OPI Holiday 2016 Breakfast At Tiffany's Collection Swatches & Review

Hi there beautiful! I have the Holiday 2016 collection from OPI to show you today, the Breakfast at Tiffany's collection! This has to be one of my all time favorite movies, it's soooo good! There are twelve colors in the regular polish line and six in the Infinite Shine line, so you're in for a long post today because I'm giving them to you all at once, yay!

Breakfast At Tiffany's is a pinky pale pearl with iridescent shimmer. Goes on a bit streaky, but evens out in three coats. This dries very fast because of the matte finish. I covered it with a top coat, I wasn't sure if it was meant to stay matte or not, but either way I prefer it shiny.

Apartment For Two is a vibrant raspberry pink crème. Very easy, smooth formula and opaque in two coats.

Rich & Brazilian is a luxe and lustrous eggplant purple with tons of shifty shimmer and flakie particles. Went on a little uneven at first, but I got full coverage with two layers.

I Believe In Manicures is a light blue crème, not quite Tiffany blue mind you, but similar. I believe there is a copyright on the exact Tiffany blue shade so no one can use it but them. This was quite thin. I almost got full coverage in two coats, however I needed three for complete opacity.

Got The Mean Reds is a mid-tone red crème. This has a great formula, a one coater! I used two here like I usually do. This color is not particularly exciting to me personally, but I like the name.

Black Dress Not Optional is a dark charcoal almost-black with a gossamer glaze of silver microshimmer. This was lovely to apply, thin but easy to manipulate. Slightly brushstrokey due to the shimmer, but these types of colors don't look bad with them in my humble opinion.

Meet My "Decorator" is a bright warm red jelly crème, squishy and a little bit streaky, surprisingly. I used three coats to get full coverage on this guy.

Sunrise... Bedtime! is a glitter bomb with a slightly pink tinted base filled with pink holographic glitter. Most people will probably layer this but I had to try to build it up to see if I could wear it on its own. Kinda thick and there may be some texture pieces in here, because it eats top coat like crazy. I put on three coats and it looks pretty great, blings so hard you probably wouldn't notice any open spots anyway!

Can't Read Without My Lipstick is a deep maroon jelly crème. Quite opaque with that shiny squishy quality I adore. Two coats.

Five-and-Ten is a pale champagne foil with a pink tinge full of shimmer. I am in love with this, it's classy but still flashy! Makes me think of New Year's. The formula is on the thinner side and I needed three coats here.

Fire Escape Rendezvous is described as a matte glittering ruby. Assorted sizes and shapes of shard glitter pieces punctuate the base and make a chunky problem child. *sigh* I really, really don't understand why they keep trying this "glitter in a metallic base" formula thing. I had to shake this up a lot before I put it on because all the glitter pieces sink to the bottom. Dries matte, but I put on a thick shiny top coat (Pretty Serious Cosmetics Plump Up the Volume for the win!).

Champagne For Breakfast has a clear base filled with silver holographic glitter and maybe some texture particles, but I can't be sure. I layered one coat over Rich & Brazilian and I love it. I actually did try to get this opaque on its own, but after the fourth coat my nail bed was still peeking through pretty obviously. You could try the sponge method if you really want to wear it alone though.

Now on to the Infinite Shine colors! These are the first ones I've tried from OPI so I can't speak to their wear time or the difference in formula. They are a bit more expensive though, and are designed to be used with the Infinite Shine prep and top coat.

Party At Holly's is a vampy, deep oxblood jelly crème. Quite opaque, I found this to be lovely and plush, and very shiny. Two coats.

Girls Love Pearls is a pearl white metallic. This is the shimmery, silk type of metallic, not a foil and not a frost. Very brushstroky, but surprisingly easy to apply. With two coats you can still kind of see my nail line but these type of colors look ok like that to me. I thought I was going to hate this, but I actually think it looks pretty good on me.

I Believe In Manicures is the only color that overlaps both polish and Infinite Shine. Almost identical to the polish version, it's a light blue crème but this one was a touch lighter and shinier. Seemed less streaky too, but I still needed three coats.

Can't Tame a Wild Thing is an orangey red jelly crème. Thin but easy to control, which I appreciate in a shade like this because no one wants to have to clean it out from under their cuticles, am I right? I used three coats for full opacity.

