Native War Paints Denim Collection Swatches & Review

Hey party people! Today I have the latest collection from indie brand Native War Paints, and they are shimmmaaahhss! This is by far my favorite finish from NWP, they do shimmers incredibly well. Instead of the gold shimmer we saw in their Sweater collections, this new collection, called Denim, has blue shimmer!

Jeans and a T-shirt is a pale grey with blue shimmer. This one seemed a bit sheer at first but it builds up nicely. Lovely formula, not thin like I expected, easy to polish with. This is three coats. These all dry dull so you'll want a top coat for maximum shine.
Native War Paints Jeans and a T-shirt

Skinny Jeans is a dusty yet vibrant medium purple with blue shimmer. This one was a tad thick. Nice and opaque at two coats.

Boots and Jeans is a beigey nude polish with blue shimmer. This one is very similar to Jeans and a T-shirt, sheerish but with a nice, easy to use formula. This is three coats.

Denim on Denim is a dark blue with blue shimmer. I found this to be similar to Skinny Jeans, a little on the thicker side, with full coverage in two coats.

Distressed Denim is a deep aubergine purple with blue shimmer. This dries darker than it looks in the bottle, a little more wine than berry. Same thicker formula, two coats.

My Favorite Sweater and Jeans is a teal polish with blue shimmer. This is still just as shimmery as the others but the colors don't contrast as much, so it might not appear very glisteny in the photo, but it definitely is in real life. Good formula, also a tad bit thick, two coats.

It hit me that the formula on the darker shades are all very similar to how matte polishes behave for me. They dry very quickly, and I seemed to get the smoothest finish when I had a generous amount of polish on my brush and worked very quickly and deliberately. If you play with your strokes too much (heh heh) you might get uneven-ness and visible streaks.

These are all available for pre-order on the Native War Paints website now. They are $8 individually and $40 for the full collection. After the pre-order ends on 9/17, they will sell for $9 individually and $50 for the collection. What do you think of these shimmery gals? I'm honestly gaga for them all, but Distressed Denim and Boots and Jeans have me swooning!

OPI Washington D.C. Ulta Exclusives Swatches & Review

How are you today? I'm feeling great because I'm bringing you two more fall themed OPI shades! I reviewed the full (so I thought) Washington D.C. collection a while ago, but little did I know then, there were two more colors out there! Ulta brought us two exclusive shades, which I eagerly purchased as soon as they were available at my local store.

Politically Polished is a dark taupey brown crème. Great formula, super duper close to being a one coat wonder, but I used two layers for 100% coverage. This type of color may not be unique but it's a staple shade for me and I love it!

Front Runner is an ultra dark moss green crème. Another awesome formula, but this one is totally a one coater. I used two coats here like always though. Another maybe not one of a kind shade, but I am head over heels for this deep green. I will be wearing it this fall for sure!
OPI Front Runner Ulta Exclusive

I bought these for $10 each. I hope you can find them at your closest Ulta store, because they appear to be out of stock online right now. What do you think of these colors? I think they're a fab addition to the sophisticated palette of the Washington D.C. collection!

Guest Post by Nail Polish Society: Sophisticated Watermarble

Happy Labor Day to all my US readers! And happy Monday to everyone else :) Please enjoy the following guest post by my awesome friend Emiline from Nail Polish Society!

---

Hello there you lovely people! I'm Emiline from Nail Polish Society and I'm so honored to have been asked to guest post here. I been following Kellie's blog since my obsession first started three years ago. As you all know her swatches are to die for, and have influenced many a purchase of mine. Not only do I aspire to her amount of perfection, she is also just a really cool dudette. So thank you so much for having me!

For my nail art I created a simple look with a watermarble accent nail. I love me a good watermarble and it's slightly addicting. I often buy polishes based on their individual colors, then when I get them home I realize how well they go together. That was the case with these three Ginger + Liz polishes, ones that I wouldn't have normally thought of pairing together. I have found this brand to watermarble really well in the past and so I had to try it with these shades. As you can see, they worked like a charm! For my accent nail I applied the lilac shade on my nail as a base color. Then I added alternating drops of gray, lilac, and gold in my glass of water, and created a floral design on an inner ring of gray. I think the simplicity is slightly sophisticated but also really striking. Lastly I added a couple gold studs too for a little sompin' sompin'.

What I used:
Ginger + Liz Grounded- gray
Ginger + Liz Calm Down Girl- lilac
Ginger + Liz Got My Groove Back- gold
gold stud decorations from Born Pretty Store
Seche Vite top coat

I hope you enjoy what I've created! Thank you again Kellie for having me! Take a little break now and go treat yo' self.
