Sinful Shine Prosecco Swatch & Review

Hey friends! Today I have something of a unicorn to show you. It's Sinful Shine Prosecco. This isn't a terribly remarkable polish really, but it appeared and disappeared from store shelves in a neck-snapping turn around, which is kind of odd. So it's very in demand and very hard to find. I stumbled upon it in a Rite Aid the last time I went out of town back in late October so I snatched it up. Did it live up to the hype?

This is a greige polish with lots of gold microshimmer, kinda glass fleck-y which is lovely. It leans very grey on me, which is good because I was worried about this color next to my skin tone. It's quite sheer, this three coats and it's still kinda see-through. Easy formula though, very smooth.

This is the first Sinful Shine polish I've tried and I don't really have a different opinion of it versus regular Sinful Colors polishes but it is nice. I quite like the color and am glad I have it! You can pick up this brand at drugstores like Walgreens, Rite Aid and Walmart. Sadly I think this guy might be gone from your local store shelves, but you might find it unexpectedly like I did. Or try ebay ;) What do you think of Prosecco? Did you manage to get your hands on it?

Byeeeee!

Sinful Colors - Blue Crushin

Hello there! I have another Sinful Colors polish to show you today! I decided to take a closer look at them based on my previous experience and found another I had to have. This is Blue Crushin, which I always read wrong as "cruisin" haha.
Sinful Colors - Blue Crushin

This deep teal creme has a perfect formula. Smooth, buttery, shiny and totally opaque in one coat. I did two for this swatch though, because of habit mostly. I immediately thought of Rescue Beauty Lounge's Teal when I first saw this but I think it's a bit lighter. I don't have Teal (I borrowed it from a friend when I swatched it) so this is a worthy substitute for me considering the RBL is retired. It's close to OPI's Ski Teal We Drop also, but leans a tad more toward the green side of teal.

You can buy Sinful Colors at most drugstores for around $1.99. What do you think of this color? P.S. I will have swatches of the new Rescue Beauty Lounge collection up this Wednesday, June 18 at Noon edt, be sure to pop in and take a look!

Sinful Colors Cream Pink + Painted Polish Drunk on Holo

Hi friends! Today I wanted to show you a mani I wore a few weeks ago that I really loved. I used Sinful Colors Cream Pink for my main shade and did accent nails on my thumbs and ring fingers with Painted Polish Drunk on Holo.

I tend to overlook Sinful Colors because I see their stuff mostly as "basic" colors that I already have a million of but sometimes they'll have something that catches my eye. I saw this color on a fellow lacquerista's instagram and knew I had to have it. I adore pinks with gold shimmer and this bright warm toned stunner is really perfect for me. I don't know why they named it "cream" pink because it's a shimmer, duh. This is opaque in two coats, perfect formula. I guess this isn't even new, it's from their core collection. And they are cheap! Usually $1.99 at Walmart, Walgreens, etc.

Painted Polish is an new-to-me indie that I also discovered on instagram. This is a super intense silver holographic glitter. It's like CRAZY blingy, I wish I could convey it in my photos but for real. You need this. The formula was good and it covered really nicely in three coats. You can get Painted Polish on their website for $10.

Do you like Sinful Colors? I need to look at them more often and stop being a snob haha. Have you ever tried anything from Painted Polish? I have already spied a few more of their colors that I need. I hope your weekend is amazing and I'll see you next time :)

Guest Post by Tales About Nails: Pyjama Dotticure

Howdy there :) Today's guest post comes from a gal all the way in Australia! I know there is a huge Australian beauty blogger base, the nail bloggers even have a group they call the Gumleaf Mafia (so cute). I first noticed Lauren's awesome nails on Instagram and found she had a blog as well called Tales About Nails. Her lovely and beautifully symmetrical nails caught my eye and I hope they catch yours as well. Be sure to follow her to check out all her great nail art designs and color reviews! Thanks Lauren!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hey there everyone! I'm Lauren from Tales About Nails, or you may know me as @xxlovelauren on Instagram. Kellie's awesome blog was one of the very first nail blogs I started reading back when I didn't know a holographic from a shimmer or a creme from a jelly, and I never imagined I'd be on here one day! It's such an honour!