I'll Have a Manhattan is a midnight purple jelly crème. Another nice opaque formula, easy to apply and dries nice and shiny at two coats.

Ring The Buzzer Again is a scarlet jelly crème. On the thick side, but in a good way. I used three coats here because I could still see my nail line a little bit, but you may be able to get away with two.

OPI polishes can be purchased at professional salons and retailers like Trade Secret, Sally Beauty, and Ulta. Let me know what you think of this collection! I get what OPI was going for, classic colors for a classic movie, but I still wish they would've thrown in a few adventurous shades. Do we really need soooo many such similar reds?? I think not. KBShimmer Office Space Collection Swatches & Review

Hey folks, I'm here today to show you the next KBShimmer collection coming soon in January, the Office Space collection! “Sometimes you want to be a bit naughty, but stay within the professional lines. The Office Space collection consists of eight naughty and neutral shade ideas for the office. These shades add a pop of color and sparkle to your nails, while still keeping the boss happy." My job doesn't discriminate against any nail polish colors, thank goodness, but if they did, these colors would be a revelation!

Take Back CTRL is a dusty rose mauve crème. Leans purple but is on the border of the pink family I think. Excellent formula, buttery and smooth. Opaque in two coats.

A Hint Of Manila is in the famous KBShimmer mega flame finish, this has a light tan base loaded with tons of holographic sparkle. A touch thick but not difficult to apply. This is two coats. Dries with a glitter texture so you'll want a thick layer of top coat or two for a smooth finish.

Staple Relationship is a deepened gray with slight purple undertones full of metallic silver flakes and holographic sparkle. This is in the KBShimmer birthstone finish, a favorite of mine. Super opaque, a one coater! I used two anyway though.The flakies dry flat so there is no texture to this one.

Caught On Tape is a pale pink mauve crème. This is simple and pretty, really classic. Lovely formula, really excellent for such a light color! And quite opaque, I only needed two coats.

Fax Of Life is a dark platinum grey linear holographic shade. I was pretty floored at how opaque this guy was, almost a one coater but I used two for 100% coverage. Easy and breezy and great!

Supplies Party has a warm vanilla cream base loaded with metallic flakes and holographic sparkle. Another birthstone finish shade with a great formula. An unexpected favorite, two coats.

Cubicle Pusher is a muted dusty grape holographic. Great formula, just a little on the thinner side. I used three coats here but you could probably get away with just two, I think I was being cautious haha.

Makin’ Copies is a pale silver filled with white shimmer and holographic pigment. The holo in this is subtle, but it's definitely there. A bit more sheer, but being an almost white, that isn't really unexpected. I used three coats here.

Nine Zero Lacquer Holiday 2016 Collection Swatches & Review

I'm back again today with another holiday collection for you, this time from indie brand Nine Zero Lacquer! In case you don't know, this brand was created a little over a year ago by Jessface90, a long time YouTuber. She makes videos about, you guessed it, nail polish! I love that her brand is so creative and has excellent formulas, because this gal really knows her stuff when it comes to the polish game. Let's take a look at what she has cooked up for the 2016 holiday season!

Sugar Cookie is a white crelly with red and green metallic shredded glitter and gold holographic glitter. This is super densely packed with those glitter pieces, but that doesn't make it difficult to apply which is nice. I got great coverage in just two coats. Some of the flakie bits can stick up a bit so you'll want a thick top coat.

Pink Christmas is a full coverage pink microflake polish with a gold flash and added holographic effect. I didn't realize this was made up of the microflakes at first, I thought it might just be a metallic shimmery holo, but they're there all right! Excellent formula, opaque in two coats. Super shiny!

Balsam is a light pine green holographic with tiny gold flakes. Gorgeous green polish, and I can always use more of those! Nice strong holo flame too. This is two effortless coats.

Golden Lights has a gold holographic base filled with semi-transparent rainbow glitter hexes. This is a gold version of Twinkle Lights from their 2015 holiday collection. (Which is also still available on their website, fyi!) I used three coats here. You could also layer it over an opaque base color for a different look.

