Color Club Love Tahiry Collection Swatches & Review

Hi folks! Today I wanted to share with you the Love Tahiry collection from Color Club. This wasn't specifically described as a Valentine's Day collection but it definitely has those types of shades. These are all designed by Tahiry Jose, who I just learned is on the reality show Love & Hip Hop: New York (sorry, I don't watch it). These all have a special scent to them when they dry. Let's take a look shall we?

First is Sweet Getaway, a very neon pink shade. On the nails it appears hotter & glowy-er than the pink color in the bottle. It seems to go on very opaque, but there was still some streaking with two coats so I needed three. It does apply very easily for such a neon color though. This one has a "pink rose" scent. I love rose scented things normally, but unfortunately this scent was too overwhelming for me to want to wear this again.

Here we have Tall Dark & Handsome, a dusty deep grey crème. It has a thin formula but is very opaque. I used two coats. This scent is described as "cologne" and that is right on. I like men's scents but I don't know if I want my nails to smell super masculine haha. It was a bit too strong for me.

Seal It With a Kiss is a strawberry scented peachy pink light coral crème. This is so my type of color. It was a little on the thick side but manageable. I used two coats. This scent was pretty subtle, but nice and sweet.

This is 50 Shades of Love, a topper with metallic red and pearl white heart glitters in a clear(ish) base. You can see how the color on the red hearts has flaked off some and infiltrated the base. I actually like how the red bits look in the base but I wish the hearts didn't look scratched. I had to kinda place the hearts on, but this is one coat over Seal It With a Kiss. This one says it smells like "candy" but it's a very lightly scented one.

Next is Red-Handed, a cool red crème. This is pretty basic, but a staple kind of shade. It had a great easy to apply formula. This is two coats. It's labeled as smelling like "cinnamon" but I didn't smell anything except nail polish on this one.

This is On Cloud Nine, a squishy white jelly crème. It was still a bit streaky on two coats so I used three. This has a "white chocolate" scent, it was probably my favorite of the scents.

And last is Jitters, my favorite shade of the collection with my least favorite scent. It's a rosy pink and silver holographic microglitter with full coverage in two easy coats. I love the way it looks! Unfortunately the "bubbly" scent they put in it, which I'm assuming is supposed to smell like champagne, just overpowers me and it actually gave me a headache. To be fair, I'm pretty sensitive to a lot of scents, but I had to mention it.

These are available on the Color Club website for $8.50 each. I also know they are stocked at some e-tailers like Llarowe and HB Beauty Bar (though I have never ordered from HB). What do you think of these colors? How do you feel about scented nail polish?

Have a fly day!

Secret Cupid Swap: KBShimmer Belle of the Mall Swatch & Review

Hi my friends! Happy Singles Awareness Day, or as it's more conventionally known, Valentine's Day! I am not a big Valentine's person, it's mostly just kinda cute and silly to me. This year it's a little more special though because a group of polish lovin' sistas invited me to join in on a little "Secret Cupid" gift swap and today is our unveiling! Most of the other ladies have YouTube channels I will link to them at the end, make sure you stop by and check out what they received!

My Secret Cupid turned out to be Danielle Kelley from YouTube :) She mainly makes videos about nail polish, she does hauls and shows swatches, etc. I've recently come to get to know her a little and she's such a sweetheart! She has beautiful nails, make sure you check out her instagram too.

She sent me one of my lemmings that I hadn't gotten around to buying yet, KBShimmer Belle of the Mall. It's from their 2014 Spring collection so it's very appropos for this season. It has a coral toned almost neon pink jelly base with holographic silver glitters of varying size. This is so my kinda polish and I love it! Thanks so much Danielle! I used two coats here for full opacity.

Also included in my package was a little baggie of heart glitters, a KBShimmer nail file, a KBShimmer soap sample, some yummy candy and a sweet Valentine's Day card. I seriously loved everything :)

You can purchase this polish from KBShimmer on their website. I adore it and know I will get lots of use out of it. Please take a minute to visit each of the gals that participated in this swap, they are posting about their packages today too. Also, so you can see who I was a Secret Cupid for!

Thanks for coming by today and have a great one!

OPI Pink Me I'm Good

Hey kiddos! Hope all is well :) I just got done doing a sleep study (where a sleep technician monitors your sleep overnight) and I am not too well rested today. Having a million sensors and wires poking out of you all night is not so comfortable, let me tell you! Plus washing all the glue-gunk out of my hair this morning wasn't very fun either. I just hope I don't have sleep apnea or something like that. I did the study to possibly help figure out why I have daily headaches and frequent migraines. *shrugs* We'll see. Anyone who suffers from pain like that knows you'll do anything to figure out the cause and hopefully alleviate it! I hope it gets under control soon, wish me luck!

Anysnore...back to the important things in life, for Pink Wednesday I decided to show you OPI Pink Me I'm Good, an Ulta Valentines Day exclusive from 2010. I have been wanting this since it came out but just barely got it in a swap a few weeks ago. It's a gorgeous bright pink coral jelly with square bits of gold glitter. The consistency is pretty thick, almost gluey but it's not the worst formula I've used. This is three coats.
I loving showing off my pinks! Hope you've enjoyed this edition of Pink Wednesday :)

Illamasqua Load

Illamasqua's Valentine's Day cosmetic launch was called "Throb", which doesn't surprise me at all. Illamasqua comes up with the sexiest names for their products haha. I HAD to have one of the polishes from the collection, Load. It's a slightly yellow cream colored jelly crème polish that I fell head over heels for the second I saw it. It's the perfect shade. And the name is so dirty, hee hee. I mean, if you have my kind of mind ;)
Load takes about three coats to get opaque but it is lovely. I got a few bubbles but who cares, it's light enough that they were almost imperceptible. I am so enamored with Illamasqua polishes, I have WAY more of them than I ever expected to have! And, I can't wait to get my hands on the new "Toxic Nature" polishes, Bacterium and Radium.

Sinful Colors Pretty in Pink collection

It's Feburary and Valentine's Day is imminent. An exciting day for all you happy couples but a big fat stinky reminder of singlehood for the unattached. I don't usually like to make a big deal out of the V-day, as I find it a silly tradition and a just another reason to spend money, but it is good excuse to rock a sweet pink manicure.
Sinful Colors is repromoting some of their shades for the occasion, 6 of their pink lacquers ready to "pretty-you-up" for the big day. I got three of them to show you and I actually love all of them. You may know that I enjoy my pinks, of course, but I bet you will like these just as much as I do.

Scandal is a beautiful, almost-neon pink jelly. This really pops, I would wear this any day, not just for the cheesiest holiday of the year ;) This is two coats.
Boom Boom is a magenta pink jelly crème with mega pigment. Beautiful and so easy to apply. Two coats on this one too!
Glass Pink is actually a color I already had, a sheer glass-fleck pale pink sparkle gloss. I actually like this on it's own but it looks great as a topcoat to other polishes. The swatch by itself is two coats and the topcoat is one on top of Boom Boom.
All Sinful Colors polishes are available at major drug and mass market stores nationwide for $1.99, by calling 1-800-448-0763 or online at www.sinfulcolors.com.