This dotticure was inspired by a pair of pyjama shorts I spotted (ha! pun intended) in a store the other day and I just loved the colour scheme. I even stood there in the store for a while thinking up the polishes that would match up with the colours haha. Dotticures are a great form of nail art for even the most beginner person. I used a small dotting tool from a nail art tool set but toothpicks or bobbypins work just fine!

Polishes used: Sinful Colors 'Cool Gray' for the base, and Sally Hansen 'Pacific Blue', China Glaze 'Flip Flop Fantasy', Ulta3 'Lily White' and Lime Crime 'Once In A Blue Mousse' for the dots.

Hope you guys like it!

Thank you so much for the opportunity to guest post for you Kellie! xx

Whimsical Cinderella

Sinful Colors has really stepped it up in the last few years on their polish selection. They had the same tired selection for like ever, then suddenly they started producing new colors every so often. Cinderella is one of the new ones, a beautiful glass fleck sky blue lacquer. The shimmer is pink/orange tinted which makes the polish unique, in my collection at least. It is rather sheer but layers up nicely. This is four thin coats. It's got a slightly jelly finish so it can gum up if you layer on coats too quickly.

Next, I decided to put Revlon Whimsical on top of Cinderella. This is a dupe of Deborah Lippmann's Glitter In the Air. It's much cheaper and a smidge less sheer, but otherwise exactly the same. It's a pale blue milky base, small glassy blue glitter, a little bigger round metallic pink glitter, and large metallic pink and blue hex glitter. This is two coats.

Sinful Colors are found in Walgreens for $1.99 each and Revlon nail polish can be found at most large retailers and drugstores for about $4 or so.

Color Club 'Fractured' Collection Part 2: Swatches & Review

Hi everyone, today I have the remaining three polishes in the Color Club Fractured Collection. You can see my review on the first three here.

First up is Kiss and Break Up, the fuschia purple fractured topcoat. I am not terribly impressed with this one. It's an okay color, on the hot pink side of purple. I hear it is an dupe for the color of China Glaze's Purple Panic. This one didn't crack very much on my first few tries, this is my third attempt at a swatch for it. I put it over Sinful Colors Adventure Island, a yellow tinged green crème. It is actually more dusty and pale than my picture makes it out to be. I got a new camera for flash photography so I'm learning how to use it correctly, bear with me. I really like the color combo of these two together.

Next is Tattered in Gold, the light gold fractured topcoat. If I was not impressed with Kiss and Break Up, than I might as well toss this one right now. It would simply refuse to crack no matter how much I varied application, thick, thin, etc. I eventually thinned it a little with polish thinner, and that helped maybe a tiny smidge, but not much. I don't like how the gold is so light too, it's almost silver :P I put it over my first Pixel Polish Oh Pardon Me. You can get these at Ulta for $1.99. They are tiny but have a really fabulous brush. Oh Pardon Me is a shimmery tri-tone blue shimmer/glitter.

And last, and my favorite from the three, is Splitting Image, a bright blue fractured topcoat. This one cracked the best out of the second half of this collection, and was nicely pigmented. I used it over Sinful Colors Seaweed, a dusty pale green dupe for OPI's Stranger Tides. My bottle of this broke so I had to decant it into an empty franken bottle. I liked this polish too, it was creamy and applied easily.

These were all were a bit more temperamental than some other crack polishes I've tried. And they got really chunky around the neck of the bottles, as they dry I guess. I have to say I'm not a fan of this half of the collection all that much. You can purchase Color Club polishes from TransDesign.com, Head2ToeBeauty.com, and from VictoriasNailSupply.com (although they are on vacation until July 28th). Take care dolls, I am having kind of a hard time right now but I'm trying to get through it with my head held high. Kisses!

