's style at it's hippest, these colors are inspired by the swinging times of old but old hardly describes their hotness! i was super excited to get my hands on this collection and i happily report that they did not disappoint!

first up are (l to r): classic camel, first class ticket, hey doll, and riveter rouge.

classic camel is described as a khaki crème with gold micro glitter. i compare it to dijon mustard, a gorgeous brownish yellow with dark gold shimmer. i am CRAZY over this color! it may not be most people's cup of tea, but i fell head over heels with this guy.

first class ticket seemed pretty ho-hum to me, actually despite it's obvious gorgeousness. i feel like we've seen a lot of these purples lately. but this polish has something the others don't. turquoise shimmer! yep, and lots of it. i could do without the sightly frostyness but otherwise, this turned out to be a winner.

hey doll was one of the polishes i was most anxious to try. it's described as a rose frost with shimmer. i agree and love that a pink found it's way into this collection, as i wasn't sure one would with the vintage theme. i have a feeling this gal will be one of the first shades that is sold out from the collection once it hits stores.

riveter rouge is the PERFECT name for this lacquer. the gorgeous red polish looks as if it has tiny rivets in it! and of course it makes me think of our girl-power spokesperson from the era, Rosie the Riveter. awesome polish! absolutely sparkles in the sun :D

eyeko polish

these are my first eyeko polishes ever and i absolutely love them. eyeko means "love" in japanese and the logo of this company looks very brit/harajuku :) it's a london based company so you have to order them online, USA girls but that's alright, they're worth it. i was sent posh polish: for ladylike nails, tea rose polish: for country nails, and vampira polish: for gothic nails.
