Takko Lacquer New Releases Swatches & Review

Hello and happy Sunday Funday! It is definitely a fun day for me because I'm bringing you two new indie shades from Takko Lacquer! I was pleased as punch when Sheryl the owner of the company asked me if I'd like to review their latest colors and of course said yes please! Takkitos, the nickname for their polishes, are very popular in the nail community and I love being able to share in demand colors with you all!

First is C.R.E.A.M. (Cake Rules Everything Around Me), the polish they made for the 3rd birthday of their brand! Yay for birthdays! This shade is a baby pink crelly with golden shimmer and multicolored matte teeny tiny hex glitters, inspired by pink funfetti cake! It was easy to work with and was opaque in two coats.

And next is Kitsch, a polish that Sheryl created for the Cosmoprof North America convention that just happened earlier this month in Las Vegas. I wish I could've gone again! (I went one year, it ruled!) This polish has various shades of pink glitters, holographic silver shimmer and holo flakies in a clear base. Once dried it has a pink sugar cotton candy scent, which is so perfect for me! I used one coat over another Takko Lacquer called Xocomil, which I'll be reviewing soon. Kitsch is super easy to apply with great glitter payoff! I love this combo!

It's important to note that all Takko Lacquer polishes are 5 free, mineral based, 100% cruelty free and are infused with Vitamin E, so they all dry satin or matte. Both of these dried satiny so I used a shiny top coat.

These will be available at TakkoLacquer.com on July 28th at 8 pm EST for $13 each. I'm really happy with these two shades, and am excited to also be bringing you swatches of their summer collection very soon! Let me know what you think about these two beauties!

Color Club Love Tahiry Collection Swatches & Review

Hi folks! Today I wanted to share with you the Love Tahiry collection from Color Club. This wasn't specifically described as a Valentine's Day collection but it definitely has those types of shades. These are all designed by Tahiry Jose, who I just learned is on the reality show Love & Hip Hop: New York (sorry, I don't watch it). These all have a special scent to them when they dry. Let's take a look shall we?

First is Sweet Getaway, a very neon pink shade. On the nails it appears hotter & glowy-er than the pink color in the bottle. It seems to go on very opaque, but there was still some streaking with two coats so I needed three. It does apply very easily for such a neon color though. This one has a "pink rose" scent. I love rose scented things normally, but unfortunately this scent was too overwhelming for me to want to wear this again.

Here we have Tall Dark & Handsome, a dusty deep grey crème. It has a thin formula but is very opaque. I used two coats. This scent is described as "cologne" and that is right on. I like men's scents but I don't know if I want my nails to smell super masculine haha. It was a bit too strong for me.

Seal It With a Kiss is a strawberry scented peachy pink light coral crème. This is so my type of color. It was a little on the thick side but manageable. I used two coats. This scent was pretty subtle, but nice and sweet.

This is 50 Shades of Love, a topper with metallic red and pearl white heart glitters in a clear(ish) base. You can see how the color on the red hearts has flaked off some and infiltrated the base. I actually like how the red bits look in the base but I wish the hearts didn't look scratched. I had to kinda place the hearts on, but this is one coat over Seal It With a Kiss. This one says it smells like "candy" but it's a very lightly scented one.

Next is Red-Handed, a cool red crème. This is pretty basic, but a staple kind of shade. It had a great easy to apply formula. This is two coats. It's labeled as smelling like "cinnamon" but I didn't smell anything except nail polish on this one.

This is On Cloud Nine, a squishy white jelly crème. It was still a bit streaky on two coats so I used three. This has a "white chocolate" scent, it was probably my favorite of the scents.

And last is Jitters, my favorite shade of the collection with my least favorite scent. It's a rosy pink and silver holographic microglitter with full coverage in two easy coats. I love the way it looks! Unfortunately the "bubbly" scent they put in it, which I'm assuming is supposed to smell like champagne, just overpowers me and it actually gave me a headache. To be fair, I'm pretty sensitive to a lot of scents, but I had to mention it.

These are available on the Color Club website for $8.50 each. I also know they are stocked at some e-tailers like Llarowe and HB Beauty Bar (though I have never ordered from HB). What do you think of these colors? How do you feel about scented nail polish?

Have a fly day!

Color Club Wicked Sweet Collection

I've never tried scented polish before I got to test out the Color Club Wicked Sweet collection. Now I know I do not like them. Well, scratch that. I cannot like them. I think these polishes are really pretty and well made but the smell makes my head feel like it's imploding. They have perfectly lovely scents that have a candy theme, but after a few minutes of them, I felt like I had jumped into a vat of melting candy after halloween or something. I am very sensitive to smells and the wrong scent can even give me a migraine at times, so I am probably not meant to have these. *Le Sigh* Shame.

This is the first neon collection from Color Club I will show you, as they came out with a second one for the summer this year. The collection is made up of seven shades. I swatched them here as a skittles mani. (Before you ask, I did try them by themselves and they still overwhelmed me so that wasn't the problem :( Sad panda.)
Raspberry Rush is on my index finger, it is a magenta jelly crème with a fab finish. La la love this one! It doesn't really smell like raspberries, more like jelly beans to me. Wicked Sweet is on my middle finger, the frosty blue raspberry color. It smells like artificial sugar to me, sounds yucky but it's delightful! The Lime Starts Here on my ring finger is a neon lime green jelly crème with a sour scent. On my pinky is Gimme a Grape Big Kiss, which I thought was my favorite scent at first turned out to be the one that gave me the worst headache. It had that grape hard candy smell that really lingers. It's a lovely polish though, jelly crème purple with red tones. And on my thumb is Get Your Lem-On, a shimmery neon yellow with a lemon drop scent. I like it but it took a bit to build up opacity and I had some bubbles in this one and didn't in the others.
Here are the last two shades along with three of the ones I've already talked about. On my index is I Always Get My Man-darin, a shimmery light icy orange with a fakey orange scent. Sort of like Tampico haha. And last is Yum Gum, a safe light bubblegum pink with a bubblegum scent that is light and almost stale, wish it was a little sweeter. Well if we're wishing for things, I wish I could tolerate the scents of these at all because I do like them very much. Have you tried these out?