Franken: Inglorious

Inglorious is the name of my frankened emerald green scattered holo polish. I made it using a bit of silver holo polish, can't remember at the moment which one, and Sinful Colors dark green jelly called Last Chance with a few drops of China Glaze's Bermuda Breakaway. I also found some silver holo glitter at Sally Beauty supply by a brand called SuperNail called Silver Rush that I put in for extra oomph.
I photographed this on a not super sunny day so it doesn't look as spectacular as it is, but it is rather nicely holo. I like it very much. The name comes from one of my favorite movies, Inglorious Basterds. The lovely Maria gave me some new empty bottles when I won her last giveaway so I'll be making some more frankens here soon I think! Thanks again sugar :)

Sinful Colors Pretty in Pink collection

It's Feburary and Valentine's Day is imminent. An exciting day for all you happy couples but a big fat stinky reminder of singlehood for the unattached. I don't usually like to make a big deal out of the V-day, as I find it a silly tradition and a just another reason to spend money, but it is good excuse to rock a sweet pink manicure.
Sinful Colors is repromoting some of their shades for the occasion, 6 of their pink lacquers ready to "pretty-you-up" for the big day. I got three of them to show you and I actually love all of them. You may know that I enjoy my pinks, of course, but I bet you will like these just as much as I do.

Scandal is a beautiful, almost-neon pink jelly. This really pops, I would wear this any day, not just for the cheesiest holiday of the year ;) This is two coats.
Boom Boom is a magenta pink jelly crème with mega pigment. Beautiful and so easy to apply. Two coats on this one too!
Glass Pink is actually a color I already had, a sheer glass-fleck pale pink sparkle gloss. I actually like this on it's own but it looks great as a topcoat to other polishes. The swatch by itself is two coats and the topcoat is one on top of Boom Boom.
All Sinful Colors polishes are available at major drug and mass market stores nationwide for $1.99, by calling 1-800-448-0763 or online at www.sinfulcolors.com.

random pic spam

nyx las vegas is a sexy green that covers well in two coats. i usually like weird bottle shapes but the nyx bottle turns me off :/ oh well this color is so hawt! a must have.
sinful colors soul mate is a lovely medium pink with not much remarkableness, but i totally love it.  goes really well with any skin tone and is a very work appropriate shade.  this is two coats.
pure ice is a walmart brand polish that comes out with pretty great colors, i don't know why i don't have more of them actually.  this is one of my favorites, twinkle.  it's a mango orangey coral with gold orange shimmer.  two coats :)
icing skinny dip is another lovely work appropriate shade that is rather unremarkable but still called enough to me to buy it so i obviously liked it, haha.  it's a nice light pale pink with subtle shimmer.  this is two coats.  i remember this one being a bit thick.
essie lolipop is a stunner, and one of my very favorite jellies ever.  it's a red WHAM POW shade that essie really set the bar on.  this is two coats on my nubbins.
china glaze's midnight ride is part of the rodeo diva collection, my favorite collection ever.  it's a dark and glowy purple that is kin to gussied up green and rodeo fanatic.  adore this!  two coats.
sinful colors plunie plum is kind of a weird unique mauve color.  i really love this frosty shade.  it was very flattering on my skin tone.  i made it matte with china glaze's matte magic topcoat and it was even prettier.  two coats.
color club feel the beat is an orangey red almost marbled polish that came from the the musique collection color club put out a while ago.  i got this as a present from my dear friend niki aka magic maid.  thanks girl!  this is three coats.
maybelline wet shine series were some of the best polishes ever!  so cute and very wearable.  this one is called peach gleam.  another polish i got from miss niki, on a blog sale.  this is three coats.
catrice is a european brand but i got this from my stateside friend miss ange-marie on a blog sale.  soft lilac is a gorgeous shimmery pale purple that is really beautiful and classic.  this is three coats.
new york summer aramanth is probably the ultimate grass green jelly out there.  if you are a green lover, you need this polish.  kind of a problem child for application, but the old school jellies usually are.  this is four coats.
sinful colors you just wait looks like the topcoat that was left out of the zoya reverie collection, i mean if there was one.  sheer pink wash with gold shimmer and not really my usual style, for some reason this baby just called to me.  three coats and still very sheer looking, in real life there is almost enough shine and shimmer to look totally covered!  i adore this and it would look great layered i'm sure.
*whew* hope that wasn't too much for ya on this gorgeous (rainy) sunday :)  love ya!

kelliegonzo