Frost has a vibrant teal jelly base filled with silver holographic microflakes. Lovely shade, and we all know I am head over heels with holo flakes these days! Great formula, a tad sheer but builds up in three coats. Dries a bit dull so I suggest a shiny top coat.

Midnight has a deep purple jelly base full to the brim with silver holographic microglitter. This one was just a tad runny, so make sure not to overload your brush. I used two thick coats but you could also do three thinner layers. Another one that has a glitter texture so you'll want a thick top coat for a smooth finish.

Stuffed (crelly) is a reboot of Stuffed from the 2015 Thanksgiving collection. Not part of the Holiday collection, but I had to show it off. It has an off white crelly base filled with gold holographic microglitter, and red, orange, garnet, copper, and brown glitters. Packed with glitter and a touch thick, but pretty easy to apply. Two coats here. I recommend a thick top coat for this one because it dries a little textured from the glitter.

This collection along with Stuffed is available now on the Nine Zero Lacquer website. They are $9-$11 each. All six shades from the Holiday collection can be purchased together for $58. There are also a few polishes available from last year's holiday collection up for sale too. I'm a huge Nine Zero fan and I can't say enough good things about them, but this collection kinda knocked my socks off! Let me know what you think about these!

China Glaze Holiday 2016 Seas and Greetings Collection Swatches & Review

This year for the holiday season China Glaze is doing things a little differently! They are taking us on a tropical escape from the snow and cold to give us "warmed up" winter in the form of bright shades, shimmer and vibrancy! Let's take a look at the Seas and Greetings collection!

Good Tide-ings is described as a cool blue lavender, or in other words, a periwinkle crème. This is a total one coat wonder, excellent buttery formula that is very opaque. I used two coats here, as usual.

Warm Wishes is a watermelon coral with super subtle silver shimmer. This formula was on the thin side, so it could be runny if you overload your brush. I noticed some slight streaks after two coats, so I used three layers here.

Joy To The Waves is a shimmering "serene" blue with a strong gold flash. This is thin and a bit sheer. I used three coats for full coverage. This type of shimmer can get brushstrokey so I recommend polishing with care.

Eat, Pink, Be Merry is a pale pink with subtle shimmer. Another thin formula, and a little sheer. I found that floating the brush over the nail instead of pressing down to be the best method of application to ensure a streak-free finish. This is three coats.

Partridge In a Palm Tree is an aqua green matte with silver shimmer. This is one of those mattes that dries SUPER fast. And if you put on too thin of a layer, it can crack upon dry down. I got the best results when I applied this very quickly with a good amount of polish on my brush. If you manipulate it too much you will get uneven streaks. Very opaque, this is two coats but you could get away with one if applied well.

And you know I had to show this to you with top coat. The shimmer comes out like whoa!

Let's Shell-ebrate has a clear base with purple hexes, super tiny purple microglitters and soft gold flake shimmer. I layered two coats over Eat, Pink, Be Merry. You could also layer two or three coats of this on by itself for a different look.

I wanted to show you a shot of Let's Shell-ebrate in the shade to better highlight the gold flecks, as they are quite prominent but the full sunlight photo washes them out a bit.

Snow Way! is a winter white with a strong iridescent gold shimmer flash. Pale shades can be tricky to apply, but this was pretty straightforward and not finicky. I used three coats here for full opacity.

Tis The Sea-Sun is a vibrant coral crème with a sprinkle of practically invisible shimmer. A more orangey red kind of coral, thin but not runny or difficult. I found this really easy to polish with actually! This is two coats.

Sand In My Mistletoes is a peachy nude crème. This was a little thin, but surprisingly opaque. I saw some faint streaky-ness on two coats though, so I used three for good measure.

The More The Berrier is a metallic magenta foil. A more typical holiday type shade, this reminds me of a bold party dress. This is absolutely a one coat polish, I even left it alone at one because it looked so great I felt another coat couldn't improve it any more!

Twinkle, Twinkle Little Starfish is an iridescent gold-to-green shimmer topper. I am convinced this was made to pair with Partridge In a Palm Tree, it looks perfect in my humble opinion haha. This is two coats over Partridge.

Seas and Greetings is a striking amethyst purple shimmer. This formula reminds me of the old school polishes that were full of chemicals, kinda sheer and a bit watery but when built up they look really dimensional and glowy. This is three coats.

