Sparitual Fall in Love Swatch & Review

So by now you must've heard that the Pantone color of the year for 2015 was just announced to be Marsala, an brownish earthy wine red. Salon brand polish Sparitual just came out with a marsala-esque shimmery shade so I wanted to show it off to you today.

Fall in Love is an almost metallic type of shimmer, it's very fall leaves-like. Makes me think of rich sun baked apple cider, red/brown with a sheath of gold. It's a tad thick and I was afraid it might end up brush-strokey but glad to see it smoothed down easily. This is two coats.

You can purchase Sparitual lacquers on their website and in stores like Ulta for $12 per bottle. What do you think of the Pantone color for the upcoming year? I'm not 100% sold on it, but I might warm up to it when fall rolls around.

See ya soon!

CosmoProf North America in Las Vegas: Part 1

I am beat. Literally and figuratively. My feet, shins, and shoulders are dying from all the walking and hauling around Las Vegas, more specifically, the CosmoProf North America convention. I went with my bestie, my sister Clarrisa, and we stayed at the Mandalay Bay where the conference was being held. It was overwhelming to say the least, there are a bazillion exhibitors of beauty brands, lots of products to look at, and about a billion and a half people. Not to mention, miles and miles of ground to cover in a short time. I arrived on Sunday morning, and while my sister kindly checked us in, I took off straight for the convention center.

I met up with Jen from The Polishaholic first thing and we went off to explore. Both her and I were a little confused as to what we should do at first, like what questions we were "supposed" to ask the exhibitors and brand reps. It turned out, I mostly got enjoyment out of discovering new brands and products and looking at the new collections from some of my favorite nail polish brands and meeting the people behind them.

I will be posting more pictures soon, along with a more in depth post on the conference and who I met, what I learned, yadda yadda, but here is a bunch of pretty photos for now. (Picture heavy, so they're after the jump.)

SpaRitual Lustress

I don't have a ton of SpaRitual nail polishes, but the ones I do have, I love. This is called Lustress, from the Kaleidoscope collection that came out last spring. It's a bright pink foil shimmer that is really in your face. It is seriously bright, it freaked out my camera and it's actually pinker than these pictures show, not as red. This is two coats.
I got my SpaRituals from Apothica.com but you can also get them from SkinStore.com and of course SpaRitual.com.

sparitual imagine

i've been wanting to try sparitual polishes for-freaking-ever and i finally got the chance this past week! and i have to tell you (i think i really overuse this word haha) i totally love them!! i mean it, i did not have one problem with the formula, i ADORE the bottle design and cap, and the colors are to die for! now only if i can get my local salons to start carrying them :) plus they are vegan, which is cool and incredibly admirable.

the imagine collection for fall 2010 is all about rich atmospheric hues that represent a life filled with prosperity, wisdom, and creativity. "The Imagine Collection offers a brilliant palette of unique shades that nurture creativity and encourage a fresh outlook on beauty" says SpaRitual founder, Shel Pink. there are six colors in the collection and i have three to show you today.
a world of compassion is definitely my favorite out of the three, although i really like them all :)  it's a periwinkle blue/purpley soft color that is EXTREMELY flattering, and the formula was amazing!  this is two coats even though it was opaque in one.

dreams becoming reality may appear to be just another teal, but it is super rich and really really nicely pigmented, making it stand apart from some of the other teal polishes i've tried recently.  i thought it would look nicer with my skintone, but i still like it.  two coats.
and living in the moment i like very much, as it has that whole taupe thing going on that i adore but also has a hint of mauve which is a nice change up.  this is two coats.
i am very impressed with sparitual polishes!  they apply super well, and they seem to smell less than other polishes which is awesome.  and again, i am totally in love with their packaging!  the "plum cap" has got me head over heels :)  you can buy these for $10 at skinstore.com or skincarerx.com