This is a crazy refreshing color palette for me right now, being knee-deep in the usual holiday reds, greens and dark colors haha. It may not be everyone's cup of tea, but I'm really pleased with the departure from the status quo for the season. My favorite is the combo of Partridge In a Palm Tree and Twinkle, Twinkle Little Starfish. What do you think of this collection?

KBShimmer Winter/Holiday 2016 Collection Swatches & Review

Hey folks! The winter collections are starting to roll out, and today I wanted to show you the 16 piece collection from KBShimmer for the upcoming season! This collection is filled with something for everyone, some shades are wintry, some are holiday-esque, and some are just really great colors!

Take Me For Granite is a pale grey crelly inspired by the first snow of the year, covering the asphalt with shades of white, gray and specks of black. This formula was great, like all KBShimmer crellies, let's be honest. You could use two coats, or three for a more opaque base like I did.

Spruce Things Up is a holiday green jelly polish with tons of micro holo and sliver glitters. Some of the glitter almost looks gold too, very blingy Christmas-tree looking. I used three coats here. Easy to apply, dries gritty so you'll want a thick top coat.

A Walk In The Park-a is a mid-tone orchid purple crème. This has a fabulous one coat formula, although I always use two. I definitely would rock a parka or a cozy sweater in this color, so cute.

Have A Look-Ski is a muted teal linear holographic. This is a slightly dusty shade for such a firey holo, more blue than green, kinda ocean/lake-y water color. Excellent formula, two coats.

Haute Mess is a mix of silver, copper, rose gold, and holographic glitters in a clear base. You could layer this or build it up on it's own, as I've done here. This is only two coats, it's super dense and full of glitter so it was very easy to get total coverage. I love the mixed metal look!

The Holy Kale is a green linear holographic with added micro glass flakes that shift between blue and pink. This started a bit sheer, it was right on the edge of being a two coater, but I thought it looked better with three. The shimmer has a very vivid shift, which gives it an interesting pop.

Ornamentally Flawless is a jewel toned glitter polish in shades of turquoise, fuchsia, gold, green and sliver in a clear base. I chose to put one coat over A Walk In The Park-a, but this is also super dense so it could be full coverage on it's own easily. I found the clear base dried crazy fast too.

Yeti Or Not is a very pale gray, almost white, polish loaded with iridescent and holographic glitters that glisten like "fresh fallen snow." Almost the same finish as the KBShimmer Mega Flame line, just a touch thicker. You can wear this alone for a textured finish, or use a thick layer of top coat or two to get a smooth, sparkly look. I built this up in three coats with a top coat.

Chai-huahua is a warm, brick red crème inspired by the spices that make up a chai drink, cinnamon, cloves and anise. This was super close to being a one coater, but I needed two to get the color you see in the bottle. This is a little bright in my shot, as I take photos in full sunlight, in other lighting it is a little darker and a bit more brown toned.

Ink Again is a super vibrant ink blue linear holographic. I can't even say anything about this, it's just SO GOOD. Two coats.

Whiskey Business is a warm, golden yellow with metallic flakes and a scattering of micro holo glitter. If you liked the Birthstone collection, you will love this! The formula was literally effortless to apply, opaque in two coats.

Royal To A Fault is a royal purple filled with micro glass flakes that shift from blue to violet at different angles. I was pretty blown away by this, and I usually don't go for blurples. Good formula, seemed a little sheer on the first coat, but after I used a bit of a thicker second layer it reached full coverage.

Get To The Poinsettia is a red linear holographic. Awesome holiday red, super fiery holo, and smooth as silk. Two coats here.

Soot and Ladders is a black jelly filled with micro flakes in a rainbow of colors, inspired by Christmas lights. This has a thinner formula, but was very easy to work with. I used two coats here.

Just Duvet It is a rich grape purple, almost a metallic but not quite, with a sprinkle of holo sparkle, and a dusting of pink shimmery flakes. Another impressive purple, great formula and opaque in two coats.

Bling In The New Year is made up of a base of silver metallic flakes and silver holo glitter with accents of colorful shifting flakes in pinks, greens, gold and blues. This is also in the Birthstone finish, lovely to apply though I found it ever so slightly runny, so be sure not to overload your brush.
